    Watching all ur videos from beginning to end has made me wanting to go through this process much more exciting and ready for a growth of change. Ur Mariah story really moved me because I’m 23 & I too myself feel as though If I continue to stay in my current environment I’ll either end up in jail or dead and I want a new environment for growth and change before it’s too late. Keep making this amazing content , ur virtually recruiting through TH-cam while also being fully transparent. Not painting the Air Force to be all glitter and gold. Much respect to you Jody❤. your videos are really really informative! i am so amped about joining the navy. I have a question. with the servicemember civil relief act [when i join] can i use that to reduce the monthly cost of my rent/mortage back home? lets say i pay 1800 a month on a house can it reduce it down to lets say, 1200? I would love to hear your astute insight. Thank you.

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately it wouldn’t work that way. It only works on high interest debt. It can however help you terminate a lease if need be, but no lower payments.
      My best advice for your situation would be to find a renter before leaving for basic, or sell the previous home (if you own it). Without doing either of these, you’ll find it extremely difficult to live on new airman pay. Now if you have dependents and you’re trying to pay the bills for them while gone, the Air Force will pay you your BAH to help with that.

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not dreads. They’ll cut it off at basic, and after that you can only grow it to 2 inches in bulk, and you can’t do dreads. You gotta ask yourself if it’s worth cutting the dreads, or if the dreads are worth missing a great opportunity. That’s the important question.

    If I do Navy ROTC, Would I still be able to come in with some rank in the AirForce since my school doesn’t have AFROTC?

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 years gets you E-2 and 3 years gets you E-3 regardless of which ROTC you’re part of.

    How soon after you’re in can you start using these benefits? Do you have to wait to finish Basic to have these benefits?

    Im a greencard holder and in delayed entry program and still waiting any job to be available. How long do a greencard holder to wait before BMT?

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the location and situation. Sometimes green card holders leave quickly, and sometimes it takes awhile. It’ll be really hard to give you a solid timeline, but I’d say expect 3-9 months of waiting.

    Would these still apply to people serving in guard components?

    • @Jodywithawhy

      Unfortunately not all of these benefits apply to the guard.

    Are these benefits available for guard and Reserve members??

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of them are. I do believe the child care aware isn’t available to guard or reserve members.

    Do you know if any of these benefits are available to people in the reserves?

      The USAA active and fit is. Everything else may require more info to qualify which I’m not 100% sure of.

    my son just received his job and a ship date for April. He and his fiancé plan to get married soon. Will their possibly be an issue with his ship date if they go ahead and get married right now?

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. He should be fine. He would just have to update his marriage to his recruiter and get the marriage certificate, her social security card and drivers license

    If I joined Air Force reserve could I still be in SERE or do you have to be full time for that job

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s depends on the reserve unit you’re applying to. If they don’t have a sere mission, you won’t be able to do sere there. I hope that helps.

    Can I do air force basic training before I graduate high school or do I have to wait? I'm 16

    • @Jodywithawhy
      @Jodywithawhy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’d have to wait. The Air Force doesn’t allow that.

      It only lets me get 5 referrals for a year, after that the link breaks. Don’t let that stop you, the card is great. 🤙🏽

      Most of these apply to active but some of this applies to guard and reserve as well. I left links in the description that can help you get more familiar with qualifications.
