      Yes, I think you are right. I think people believe that the pastor has a closer connection to God, and if we are near the pastor, it will rub off. People worship celebrities too. Makes little sense to me.

      @Md Anik And where do you find in all the Bible that Jesus told people not to call him Lord or Master or Saviour or God?
      Mohammed never allowed that people called him. Allah... But Jesus is adored and prayed to and worshipped all the time and He never prevented that. So... The only reason can be: He is God. And worthy all our adoration.

    • @aliasreco
      @aliasreco 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Md Anik Thank you! I did read the Coran from A to Z. And studied theology for three years. I find in Christ and in a living church with serious Christians à lot of peace. When we pray God answers and when we worship Christ He fills us with His presence. Read Psalm 59. Living with God in a relation is a reality there and it can be for us too. Shalom to you.

    “For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.”

This is why I don’t listen to Hillsong, Todd White, other megachurches and televangelists etc. Like just because a certain ministry is trendy and popular doesn’t mean it is a truly biblical Christian ministry. And I’m under no obligation to follow them, I’m gonna follow Jesus instead. This is something that should be talked about more within the church, especially with newer Christians because they’re still learning.

    "What are you being fed at church?" - Great title & great question. People at 'church' are being fed a bunch of watered-down Scriptures, as well as the do-nothing / easy believeism / fire insurance / make me feel good / smorgasbord style of "Christianity" that has become so prevalent. They have absolutely no idea is required to be a True Believer & Follower of the Lord & Saviour - adherence & obedience to His teachings & commands as recorded in the four Gospels. He did question: "Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, but do not do what I say?', and, He very clearly told us that the ROAD is NARROW and the WAY is HARD which leads TO LIFE and that FEW will FIND IT. The Father said this of the Son: "This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. HEAR HIM." Most people do not want to hear Him because what He has to say is TOO DIFFICULT & HARD for them to accept and swallow. It is time to hear Him and worship Him in Spirit & Truth - not according to man-made customs, dictates, & traditions. Your Eternal Destiny depends on it.

    • @juice2307
      @juice2307 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much this. This is not to say tradition is bad, but rather that tradition should never outright contradict the scriptures. Eternal security is one of these heresies that came after the reformation that leads people to hell, because they no longer try to “run the race” as Saint Paul says in his letters, or “endure to the end” as Christ says in the gospel. They do as they please, live as though they were not baptized with the Holy Spirit despite it happening, thusly as is stated in Hebrews, they who were grafted onto the vine yet refused to bear fruit are removed.

There is so much we need to do after we are saved, like running the race like others mentioned, but running the race is not part of salvation. It’s when we are saved then we can start running the race 😃. People tend to mix running the race with salvation. Or they think people who believe the true gospel that we are saved by grace believe we don’t need to run the race. We need to be saved and we need to run the race. But running the race, which we need to do, is not part of salvation. Totally agree with you my brother! We need to feed the milk and the meat of the word. But that is not salvation. That is spiritual growth and growing in the knowledge of the Lord after we are already saved. That is growing in our walk as Christians. It’s true that the true gospel is not God loves you, everything will be alright, but it also doesn’t mean if you don’t run your race you will lose your salvation. The gospel there is only 1 gospel! 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Jesus died for your sins according to the scriptures, was buried and rose again according to the scriptures. It’s easy to be saved. Everything else after is spiritual growth discipleship and running the race, all can only be done if someone is already saved. Praying for many many to stop being mixed up, mixing up the much needed discipleship with salvation 😃. I love your comment and totally agree 😃God bless you and and your family!

    Thanks so much for sharing, Becca! I’ve been attending the same church for 12-15+ years and came to terms that I’m not being spiritually fed. Yes, my church doesn’t preach the prosperity gospel and it’s not seeker sensitive either, but the pulpit has referenced anecdotes and ‘cute quotes’ more than doctrine and Biblical cross references.
    I’ve been going to another church’s bible study group for two years, realizing I was going because I was lacking not only community and edification in my age group, but just strong discipleship and the actual Word being preached. With listening to expository sermons, it’s like night and day in comparison to topical preaching.

    The Orthodox Church does a good job in sticking to tradition and following the liturgy as it has always been. American culture has continually begun to move away from God, and because there is no true authority and tradition in many American churches to keep things Holy, it’s no wonder that churches are beginning to move away from God as well. Pray for those who are on the wrong path. Preach the Gospel and help others!

