TH-cam recommends 1280x720 pixels for their thumbnails and I'm pretty sure that they downscale them to that resolution if they're larger than that. Griffpatch uses 1920x1080 as he answered but that's not too useful because of what I said previously, and generally the aspect ratio of your thumbnail (16:9 in this case) is more important to pay attention to than the size.
Thanks Griffpatch. i actually couldn't see your video due to online classes but you are my inspiration and i started using scratch when i saw one of your videos. i actually made a game myself but sadly it didn't work but im sure that one day i will be like you....a great Scratcher

Hey Griffpatch, do you think you could do a tutorial on getting a top down scrolling game using the car physics from one of your previous tutorials working?
Scratch code to text code (how i understand it): "Create clone of" and "When i start as a clone": Classes Custom blocks: Functions Variables "for this sprite only": Local variables "Change" blocks: Python's += and -= and i think that's everything i have to explain 🤔
@@thacuber2a03 I think you would just make more objects of a class. that's what I did on my python project when I made missiles shoot out of my spaceship
Good tutorial! Lemme just add something i think will be useful to others: If your player uses some sort of weaponry intead of firing lasers or bullets, one issue that will arise is making the weapon face the correct way. Sure, you COULD just use the same thing as with the player facing, but it comes out a bit janky. So, instead, you can make a variable named "PlayerFacing" and make it so that it's set to whatever direction the player is currently facing by using the "set (variable) to (number/other)" block. After that, simply make the weapon face a direction equal to the "PlayerFacing" variable with the "point in direction (number/other)" block and you're done! I hope this actually helped someone and i didn't just waste 10 minutes of my life writing this out.
This really helped! I’ve been attempting to make a Shooter Platformer and needed to figure out how to make the billet stop moving when it touched the ground as well as a good fire rate tool
