    I thinks it's great. Especially for doing musical-sketches in the evening, relaxed without a PC on my couch. And sequencing other synth with is a dealbreaker for me. Looking forward!

    Hey Novation I know you're probably not gonna reply, but let me tell you what I think : should do analog synthesis products again (like the drum/A/bass-station). You should make a really powerful analog drum machine and/or a cheap one with a GREAT sequencer (the circuit's seq seems actually to be good). There is nothing concurrencing the volca beats (at least in the analog category) and a lot of people aren't satisfied with this unit because of its sequencer and its versatility. YOU have a place right THERE ! Now do ! :)

      NovationTV I like very much the interaction you have with your customers. It is really nice to see a brand asking for feedback, whereas most of them are totally ignoring their customers. That is something I will remember the next time I have to choose between a Novation product and another one :)

    Damn I gotta get me one of these! I'd really like to see a PC/Mac editor for the synthesis engine though, so we could load it up with our own presets. if it had an editor like what Ultranova has (which is brilliant by the way), Circuit would be killer! anyway, I'm looking forward to picking up one of these babies very soon, and annoying my wife while she's trying to watch TV. (Actually, I realise that I own 7 different Novation products now, starting with the KS Rack... stop making so much cool gear... I can't stop buying!!!)

    Not that impressive of a performance, nothing like Nev on the launchpad (which got me into this music in the first place). But I still am intrigued by the design. Probably will get one just to see what I can do with it! (Just to say, I got early access to this video via Novation, and the original was a little better.)

      +NovationTV wow am impressed that you actually replied, that's amazing tbh
      It's hard to explain, I produce neurofunk and expected more "spontaneity" in that product. I hoped for some sick, yet basic synths to mess around with, something that would make me profit from limitations, I expected something "more efficient" that would lead me into ways I haven't done my stuff before, simply more of a producer kind of thing.
      Again, I can't really express what I expected this product to be, but it went from defo-buy-it to maybe-give-it-a-shot-one-day

    Okay, let's place a TR-808 and a turntable next to the Novation, for credibility. Fact is, no matter how many fashionable guys with beards you put in these promotional videos, the unit is still nothing more than a toy. If Novation was serious, they would have added editing capabilities, for the synth parts, and made it, at least, sixteen part multitimbral (and please let me decide if I wish to use those parts for drums or synths). Currently, the limitations guarantee approximately one day of fun; after that, the sounds will become redundant and boring. The concept, however, is great. Please, Novation, offer a professional product for professional users. Certainly, I'm not the only person who would be willing to pay two or three times the current price for added functionality. As is, this round goes to the Electribe 2 sampler. Sorry, Novation. If you continue along these lines, you'll end up at the same place that Casio has landed.

      Erik Kirton sounds to me like you want to spend over 1,000 dollars, then go do that lmfao Not everyone has that absurd amount of money to spend on equipment, it's an inspirational groovebox you tool.
      For a toy it sure is expensive. Lmfao, then that must make my Maschine a toy as well since they both aren't over a grand each. Get real, an instrument is an instrument and some people ask for way too FUCKING much. Just buy Komplete 11 Ultimate then.

    • @erikkirton
      @erikkirton 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, that wasn't actually my point, and I apologize if that's the impression you received from my comment. I certainly do not advocate spending that much money on "classics." I simply dislike the use of instruments, like the TR-808 or TB-303, for instance, being placed next to consumer products as a way of suggesting that the two units are somehow related (the Circuit and the TR-808 can't even be synced without the help of a DIN to MIDI adapter). A synth manufacturer should not have to rely on cheap tricks to gain credibility. If you've read some of my other comments, you'll will have also discovered that I oppose the purist attitude of presuming that a "real" TB-303 is somehow better sounding than any of the dozen clones on the market today. Personally, I've owned a TR-909, a TR-606, two MC-202s, an SH-101, two TR-808s, and two TB-303s, but today I have Roland Aira equipment in my studio. Getting back to the Novation, however, my main complaint was that , at the time I wrote the comment, the Circuit could not load user samples, nor could the synth engine be edited. Obviously, I wasn't the only person to feel that way. Shortly after I wrote that, Novation remedied most of the things I complained about: It's now possible to edit the synths; up to 64 user samples can be loaded; through one-sample-per-step, even the 16 part multitimbral complaint has been taken care of. Good job, Novation! Lastly, an instrument is not simply an instrument. If I'm limited to the point that I can't express myself (i.e. uniquely), then it's useless. That's also why my main instruments are still, after damn near 20 years, a Nord Modular G1 and an E-Mu Morpheus, both of which can be had for around the same price as the Novation Circuit (which, by the way, after they fixed all the things I listed, I also own).

    • @robertgarvansnyder4665
      @robertgarvansnyder4665 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To your point: Novation have no added full synth editing. Not to mention, when you factor in how powerful Circuit is as a midi sequencer for other gear - it's so much more than a toy. (Factoring in the cost and form factor, for what it is, it's absolutely brilliant.)

    • @dvdny
      @dvdny 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nord mod for a few hundred bucks? Show me that listing, I'll by that straight away. I don't even think you can get a morpheus for that little anymore, their numbers 'in the wild' are dwindling, and they're slowly being discovered, as has the DX200, and a bunch of other previously affordable 'toy boxes'. I kind of get your point, but Novation has some street cred, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and as you mentioned, they came through with the needed updates to make this a proper instrument. They've even expanded on it with the 'mono station', I can't wait to see what that's all about. Have a good day...

    • @erikkirton
      @erikkirton 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Nord Modular G1, which is the model I own, has an average selling price of under 550 €, and the Morpheus goes for around 390 €, if it's in mint condition. Still, I only mentioned them in reference to my own productions. Each person should find the tools that work best for her or him. Please also note that, when I made my original comment, the Novation was little more than a one-trick-pony. In the meantime, most of the negative aspects have been remedied. On the other hand, there are a few things that are still sorely missed. For instance, it's impossible to edit the unit, without the use of a computer; likewise, sample import is unnecessarily complicated. Both of those issues could have been easily fixed. If Novation had allowed sample import, directly from USB (i.e. external HD), and offered a separate device, similar to the Launch Control, for editing, it would have a tremendous improvement. Nonetheless, the Circuit is a fantastic step in the right direction. Ultimately, I would like to see a pro-version, with expanded memory (or sample streaming), and onboard editing capabilities. True, it would raise the price a bit, but it would still be less expensive than an Octatrack, to use another example.