      Having to watch a man chant in ancient Greek or promote political agendas every Sunday is the worst thing you can do in a Church. I don't know how orthodoxy is in other countries it in Greece, they care more about tradition than the believers.

    • @christopher-du8vz
      @christopher-du8vz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      robot from 1984 I think you should look into orthodoxy a little more then. That is truly not at all what orthodoxy is. Rarely do priests give sermons, the purpose of the liturgy is prayer in its entirety, and of course receiving the holy sacrament of communion. Tradition is important, and the Orthodox Church has stayed true to the original church from the first millennium, and what Christianity was meant to be.

    I agree with lots you say here, as a fellow sworn enemy of much in the prosperity gospel. But I'm not sure why we should cede to The Gospel Coalition the right to demarcate what a sound church is, as you seem to suggest around 16:40. It represents one very particular, largely Calvinistic understanding of Christianity, and not even most of the historical traditions of Protestantism (e.g., Lutheran, Wesleyan/Holiness) let alone the Christian tradition as a whole. Yes, we should all study Scripture and theology and pray for God to illuminate the heart of the Gospel for us ever-more deeply -- but also remember that this Gospel is fuller and richer than any single theological system can contain.

      Paul who was martyred for the faith considered himself the worst of all sinners, yet sinners now consider themselves saints.

Repentance is a life long struggle, yet is somehow considered a once off thing. God in His gentleness and mercy still meets us where we are. We should be ashamed of ourselves and all get onto our knees and beg Christ for His mercy for our sinfulness.

    What am I being fed at church? Holy Communion!

  • @believing247correctly
    @believing247correctly 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pastor Prince begins the service by encouraging the church to continue feeding on God’s Word, for it will bring answers for every challenge and situation we are facing.
    Pastor Prince shares that as a minister of God’s Word, he continuously seeks the Lord by reading and spending time in the Word, for that is how the Holy Spirit speaks to him. As he does so, he is able to deliver the rhema word (the timely word in season) for the congregation every Sunday.
    The Scriptures are called the “logos word.” The word “logos” means “the Word of God.” When you choose to spend time in the logos word and meditate on it, the Lord will reveal to you His rhema word. The rhema word refers to the now word-the word you need to hear for whatever you’re going through.
    “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart . . .”
    - Jeremiah 15:16 KJV
    “Thy words were found, and I did eat them” - When you open up God’s Word, just come and eat. You don’t have to worry or go around looking for the rhema word.
    “thy word” - This phrase in Greek is translated as “rhema word”-the word for your present situation. When you feed on God’s Word and meditate on it throughout the day, the Spirit will speak to you the rhema word. For example, a phrase or a word will “jump” out at you and the Spirit will unveil truths that will give you direction, wisdom, or encouragement about the situation you’re in. You might find that as you are simply reading God’s Word, what you are reading speaks to your exact situation. Meditate on those words, and hold on to the rhema word that God is speaking to you about today.
    We have this blessed enjoyment in God’s Word.
    When we are hungry for answers in life, sometimes we run to all the wrong sources to get them. But God wants you to have healthy food that will nourish your faith, and that is found by feeding on the Word.
    The Holy Spirit in you will provide, equip, and minister to every need-your part is to rest and receive His supply!
    We are continuing the series from last week’s sermon, “Win the Battle Over Sin-Consciousness.”
    “Who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end.”
    - 2 Corinthians 3:6-7 ESV
    “the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone” - The only letters carved on stone were the Ten Commandments, which is the law. The law is regarded as the ministry of death because it condemns sin in our flesh, and the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). It is only through the ministry of grace that we live, for it is the Spirit of grace that gives life.
    God never intended the law to be man’s justification, to be man’s way of finding sanctification and holiness. The reason God gave the law was to show sinful man how much we needed His grace, and that we cannot be justified or made righteous by our own works (Rom. 3:20).
    Some people think that without the law, there will be lawlessness. This is not necessarily true. Under grace, the opposite happens. As believers, we all have the Holy Spirit inside us, and the Holy Spirit causes the glory of the Lord to shine forth from within us.
    While the law is holy, it cannot make you holy. The law demands everything and gives nothing; grace gives everything and demands nothing.
    The now word for us today is to be truly and effectively under grace and not under the law.
    An example of how the law ministers death and grace ministers life is seen in the way 3,000 people died when the law was given on Mount Sinai, while 3,000 were saved when the Spirit was given on Mount Zion.
    The law is perfect, and when it cannot find perfection in the one trying to keep it, it has no choice but to confer the condemnation of death. The law is the ministry of death. When someone is under the law, death is constantly being ministered to the person.
    Today, because of Jesus’ finished work, we are under grace. As believers, you can choose to be under the law or under grace. Under grace, not only do you live, but you also receive health, wholeness, zóé life, and eternal life.
    To live the zóé life means to live by the highest form of life that God Himself lives by, and to enjoy all that life has to offer under His grace.
    Jesus wants you to have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). The more grace is preached, the more the zóé life of God will quicken within you by the power of the Holy Spirit.
    THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR HELPER IN ALL THINGS, AND HE ONLY FLOWS THROUGH GRACE.
    Pastor Prince illustrates the Holy Spirit’s flow with this example: Imagine the Holy Spirit as electricity, which flows through us. Now imagine the law as rubber, which is a good insulator and bad conductor of electricity. When we try to live our lives under the law, the Holy Spirit cannot flow in our lives. He can only flow when we are living under grace.
    Under the new covenant, the Holy Spirit is promised to us. Jesus talked about the Holy Spirit when He was in the Upper Room with His disciples (see John 14-17), and He revealed that while He would not be physically present in the days ahead, the Holy Spirit would be given to us as a Helper to help guide them (and us) in daily life.
    Be conscious of how much the Lord loves you. The more conscious you are of His love, the more you can love on others, your spouse, and your children. God’s love is always greater than your love for Him.
    In Matthew 22, Jesus answered the Pharisee who asked what God’s greatest commandment in the law was. Jesus revealed, “You shall love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt. 22:34-37).
    We know that only Jesus fulfilled that commandment when He was on earth. Jesus was the only Man who loved the Father with all His heart, soul, and mind. He was the only Man whose perfect walk on earth pleased the Father. Wherever Jesus went, He brought healing, restoration, blessings. Wherever He went, there was jubilee, freedom, and victory for those who encountered Him.
    Let’s not focus on our love for God, because that’s self-righteousness. Instead, let’s focus on how much God loves us, and let Him do a wonderful work in our lives under grace.
    One example is Abraham, who did not stand before the Lord as a doer but as a believer-a recipient and depository of all of God’s blessings.
    TRUST THAT THE LORD IS ALWAYS MINISTERING TO YOU THE SPIRIT AND EQUIPPING YOU WITH HIS WISDOM.

