I am passionate about publishing my master's thesis, not for money, but for more people to read it. However, I was told it was not encouraged (normally) for postgraduate students to publish their thesis because the first publication is very important and can influence the author's academic reputation. Is this true? Thanks.
It's difficult for me to respond to this because I don't know the academic context in which you work. Here, in Canada, publishing from your Masters would indicate a potentially highly successful academic. Personally, I think the experience of publishing from your Masters would be beneficial, you'd be more prepared and confident to publish in the future.
@@cecilebadenhorst4997 Thank you for the kind response and sorry that I did not make it clear. I am writing my 18,000 words graduate thesis as a postgraduate student of coursework in Australia. Understanding that a research pathway in a Master's degree of coursework may not be as good as a Master's degree of research, but I am doing my best and hoping this could prepare me for an application for a Ph.D. study (with 3 Master's degrees of coursework). Your words are warm and encouraging. I will continue my preparation for publication and work hard. I like your videos as you explain things clearly, explicitly and precisely. I've learnt lots of things.
