Personally I’d say yes and that I bought one that looks nearly identical to the one you reviewed. I drove a 2020 Escalade for a week on a test, bought this instead. Side note- there is a menu selection in the settings to turn off the auto lock BTW.
Love the XT4 which is why I’ve watched every single review of it. It is kind of in between the BMW X3 and X1. I like it much better than the X1 and I like the value better than the X3. I am a BMW fan so that says something. I like it better than the Lexus NX. We will most likely order a fully loaded Sport package in 2021 in white. Black looks good but so hard to not look dirty and shows every single swirl or scratch in the paint. BTW the spare tire or the inflator depending on what you order is available. The dealers are starting to mention this because of the confusion. Good review.

comparing the costs for both manufactures the XT4 wins hands down, not to say the Germans don't have a great ride, I just traded my 2018 XT5 for the 2020 XT4 and couldn't be happier. I did get most 'bells and whistles" as you demonstrated in your review. You review just enhances confidence that I made the right choice.
I've owned the XT4 Sport for over a year and all I can say is BUY IT!! Beautiful ride, gets noticed and gets comments...and YES the sound system is phenomenal!!
I just got my 2021 xt4 premium luxury yesterday and I honestly love it. I had a v6 Camaro before and of course it was another world in terms of driving feel and fun. However, I'm married now with a child on the way, and seeing how comfortable my wife was driving the car combined with how happy I am with it has really made the decision feel great. Loved the review! Love the car.
I'll say this as someone who actually lives with a caddy with auto lock, I actually love it! It makes me feel like james bond as I leave sometimes. I don't even have to look back, or dig my keys out of my pocket, or hit anything on the door handle when my hands are full.
Great video, well done! I actually bought an XT4 Sport after watching this. My recommendation to all XT4 owners as a day one mod is to upgrade the intake air filter to the K&N filter version. It definitely improved throttle performance.
Loved watching this - just purchased a 2021 XT4 and REALLY like it. Having driven it for a month now I find it hard to find anything I don't like about the vehicle. Mike does a terrific job here.

First time I’m actually proud to be an owner of a certain vehicle brand and I’m not sure I could be pried away from many moreCadillacs down the road. I only had a single flat tire so far ( covered under warranty too) and all the features and instruments just seem to be a perfect match for me. Hope you enjoy yours half as much as I enjoy mine!
I have owned a Luxury XT4 for 2 years now and I absolutely love it One thing is to buy a car because you like it, another is to love it even more after you own it It has excellent power when I need it, and yes I have not ever heard any other sound system like this Bose 13 speakers that does not distort when in full volume. A pleasure listen to any music genre, eq really works, loud when you want it, also lower the vol automatically when you stop and back to desired level when riding. Loaded with tech and features I can go on and on but just want to say "Go for it, it is a solid fun luxury awesome looking investment". PD I don't care about German cars I buy made in the USA
I know this video is a few years old but not a whole lot has changed. My wife and I bought the absolutely loaded XT4 Sport with everything on it. It was a black ice exterior color and an almost burgundy leather interior. Absolutely stunning. I had 2 major hang ups and that’s why I traded it after only 2 months of ownership. 1. I don’t care if it’s a turbo engine it just doesn’t deliver decent horsepower for a Cadillac. If I’m spending a bunch of money on a Cadillac I want it to have some really good performance numbers or at least the option to get a bigger engine but that’s the only power source available. 2. One night my wife was driving our XT4 Sport and I was riding with my brother and he was following my wife. He said “Gregory, your wife must’ve high tailed it out of here to get home because she’s gone!” I said “no, she’s in front of us” and then he looks at me with a dead serious look and said “I thought you got a new Cadillac. The car if front of us looks a 2011 Honda CR-V from behind!” I took offense because I’ve had other people say that very same thing. I want something that looks different! One of Cadillacs trademarks are their rear taillight fins and the newer models don’t have very much of those fins left. If I want that unmistakable look I’ve got to buy a $100,000.00+ Escalade. I ended up getting a used 2022 red XT-5 Sport Platinum with only 9,855 miles on it and I couldn’t be happier. Excellent performance and nice tech options. I’ll never understand why Cadillac got rid of the 5.1 surround sound system options. The Cadillac badge is all about luxury and performance. There’s nothing quite like cruising down the interstate listening to Porcupine Tree or Rush in 5.1 surround sound but everything has gone to streaming and thus not so good audio quality.

I’ve been an Import enthusiast most of my life but and would’ve never given Cadillac a second look until I started seeing a few of these on the road recently and I have to admit…they look very very sleek, especially in this particular trim. No lie, this xt4 is looking super nice , elegant aggressive and sporty looking, in my opinion this one looks a lot more better than the BMW X1, X2, and better than Lexus NX and probably the RX .!!
One thing you didn’t mention is the Cadillac owner experience and warranty length. I only buy my wife Cadillacs partly due to how the treat her at the dealer.