    And What verses say some men are predestined to hell? Calvinism is Replacement theology, and cherry picks verses out of context. And worse, Calvinism teaches man doesnt have freewill to choose. Joshua 24:15 & Deut 30:19 prove freewill exists. John 6:40 shows a man must believe to be saved and James 4:8 shows man can seek God first. James 4:8 Acts 2:21 confirms a man can first draw himself towards God. Romans 10:9-10 and Acts 8:37 speak of salvation through man's choice. Calvinists are blinded into misreading verses which dont even mention salvation.. Israel is Chosen. Men who accepted Christ are Elected/Chosen for works/service within His body. Calvinism is not christianity, and delete the Faith of Jesus from the salvation equation, through their doctrine of T.U.L.I.P and Limited Atonement and say Jesus only died for a pre-chosen few, and his sacrifice in not available for all . Calvinism takes verses from Ephesians 1 regarding the body of christ and election for service, which has nothing to do with how an unsaved person can Become saved... Ephesians1 speaks of those ALREADY saved through their own belief-John 3:16
    God in his sovereignty allowed Adam & Eve to Decide whether to eat of the forbidden tree.

    I would just like to say that while the Gospel Coalition is absolutely a valuable resource, the church I've been going to for 3+ years is not on there, but my pastor goes deep into the word every week and preaches the full gospel. So if your church isn't on there, don't panic! You can always keep that in mind and judge the validity and depth of the word you hear each week for yourself.
    I was not surprised to see that the church I grew up in wasn't there, though. They only ever gave 15 minute sermons that mostly amounted to "God loves you" and "read your Bible, it's good!" and never went any deeper than that

    John Piper, John MacArthur preach a Calvinist message that sounds like they taking the Bible very seriously. Calvinist focuses on the total authority of God & teaches that he has chosen a certain number of people who are the elect, from before the start of the world to be saved.
    Calvinist don't belive in freewill. They think salvation is entirely the work of God. With the doctrine of election there is the corresponding doctrine of reprobation. The majority of people are born sinners who God chooses not to save. They cannot save themselves. So they live in the misery of their sin and when they die they goto hell. Calvinist's don't like to talk about this.

