    The trippiest part of that whole video is when he knocked over the camera. Because I'm currently laying on my back in a garage. And all of a sudden there he is looking down at me asking if I'm OK:)

    Excellent tutorial! I love that oil filter wrench also. It will take any filter off no matter how tight! Must have tool for me too! 🔧🔧

      I hate the typical "band" type. They never seem to work for me. It was always something I struggled with before I got that "claw" style shown here.
      Of course you can always just stab it with a screw driver.
      Thanks easy fix!

    When removing ,do I have to do anything to keep the cooler fluid from leaking out

      I think it would probably be best to drain the coolant beforehand, or maybe put vicegrips on the coolant lines if you really don't want to do that. It may end with air in your coolant lines, though.

    I've got a 2019 wrx and I've got and oil sheen all around the oil cooler and going down the valve cover but can not find where is coming from.. I believe this video may have solve my issue.. atleast I hope it did... I also get a burning oil smell in the cabin under WOT wondering if the WOT and high pressure is when it finds its way out

      I didn't notice it too much until wide open throttle bud mine flinged oil everywhere and has oil in the same spot I see that and a bit from the head but it is most prominent right where he shows in this video and I'm assuming this hopefully could be my fix too

    Thanks for the video!
    Changed oil and noticed leak, but the grease was all over so mechanic did degrease everything and waited for 3 days drive. Thankfully the block is not leaking but the oil cooler itself is oily outside. But mechanic told that’s it’s most likely not the gasket but the cooler itself as the connection of oil cooler and the block was mostly dry.
    In your experience how often do the oil coolers leak? Just the oil cooler is more expensive than the gasket and mechanic is not 100% sure.

    there's oil leaking.pretty bad from the front on the tribeca near the the oil filter just past the oil filter could it be oil cooler gssket? oil drips right in the middle while idling

    • @bruceyyyyy
      @bruceyyyyy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's likely. Both are EZ30D engines although this is the older one versus what's in the Tribeca.

    So do you need to drain your coolant prior to this?

      Yup, or at least be ready to top it back off.

      You can capture and reuse with a clean container. I would consider replacing the soft lines at that point too.

    Would that gasket cause leak on passenger side ?

    • @k1wi_steve
      @k1wi_steve ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, more than likely you have A valve cover gasket leak and or a head gasket issue.

  • @IsleOfFeldspar

    NOT so easy for me. The fel-pro gasket was slightly too big and even though I could cram it in its groove, it wouldn’t stay in long enough to mount the cooler - try though I may. So I looked at the old gasket. No cracks even when bent double with pliers. So I reversed the old gasket and tightened it up. Time will tell. So I suggest ‘dealer only part’.