Very Hard for me to decide - I was going SUV up until Nov 2020 when a coworker had a all black Ram Pick up, that swayed me to the Ram. But the XT4, XT5 as well as the 2 cars Cadillac makes- CT4-V and CT5-V, I would have waited for the Blackwing but needed a vehicle by the end of 2020. - Great review by the way. (I also tested the Lexus NX/UX and liked them but the sales method had me paying alot more then the discount so I walked away.)
This was given to me as a loner from Cadillac, this 2.0T was way more fun to drive than its bigger brother XT5's 3.6. The throttle in sport mode was so responsive that the tires would briefly lose its grip from just medium acceleration. Maybe the tires were still too new but that was my experience.
Every manufacturer puts their name on every piece of glass. The leather seat comments make total sense, especially if you’ve driven expensive/premium cars most of your life.
I bout XT4 in June 2020 and I am loving it. I checked Audi Q3 but for the same amount I get so much technology and features in XT4. Q3 does not even have memory seat and HUD in any trim.
Just stumbled across your reviews and do like your style! As a EU citizen (Belgium) I'm very familiar with the German brands, however the exterior styling on this car with the black details is very nice. The interior however, on the tech departement and dash layout.. not so great and thats a pitty. The new dash of the 2020/21 escalade with the screen design is cool however. Love the exterior color and tangerine like interior color. Would love to see more of these cadillacs rolling around Europe, but i´m afraid due to engine regulation and COx output, within EU, the Germans will hold strong. Nice! My dad is from Belgium and I was born in Mortsel, just outside of Antwerpen. North Americans have it lucky with cars, that’s for sure. Don’t always have every car, but have access to them quite easily. Thanks for watching!
My car has that auto-lock feature and honestly, it's useful. Especially for those he-man moments when you load yourself up with all the groceries or something that requires both hands. Even carrying your sleeping child in. You have no hands to lock your door while walking away. But it will automatically do it for you. So you don't have to worry about remembering to lock the door after you put your child to bed, or putting away all the groceries, ect.
Love this XT4 to the point of serious consideration of next car for Wife. Still not sold on Cadillac reliability as reviews tend to be average at best. We usually keep cars in the 8 to 10 year range.
I saw this same vehicle yesterday, it is the first mid size SUV that has caught my eye and caused me to research it once home, It is the one domestic I would buy until I specced one out and looked at the end price. At that point I said to myself I will stick with my plan of getting an EV in a 2 yr period or dependent what one can buy one of these for used w low km's and warranty I may consider but honestly by then how smart will it be to buy a gas vehicle. I do like how it looks but I have never owned a domestic and I am in my mid 50's currently driving an Audi and prior Japanese only. Been very happy w Audi and was w previsous japanese cars but going back a while to TL Type S, owned the RDX twice , but it was just a vehicle and then was a 15 WRX which was a real blast. However I am older now so probably wont return to an STi or WRX. I do love the rear and front of the vehicle and the interior looks great but how is the 2.0 and what is reliability like and resale? What would this cost in Canada spec'd out just like this one as thats how I would want it?