The Gospel message is one of obedience (it's what is meant by faith), but that is a difficult message for people to accept, I know I struggle with obedience to Christ myself. This however does not excuse these Churches in what they are doing, as they are causing great damage and the effects can be seen within society and what they should be doing is offering a support group for true believers to help them "work out their salvation with fear and trembling".

You may not be a pastor, but you are spreading the message online, so there is probably still good value for you there. I thought about it because one of his main points is constantly bringing the message back to the gospel. Even if you are preaching on the O.T., how does that come back around to the message of Jesus on the cross? No matter what the sermon is about, the point being to bring it back to Jesus. Good book, probably one I will read again someday.

    I completely Agree with you 1000% about American churches.
    My daughters and I were just discussing this very subject earlier today.
    All we hear are preachers/pastors giving feel good expressions without detail.
    For example:
    You need to Repent,
    You need to rededicate your life,
    Turn your life over to Christ.
    To the average person; What does that mean exactly? What does that entail?
    It's one thing to preach Salvation, but it doesn't stop there. Discipleship must happen to explain what that new Christian must do to insure a successful Christian life in Christ.
    Nobody is preaching the Truth anymore. I think out of fear of offending people.
    We are called to Give Up being plugged into the world system through Movies, music and entertainment and replace them with Christ centered movies, music and entertainment.
    Nobody tells you that staying plugged into the world system hinders your relationship by keeping a back door open for satan to hurt any growth in your walk with Christ
    Instead, today most believers are double minded fence riding Christians because they never truly repented because they were never told. And That Makes Me Mad

