I know this video is old but sadly the quality at high speeds through a trail is just not worth the cost - despite the great form factor. Just way too much pixelization and aliasing.
I would love to see a comparison between the Max and the x3. Feel like this still is the main struggle when it comes to decide what action cam to get for biking. I don't know if it isn't possible for you to do because of your sponsor's, but i think it would be the ultimate comparison video. Love your videos, keep it up.
I shoot exclusively with Insta360 cameras now but I can say you can capture better angles and follow the trail easier with the insta360 direction lock feature. You have more settings on the X3, I like being able to fine tune the shutter speeds and iso more so than a GoPro, I also like the overall feel of the footage more. The max is less grainy in darker conditions and is easier to colour grade. Overall, the X3 is my fave.
Would like to see some more vertical framed shots of this thing from the visor mount? Looks like a great solution to having a heavy action cam mounted under there
Do you always use the freeform setting? And what FOV do you prefer? Bought the new 3S and the regular video setting has a action FOV thats supposed to give more height
Do I need to take the entire camera on a ride to take videos? Do they need to be in range of one another? I was hoping to only take the tiny part with me and leave the larger housing in the car.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB yeah fair enough and this looks like a paid promo. The GoPro max is 4 years old now and still better. I was hoping we’d have smaller super wider angle cameras with better quality but the tech clearly isn’t there yet. The pixelation in your footage might be okay for stories but not YT or above a phone screen.

What is your preferred direction of whipping/scrubbing? It is very hard to tell..

Back tire to the left is slightly stronger but I like both directions I just have a different technique for each direction
I tend to go back wheel to the left more often but I don't really have a preferred side, it depends on the type of jump.

Not comparable cameras. This is like 1/5th the size and featherweight in comparison. The X3 is similar to the max but with more features
