I like when Cadillac sets a new standard with their own style and brand seperate from everyone else, rather than copying other GM models and putting a different face or rear fascia on their vehicles.

Nice review, as usual. Would have been better with a test drive along with you thought and feedback on handling, braking, etc.
Deals are out there. Local SoCal dealer has the Sport package with the 20 inch wheels, sunroof, and tech package for that price. Issue is limited space in rear compare with most cars in the same category ( i.e X1). Side space in all 4 doors is very poor,. No Recycling in back, but a very nice ride. X5 is almost the same price. Sure it's a V6 but many of the space limitations of it's sibling are dealt with.

Having just watched your review of the Acura RDX yesterday, it's easy to see the RDX would be the preferred of the two though it wasn't an actual comparison video. Being that they're in the same shopping category, I've often thought - "hmm...which would I get?" But it's easy to see now. Thanks

Parents bought a red premium lux with the 14 Bose upgrade and sunroof for 44k out the door. I'm considering doing the same with the sport edition personally, prefer the all black windows but in blue for 40k out the door. Like the car a lot

Nice exterior color. 48K is not much for a caddy but this vehicle doesn't seem to offer much more than a red Tucson which you can get for 15K less. :) The white or beige seats look out of place. the color of the seats was somebody's bad idea. Another great video from the best in the business!!!

I've seen quite a few XT5s on Buick lots with low mileage traded in for the last few LaCrosses left. Not all seniors like the crossover market, feel.

To answer the question, WRONG! for building it in the first place. The market is saturated with SUVs. Too damn many choices. Hell, the exotic car companies are making SUVs. The competition in that market is extremely competitive. I don't know, maybe there is a spot for it to fit in, but I think Mercedes, BMW, to name a couple, will steal their market, jus saying...

I’ve been in the 2019 XT4 and I do think it’s a quality SUV, there is a LOT of leather.

I was wondering what "trim line" you were critiquing every detail on, as each one has different trim & finishes. Just figured it out when I saw the tail lights... This is the $50,000 SPORT line.
Way overpriced for what you get! I mean, no Nav, no panoroof? $1200 of that price is just for that red paint alone! A bit disappointing😕

What a joke for $48,000! Where's the side view mirror turn signals & pano roof? White seats in a red colored vehicle? Dear Joe, Liking that silver XTS that was behind you!! I use to own a silver 2014 XTS that I had bought used & how I loved that car but it was front wheel drive, boo. Would you mind doing me a favor & reviewing that one for me! Thanks from the bottom of my feet!!..Hahaha... The XTS is true Caddy DNA!! Pure Class that competes with the Germans in my opinion.

They want waay too much money for that car! No self respecting car company with hopes of competing in the premium segment on an international level would construct their interiors with such low quality materials. I mean $50k is a lot of money for a small SUV, but when you get in one of the compact models from the German automakers, you're like: ok, I see how this might cost 50k. The Cadi on the other hand has got me thinking: no way I'm paying that much money, for this! They need to stop leaning on the Cadillac name, their (long) past success, and step it up. The sad thing is, I know they can; but they're just not doing it for whatever reason. In fact, they should take a page out Hyundai's playbook and get people thinking: damn, I can get this much... for that little?!

What small SUV is available that allows for this much content? Most of the time smaller means less options. Does the Mazda offer a surround view camera system?
I looked. The Mazda does have good content, but there are some things the Caddy has that are better or higher quality. I think if the small things matter the Caddy isn’t that bad of a deal.
Ha Joe Great Video. Something Just occurred to me. Why do they put pedal's on A automatic Kinda defense the Peruse . And with A little 4 banger I would Be Afraid to tare it Up. And with No navigation I Thought That Would be Standard for All Manufacturers On All Trim level's By Now. I Am not Knocking GM But I Still Think Are Trying To Hard . And Over Doing Things. Those are some great questions Armando. I would think if you lived in an area with elevation change and very twisty roads it might help to use the paddles. The price point on this XT4 is off.

Raiti's Rides I know. Up here in Canada it is an $1800 option. For $8000 less you can get a Mazda CX-5 Signature with Navigation and more power
Cadillac needed this size vehicle to compete with all the others in the segment and for those not wanting a three row. I wish they would have used the 3.6L that’s in the XT5. The Sport is the most expensive and kind of pricey though. Nice job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

i test drove one of those last week at Morse Cadillac in Brandon. it was a sport model but i have a red 2011 SRX. it's got the chrome 20s & chrome pillars . 35k mi. garage kept beauty. the xt4 was smaller & sportier but i like my SRX. after 2011 they started losing chrome & little details. i love my SRX but the tech is a little dated & gas mileage isn't that great. but for 30$$ difference no way. my SRX looks better in some ways , i still like chrome always will. don't get the fake vents , why not use the air to cool brakes. drives me nuts.
$48k is too much. You can get cuv's with V6 motors.

