    Excellent video but the bass is not at all shown in the demo, this is the normal problem in videos. The best thing to do is be very descriptive of what you're hearing because it's next to impossible to capture it in a video

    This is the best version of the 12 trtp12 I have seen on youtube....but I don't have that storage underneath.... so e erything will be in my hatch.... 90's style.... all showing amp rack... yes it will cost more... but I already have everything... and I mean everything.... kicker everything... front doors... rear doors... all new Kicker tweeters all doors.... sound deadener hatch... and front rear doors.... fast rings... speed wiring... 400 ft 12g kicker wires... 1 g battery ... 4 g amp... 3 amps total.... under front seat 2 ways... to balance off the bass from 12.. also kicker battery terminal replacements... I have so much shit... I even have 4 fans for my amp rack... with a SMD heat monitor.. with auto turn on for temperature control... I have so much more shit... I have shit I don't need... I have 2 Loc's... both kicker... I also have the kicker Front Row... brand new still in the packaging... for my DSP... after 10 years ago... I have speaker carpet to cover all levels of my amp rack.. as well as a new spare tire well... that has to have a split access to my spare tire... 3 level amp rack... sub... amps... loc's and dsp on top rack... everything enclosed in a case... like a mini deli counter.... my name is MUNCHONEM.... so why not.... I have an installer already lined up here in Newark NJ.... so wish me luck.... im trying to figure out... LED. Lighting in my drafts... but im thinking one color... white... simple deli counter..

    • @Jsims111
      @Jsims111 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's probably a cleaner install. That Amp does accept high level inputs but doesn't have a gracefully way to connect stripped wire ends. One would have to butcher a poor set of RCAs to plug into the amp.

    Nice video Josh. How would you describe the sound of this Sub enclosure...more like a sealed box or a ported one? Or maybe a combination of both?..

    • @BreakersStereo
      @BreakersStereo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. It played pretty deep but accurate as well. So I’d say both

    • @Lui5_torre5
      @Lui5_torre5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Passive radiator setups are often closer to sounding like a ported enclosure but without the chuffing that happens when you play lower than the port is tuned for. The response is also similar to a ported enclosure in that it is "tuned" to sound it's loudest at a specific frequency and anything below that is going to level off significantly, i.e. like a ported box

  • @PereiraLabs
    @PereiraLabs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    With a passive radiator, wouldn’t that cause phase cancellation with the sub? Correct me if I’m wrong, but in a sealed enclosure, as the woofer pushes out, it would create negative pressure inside the enclosure, causing the radiator to pull in, making the motions of the sub and radiator at constant opposites of each other. Wouldn’t this actually reduce perceived low end because of phase cancellation? Or am I completely off base?

    • @BreakersStereo
      @BreakersStereo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ok great observation and if you watch this box play it does look like one is pushing and on is pulling. But it’s not the same as if you wired woofer out of phase…. When woofers are out of phase they are working against each other causing you to hear no bass. But with a passive radiator it use the energy of the subwoofer as an assistant, kind of like a port. Ok I hope that explanation helps. Thanks for the comment it was a really good one.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The weight of the passive radiator is calculated so that it moves slower than the subwoofer. At it's tuned frequency the radiator is 1/2 a wave behind the sub and the output increases. It basically works just like a port on a ported box. The port moves the air back and forth and the passive radiator does the same exact thing. The pro is that the box can be smaller, the con is the added cost of the radiator.

    Since the CXA800.1 amp is putting out 600w RMS @ 2ohms to the sub that’s only rated at 500w rms @ 2ohms will that cause the sub to blow or anything??

    • @christianheredia3428
      @christianheredia3428 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This sub peaks at 1000watts , I run mine at 600watts at 2ohms and it’s okay

      @@christianheredia3428 thanks i installed this exact sub yesterday with a 800w amp 600w at 2ohm just wanted to make sure it was safe to do

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is unlikely the impedance of the sub is getting down to 2 ohms playing music. So your never going to actually see that 600 watts. So you'll be fine. Just don't feed the sub a clipped signal.

    can this subwoofer the 10 inch version be mounted on the tail gate facing forward towards the front seats?? (I have a '21 Bronco and the tailgate seems like the best place without losing too much cargo space)

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but loading the driver by facing it against a panel does boost output. The sub facing forward will work fine, you'll just need to increase the bass knob a little compared to it firing downward.

    But not in this original kicker box in a custom box for Tacoma‘s ?

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a tuned combo. If you take the subwoofer and passive radiator and put it into a custom box you will need to make sure you have the same exact airspace as the original box. If the airspace differs it's going to change the tuning of the passive radiator.