Normally I like your reviews - camera work, music = thumbs up, but for having this crossover for a week and not knowing how to properly operate it and criticize it unjustly is a big thumbs down. The setting in CUE is what is autolocking it. You criticize the the car for your own lack of knowledge of it. Get to know the car before critiquing something that should not have been negatively criticized. That's a 'cargo cover' not a shelf, ergo it is not meant to put anything on it that is heavy. You say the customer will not be buying this car as something fast but in the review You are using the paddle shifters and complaining about them. So, a little about using paddle shifters in a Cadillac - In sport manual it will not upshift in that mode because it is You who are supposed to upshift using the paddle. The only thing that sucks about the paddle shifters is the person who does not know how to properly use them ;). When is sport manual, take it to redline each time before using the paddle to upshift...I guarantee you will be pleased. In Sport Manual don't be concerned about using the paddles to downshift in a 9 speed trans, it will just result in improper timing for a downshift - the car will automatically downshift as the car slows, BUT it will not upshift unless you use the paddle to upshift. In sport mode it will automatically upshift, but not in Sport Manual. Please, before your next review, learn how to use the various features of the car, otherwise the review is full of inaccuracies.
You nailed it, I was thinking about a few things you mentioned, I have 2017 xt5 , only think I want to know at this point, is it more confortable, because the xt5 front seats is not. Got à cts4 2012 also and 2006 cts, confortable as hell!
Stay away. Look up the problem with the purge pump. I’ve been waiting over two months for mine to be repaired at a dealership in Charlottesville, Virginia. It’s a common problem with these Cadillacs and they don’t have replacements available.
i prefer the button on the handle like that. that behind the handle thing never works fast enough. also, i open the door with my thumb on that area anyways. why do you even use the key to unlock...that is what the button is for. Autolock will be set for like 5 seconds. hands free.
Just bought the 2023 XT4 and I love it. Yes I know 2024 will have the newest refresh, but that also means Cadillac dealerships are working overtime to unload their 2023 models, And in my case I got a fanatic deal. I don't think the Luxary version has the BOSE sound system though, but please correct me if I'm mistaken.
How are you liking it? Seriously considering the xt4 but need a car now and the 2024 won’t be here for at least another month… 2023 small infotainment system made me sad though. Does the screen bother you? How’s reliability of everything?
@@vivianokakpu6185 PROS 1. Fast & agile 2. Nice infotainment center 3. Best seating in class, (the main reason I wanted this SUV). 4. Interior design feels & looks great. Cons. 1. Gas mileage seems on the lower end. 2. The down automatic down shifting can be annoying while driving. 3. Break pedal seems to be stiffer then most other brands, (you need to press harder on the break pedal). 3. The rain sense technology for the window wipers is not as sensitive as competitor car companies. Pro/Con The exterior - Interior may seem on the dated side. This could be a pro of con, depending on what you like. Suggestion, don't buy one until after July. The new model should drop at the end of June and the while infotainment center will be completely replaced with the latest. As well the from grill with get a retouch & the rear lights will be upgraded to LED.

@@vivianokakpu6185 another considerable advantage with the XT4 is that you can get the oil change done anywhere. This is because they purposely made the location & type of filter generic. Many premium cars require that only the dealership competes the oil changes - which can cost $$$ after the 1st free one. XT4 unfortunately does require premium gasoline though.
@@Capcom007 yes the oil change is a good point. Premium fuel is what my current car uses so that’s not a problem. The wait to even see the newer xt4 is a lot but thank you for the extra info! So helpful speaking to people who have the current cars I’m interested in!!
For ladies who travel alone quite a bit, the flimsy cover in the back is good for hiding our luggage. Does the 2020 XT4 have embedded CUE navigation OR Onstar navigation?
I have a 2020 XT4 Premium Luxury and I love it. However I must comment about the auto lock. You can turn it off. Also the key is not designed to look like the hood. There are many V shaped things on this car, all designed to make you think it is referring to Cadillac's V series cars and the shape of the Cadillac logo.
If you don’t know it. Cadillacs are made right before 5pm on a Friday . If you ask why I state that is. I have the Cadillac record for the most breakdowns by the manufacturer. It was a 2013 ATS performance . I give caddy credit for one thing. Acknowledging that true fact. It was my second consecutive 🍋 lemon and they gave me my money back fully . I was a customer for 35 years prior. Nice looking yes . But craftsmanship void these days. Hopefully they can change it.

Love this XT4 to the point of serious consideration of next car for Wife. Still not sold on Cadillac reliability as reviews tend to be average at best. We usually keep cars in the 8 to 10 year range.
I'm 3 years into an XT4 Sport and nothing more than an oil change and tire rotation. And I've yet to pay for any of it! Reliability is great!
I saw this same vehicle yesterday, it is the first mid size SUV that has caught my eye and caused me to research it once home, It is the one domestic I would buy until I specced one out and looked at the end price. At that point I said to myself I will stick with my plan of getting an EV in a 2 yr period or dependent what one can buy one of these for used w low km's and warranty I may consider but honestly by then how smart will it be to buy a gas vehicle. I do like how it looks but I have never owned a domestic and I am in my mid 50's currently driving an Audi and prior Japanese only. Been very happy w Audi and was w previsous japanese cars but going back a while to TL Type S, owned the RDX twice , but it was just a vehicle and then was a 15 WRX which was a real blast. However I am older now so probably wont return to an STi or WRX. I do love the rear and front of the vehicle and the interior looks great but how is the 2.0 and what is reliability like and resale? What would this cost in Canada spec'd out just like this one as thats how I would want it?