    WHEN YOU PRAY IN THE SPIRIT, IT IS NOT YOUR LOGICAL MIND PRAYING BUT YOUR SPIRIT PRAYING TOGETHER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
    This is why tongues is a grace gift (not of your own effort).
    Pastor Prince shares a study done by Dr. Andrew Newberg from the University of Pennsylvania. He conducted a study of people praying in tongues and found that when they prayed in tongues, the usual language centers of their brains were not utilized.
    The Bible says, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays” (see 1 Corinthians 14:14).
    Pastor Prince shares a testimony of a brother from our church who prayed in tongues and found freedom from severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and other severe health conditions that medical science could not cure. Today, he is a leader in the church and his life is completely transformed.
    Keep praying in tongues and find freedom from stress and worries, and see your body healed and restored.
    When you pray in tongues, God heals you from the inside out
    When you start to pray in tongues, it may begin like a little trickle of water (you can only say a few syllables) but keep praying and it will become a rivulet, then a river, then a torrential flow, and finally a waterfall.
    When you first start praying in the Spirit, the Spirit is not battling the problem you have (the panic attack, the depression, the addiction, and your physical disease) because before it battles your problems, it is first battling your fears. It is clearing out the stress, worries, and anxieties from your heart and mind.
    Before God does something on the outside (physical and tangible healing), He wants to do something on the inside.
    Pastor Prince illustrates this further through the example of the temple of God during Hezekiah’s reign.
    “In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the LORD and repaired them.”
    - 2 Chronicles 29:3 NASB
    The very first thing the young king Hezekiah did was to open the door his father (King Ahaz) h
    ad shut. King Ahaz had shut the door because during his reign, he and the people were doing all kinds of abominable things in the holy of holies in the temple of God. They brought all kinds of defilements, filth, and uncleanness into the temple. And King Ahaz shut the door and locked all the filth inside.
    Remember we saw earlier that our body is a temple of God. So the temple in Hezekiah’s story is a picture of you and I. We’ve got so much baggage (stress, worry, fear, anxiety, disease, and sickness) on the inside.
    In the Bible, sickness and disease are also called “uncleanness.” And this is why when Jesus touched the leper, He didn’t say, “Be healed.” Instead, Jesus said, “Be clean.” And we know that the man was healed from leprosy (Matt. 8:1-3).
    And in the Old Testament, the method to cleanse was to use water. When Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit coming, He calls the Holy Spirit, “rivers of living water” (see John 7:38). He is called “living” because wherever He goes, there will be life. When we pray in tongues, we are allowing the Holy Spirit to freely flow in our lives.
    King Hezekiah opened the door his father had shut. You can only remove the filth in the temple when you open the door.
    If our body is the temple of God, which part of our body is the door? The mouth.
    “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth;
    Keep watch over the door of my lips.”
    - Psalm 141:3 NKJV
    “the door of my lips” - The door in the temple refers to our mouths.
    To take the first step out of our addictions, fear, worries, and uncleanness (disease), we need to open the door (our mouth).
    “They have also shut the doors of the porch and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.”
    - 2 Chronicles 29:7 NASB
    “shut the doors of the porch and put out the lamps” - The moment you shut the door (close your mouth and stop praying in the Spirit), your lamp goes out. Lamp (light) speaks of revelation, so when your lamp goes out, it means you will not have any revelation.
    “have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings” - Incense and offerings speak of praise and worship to God. When you shut the door (close your mouth and stop praying in the Spirit), there is no more worship to God.
    “Therefore the wrath of the LORD was against Judah and Jerusalem, and He has made them an object of terror, of horror, and of hissing, as you see with your own eyes. For behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.”
    - 2 Chronicles 29:8-9 NASB
    “the wrath of the LORD was against Judah and Jerusalem” - These verses do not apply to us. Today, God is not angry with His people. And He will never be angry with His people because of Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross. We are not under law. We are under grace in Christ Jesus.
    “Our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this” - If you have a loved one that is suffering today, it is not because God is angry and punishing you. We have shut the door of our lips, we are not opening our doors and praying for them and making intercession for them.
    We cannot watch over our children and loved ones all the time. We cannot change our children with our own means and ways. But when you pray for them, God will cause His light to come on them and give them the revelation they need to turnaround.
    PRAY AND ALLOW THE LORD TO GIVE YOUR CHILDREN THE WISDOM AND REVELATIONS THEY NEED.
    Keep praying in tongues and see the miracle you’ve been waiting for
    How long did it take for King Hezekiah and the Levites to see victory?
    “So the priests went in to the inner part of the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and every unclean thing which they found in the temple of the LORD they brought out to the court of the house of the LORD. Then the Levites received it to carry out to the Kidron valley.
    - 2 Chronicles 29:16 NASB
    “every unclean thing” - This represents our prejudices, bitterness, wrong believing, fears, panic attacks, and evil imaginations. Evil imaginations are very real for people with depression. They cannot see good in their future and always have negative, pessimistic thoughts. Never make fun or make light of someone who tells you they are suffering from depression. Point them to God’s heavenly weapon.
    So the priests brought out everything unclean and the next verse tells us how long that process took:
    “Now they began the consecration on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they entered the porch of the LORD. Then they consecrated the house of the LORD in eight days, and finished on the sixteenth day of the first month.”
    - 2 Chronicles 29:17 NASB
    They took 16 days to clean out the temple.
    Even when you do not see immediate and instant results, persist in praying in the Spirit. You are praying for your future and you will see supernatural results.
    Some people find it hard to have the faith to speak to their mountains (challenges). God has given us a special way to attack our mountains.
    “Behold, I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth;
    You shall thresh the mountains and beat them small,
    And make the hills like chaff.
    You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away,
    And the whirlwind shall scatter them;
    You shall rejoice in the LORD,
    And glory in the Holy One of Israel.”
    - Isaiah 41:15-16 NKJV
    “Threshing sledge” - A rectangular wooden plank designed to separate the grain from the chaff.
    “Teeth” - The Hebrew word for “teeth” is “piyphiyah” and it means “two-edged mouth.” When you pray in tongues, you are using a double-edged sword against your mountain (your problem). This is the new weapon that God gave on the day of Pentecost (2,000 years ago).
    “You shall thresh the mountains” - You will defeat your mountain (whatever challenges you are facing right now) by praying in the Spirit.
    “You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away” - Another way to separate the grain and the chaff is to throw the grain into the air and allow the strong wind to separate the chaff and wheat.
    When you are praying in tongues, it might seem like your problem remains even after some time. But every time you pray in tongues, you are cutting away at your mountain and making it smaller, so small that the wind can blow it away.
    ATTACK YOUR MOUNTAIN BY PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT EVERY DAY.
