The only way to get a 10 ease of access is an airport terminal at the mountain i guess

Dig the concept. Would be good to see more detailed examples of categories, ie:
    1. Food - State some of restaurants and what items they served that are unique; table availability
    2. Park - How many parks, small, med, large; any special or unique features you really liked; were boxes sticky?
    3. Terrain - What were the fun spots, hidden gems, how were the tree runs
    4. Ease of access - How far from airport
    Keep up the good work!

Food in PC is top class, although be prepared... it is far from cheap, even outside of the resorts. Park City is very luxury in general (average income is over like 300k a year). Want the best terrain? drive 40 mins to snowbird. 40 mins from the airport due east. Also note, which I am surprised he did not cover... ticket prices. Ticket prices are above average in PC. $150-200 dollars a day.

I totally agree! It takes me 2 1/2 hours to drive a two lane road from my house to Crystal Mountain OR 45 minutes to the airport and a 100 minute plane ride to SLC. It takes me 80-90 minutes to get from touchdown to the Payday chairlift. I used to ski for free on the old Quick Draw promotion.

Lived in CO, now in WA. Park City is my favorite for family ski trips. Comparable to Breck, it’s a great all-rounder with an entertaining town and sick terrain. Affordable lodging o’plenty and easy access from SLC. Uber from the airport and ride the bus around town. Still so many resorts to try! Keep the reviews coming!

This is my home resort! I started at the canyons when it was just the canyons so it’s by far my favorite place to go! Great review!! Only thing is accessibility should be a 10 and I’ve never been to a resort with half as many options as park city for food! Food should be a ten! I’ve been there six years and I’ve never had a problem with employees I would say a 7 for employees but I agree with your reason!👍👍👍 whistler next?!?

  • @SchleyerZed
    @SchleyerZed 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I work here and i agree with pretty much everything. A big tip i can give is STAY ON ONE SIDE. Spend a whole day at Park city and a full day at canyons. The quicksilver gondola closes very early and unless you're good at double blacks, the gondola takes a long time. The view is very "blue balls" if you know the wasatch range. You can see very tops of cool looking mountains and the edges of lakes but can't get the whole thing. I can tell you most employees here are about friendly efficiency. Ticket scanners and lift ops are super nice when you talk to them but you don't have the time to do that when there's a 30 minute line for crescent. Same with restaurants too. Spot on review

Correction! Normally park city day passes are $150 - $180. Sometimes $200. depending how far in advance and what day you choose to buy/ book it.
Also You should do a review of Brighton resort or powder mountain. Two great resorts here in UTAH

I'm a local and it's my 3rd season this year. Yep you were pretty spot on with everything!
PC is like the Walmart of Utah resorts. They have EVERYTHING like you said. The lower quality would be with it's snow accumulation. PC usually gets the end of the storms so the other (smaller) resorts nearby get more snow, more often.
PC is very popular with the families and has enough for all skill levels. You wouldn't be disappointed if you booked a vacation here. But don't, because I don't want more tourists😜

Also, are there any other US resorts that have something similar to blue sky basin?

If you’re wanting to go to a new mountain in utah I high suggest Powder Mountain. They limit it to 1500 people a day and it’s more locally owned. On top of that they don’t do man made snow they wait for it to get dumped on. Highly recommend it

I grew up skiing/boarding park city and loved it, however as an adult with kids went back a few times and was not happy with the managements treatment. Our son took off after ski school to go up the lift while I was getting the report on how he did and management was ready to blacklist us because our son was lost on the slopes for 30 min. Never went back! You should do review of Big sky montana it is the BEST family place to ski with ski in ski out homes all over and so much wide open space and trails and lifts it will blow your mind!

  • @jackfenton2271

The Canyons Base only has two lifts to get you up & out of the base. Both lifts are susceptible to wind holds.
This makes for very long waits to start your day. Start at the Park City side if possible. (42 year local)

one thing - I don’t think park city should be a 10 in lifts for one reason only. The dream catcher area is only fixed grip lifts, meaning that the only way to park city to canyons is on a super slow long fixed grip chair, right in the middle of the entire resort. A 9 would be fine, but that small area holds it back in my opinion.

I’d say the review was somewhat accurate, but as a local who’s seen the transformation and disrespect towards locals that has come since Vail took over, I’ll always have a bit of a chip on my shoulder towards Park City. However, it’s a good video. Please do some more Utah reviews such as Brighton and Snowbird!

One thing I think you forget to mention in these videos is how easy is it to travel via airplane. How easy is it to get plane rides to the resorts? What about public transportation (if possible). That's kind of the main thing I look for when traveling to a resort.

For the first one. Pricing is not bad if you live close to park city or other vale resorts and you go a lot. If you don't go a lot then I agree pricing would be a little to much

Powder mountain is the best place I’ve ever been. Almost as much skiable terrain as park city accessed by 6 lifts compared to park city’s like 100. And soooo much cheaper

Transportation should be a 10. You have Uber, Lyft, UTA (Utah Transit Authority), and rental car options from SLC International Airport. In the city limits of PC, you have access to a bus system throughout PC that is free on entry.
Lodging... 9.. seriously... Have you NOT been to DV with incredible lodging options that can be accessed easily by PC Public Transit, Uber, Lyft, and your car rental?
Food: It should be a 9 or 10. A few local restaurants here have been featured in Diners, Drive-in’s, and Dives.
Views... a field?? It’s farmland in the Snyderville Basin with some trails that can be seen if you’re at canyons and see the “field.” Just beyond that is Round Valley, open access recreational land for hiking, trail running, snowshoe, Nordic, horseback, MTB, fat and tire with 30-40 or so of trails. I have a pano from Round Valley facing the Wasatch Back which will change your mind.
    Ps. I’m a PC local.