Great review style. But no spare tire. Ouch. How can this engine buy both regular and premium fuel? Keep these reviews coming. Please review the XT5 with the V-6 engine.
Normally I like your reviews - camera work, music = thumbs up, but for having this crossover for a week and not knowing how to properly operate it and criticize it unjustly is a big thumbs down. The setting in CUE is what is autolocking it. You criticize the the car for your own lack of knowledge of it. Get to know the car before critiquing something that should not have been negatively criticized. That's a 'cargo cover' not a shelf, ergo it is not meant to put anything on it that is heavy. You say the customer will not be buying this car as something fast but in the review You are using the paddle shifters and complaining about them. So, a little about using paddle shifters in a Cadillac - In sport manual it will not upshift in that mode because it is You who are supposed to upshift using the paddle. The only thing that sucks about the paddle shifters is the person who does not know how to properly use them ;). When is sport manual, take it to redline each time before using the paddle to upshift...I guarantee you will be pleased. In Sport Manual don't be concerned about using the paddles to downshift in a 9 speed trans, it will just result in improper timing for a downshift - the car will automatically downshift as the car slows, BUT it will not upshift unless you use the paddle to upshift. In sport mode it will automatically upshift, but not in Sport Manual. Please, before your next review, learn how to use the various features of the car, otherwise the review is full of inaccuracies.

You nailed it, I was thinking about a few things you mentioned, I have 2017 xt5 , only think I want to know at this point, is it more confortable, because the xt5 front seats is not. Got à cts4 2012 also and 2006 cts, confortable as hell!

if you have a remote access key, why are you pulling them out to unlock? when you can just press the button just before you pull the door handle?
I don’t think you followed along. I wasn’t locking it. It was automatically locking consistently, so if you walk around the vehicle.. it locked.

Stay away. Look up the problem with the purge pump. I’ve been waiting over two months for mine to be repaired at a dealership in Charlottesville, Virginia.
It’s a common problem with these Cadillacs and they don’t have replacements available.

i prefer the button on the handle like that. that behind the handle thing never works fast enough. also, i open the door with my thumb on that area anyways. why do you even use the key to unlock...that is what the button is for. Autolock will be set for like 5 seconds. hands free.
FYI the 350T badge is referring to the torque output in metric: 258 lb-ft = 350 N-m of torque. Why did Cadillac so this? We may never know.

Good looking car but falls short on smile factor
Just bought the 2023 XT4 and I love it. Yes I know 2024 will have the newest refresh, but that also means Cadillac dealerships are working overtime to unload their 2023 models, And in my case I got a fanatic deal. I don't think the Luxary version has the BOSE sound system though, but please correct me if I'm mistaken.
How are you liking it? Seriously considering the xt4 but need a car now and the 2024 won’t be here for at least another month… 2023 small infotainment system made me sad though. Does the screen bother you? How’s reliability of everything?

PROS
1. Fast & agile
2. Nice infotainment center
3. Best seating in class, (the main reason I wanted this SUV).
4. Interior design feels & looks great.
Cons.
1. Gas mileage seems on the lower end.
2. The down automatic down shifting can be annoying while driving.
3. Break pedal seems to be stiffer then most other brands, (you need to press harder on the break pedal).
3. The rain sense technology for the window wipers is not as sensitive as competitor car companies.
Pro/Con The exterior - Interior may seem on the dated side. This could be a pro of con, depending on what you like.
Suggestion, don't buy one until after July. The new model should drop at the end of June and the while infotainment center will be completely replaced with the latest. As well the from grill with get a retouch & the rear lights will be upgraded to LED.
@@Capcom007 thank you! That’s where I’m at now but it’s hard to wait so I was looking at the GLA/GLC which is nice but so expensive vs how loaded I can get the xt4. Plus the height and true suv styling of the xt4 is more of what I want.
@@vivianokakpu6185 another considerable advantage with the XT4 is that you can get the oil change done anywhere. This is because they purposely made the location & type of filter generic.
Many premium cars require that only the dealership competes the oil changes - which can cost $$$ after the 1st free one.
XT4 unfortunately does require premium gasoline though.
@@Capcom007 yes the oil change is a good point. Premium fuel is what my current car uses so that’s not a problem. The wait to even see the newer xt4 is a lot but thank you for the extra info! So helpful speaking to people who have the current cars I’m interested in!!
Always makes me laugh when a manufacturer sells a "blackout package" and fails to blackout the wheels or the rear emblems.

which model is this XT4? I am torn between XT4 Sport or the GLA250? Both used low miles and around same price point? Help
The auto lock can be changed in the settings along with many other features. My wife has this model.

You need to explain to all the number designation on back. As in 258 ft lb equals 350 NM.

I have a 2020 XT4 Premium Luxury and I love it. However I must comment about the auto lock. You can turn it off. Also the key is not designed to look like the hood. There are many V shaped things on this car, all designed to make you think it is referring to Cadillac's V series cars and the shape of the Cadillac logo.

If you don’t know it. Cadillacs are made right before 5pm on a Friday . If you ask why I state that is. I have the Cadillac record for the most breakdowns by the manufacturer.
It was a 2013 ATS performance . I give caddy credit for one thing. Acknowledging that true fact. It was my second consecutive 🍋 lemon and they gave me my money back fully . I was a customer for 35 years prior. Nice looking yes . But craftsmanship void these days. Hopefully they can change it.