I bought one of these in Dec. 2018 and DUMPED IT by Feb 2019... FIRST PROBLEM.. a BIG ONE. NO NEEDLE ON THE GAS GAUGE... little lights, so no you can not read the gas gauge 'at a glance'.. its dangerous and it ran me out of gasoline TWICE... with leads me to the second problem, BAD GAS MILAGE AND SMALL GAS TANK, leaving you will short range, and a gas gauge thats impossible to read. Anyone that drives one of these over a weekend will HATE IT. Third, I sold a Mini Cooper Countryman that could read my phone (bluetooth connect) for full apple car play, WITHOUT plugging in... The Cadillac LOW TECH.. you need to 'PLUG IN' each time you enter the car... GEE.. my Mini Cooper had BETTER TECH than a Cadillac. Another thing... NO WHERE on this car does it say "CADILLAC" no emblems, no nothing... ????? If Im spending nearly $50,000 on a CADILLAC, by gosh I want EVERYONE ALL AROUND ME TO KNOW IT... I bought a really nice "CADILLAC" emblem on eBay and put it on the tail gate where it belongs. Cadillac is a TOTAL LOSER.
Nice looking but overpriced for a 4 banger. Cadillac should never make 4 cylinder models, I don't care how many turbos they slap on them.

Or at least give it enough horsepower to crack 7 seconds 0-60 time. Terrible and overpriced waste of money. Can’t hold a candle to a similarly priced BMW X1 or X3.

Yea, you have to look 'around' the steering wheel to find the start button... STUPID
This just can't match the overall package of the BMW X3 bi turbo with ZF 8 speed. The BMW has a much better interior with nicer materials all around. The BMW has more room and is definitely quicker. If you drop a B57 inline six in the X3 the game is over. This SSUV XT4 would have been more significant if it were released in 2015. But when BMW released the new X3 in 2018 it pulled ahead of this SSUV in all categories. This is a weak competitor in the segment. And the segment is really competitive at this point. You have the acura RDX as well which is probably a better buy then this. Not that this is not a really nice little SSUV. Its just a brutal segment to compete in these days. Some really serious competition. I guess it all boils down to how much discount one can get.

Those cars are way more expensive than the Cadillac. Starting prices are like 10k more.
@@Popzin101 Nope. I bought a pretty loaded BMW X3 for the 47K. MSRP was 54K. You can get good deals with the bimmers at the larger penski dealerships. It has the 2.0 bi turbo with ZF 8 speed. And it completely destroys this Cadillac in every metric one can measure. IMO, the X3 is the best SSUV right now. Only other one worth mentioning is the acura RDX. And only on the lower trim models. Once you jump into the advanced RDX you might as well go with the BMW again. However, if one can get this XT4 with a 6-7K dollar discount like the BMW then it might be worth a look. But at full MSRP its a joke. Its about 5 years too late for what it brings to the table. BMW is selling allot of SSUV's now. Their plant in South Carolina makes well over 400K cars a year and is one of the largest exporters of cars in the US. Very reliable now as well.
Seriously, do you know what "brushed" aluminum is? Every single reference you made to aluminum was that it was brushed which is factually wrong. Furthermore, I own one of these and many parts are chromed plastic. Get your facts straight if you're going to provide information to potential buyers.

You are paying a lot for the name. Hyundai, Kia, Mazda are miles ahead of this and way more affordable.
Dmocification except you may be burned alive shortly after purchasing your new Hyundai or KIA. Cadillacs aren’t having those issues. So maybe you’re paying for a little bit more than just a name.🤷🏽♂️

This is a typical GM product, it falls short in material quality, power and smart engineering.
Neal Manning you don’t know what you’re talking about. GM’s engineering is *literally* some of the best in the business. This XT4 is adequately powered and in the same ballpark of the competition in the segment, and the material quality is on par with other *entry* level premium crossovers. This ain’t a Escalade.
All that and GMs quality is better than Honda and Toyota...lol not.

I’d get a CX-5 turbo or a Cherokee turbo. This Cadillac can’t tow , can’t even climb a sidewalk without damage the bumper, is not the quickest, not the most comfortable, not the most technology advanced, not the most spacious, neither the most efficient. I can’t see any reason to buy this fancy chevy.
