The lone African Methodist pastor holding up his Bible and proclaiming the Bible is the inspired word of God. He stood against this. A modern John the Baptist. I just loved his courage and honesty and love for God’s word and His church. A true saint.

      elijeremiah: 100% agree with you.
Does scripture state that homosexuality is a sin?
      Yes.
Does scripture state that adultery is a sin? Yes.
All the sins are named in the Bible, without ANY ambivalence.
Is repentance of our sins a condition of salvation? Yes.
And what does repentence require? It requires that we admit to each of our sins, and promise to avoid those particular sins in the future.
No where in scripture are we given permission to wilfully continue those sins.
Any church body (denomination) giving permission to continue homosexual sin within the body of Christ, is heretical.
Let's be clear: The issue is not human desires, it's human action.
All the preaching about "love," or "tolerance," or "acceptance," by these heretical churches, is nothing more than an effort to increase church membership and appear virtuous.
So what are our alternatives if our church is engaging in the enabling of sin?
Make our best effort to reform the church, and if it's not happening, we must leave that church. To remain is consent, whether we admit it or not.
We are called upon to help each be righteous, not asked to enable sin.
Lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig.
The person we lie to the most, is ourselves.

It is NOTHING but sexualizing children. To (try to) make everyone introduce themselves by ADVERTISING THEIR SEXUALITY...what in the world??? Some may say "no! It's not about sexuality...it's just being able to love who you want"...uh, no. Let's say you are a gay woman...who you LOVE is not the same as WHO YOU SHARE A SEXUAL BED WITH. I am straight...and I love plenty of other females...my daughter, my mother, my close female friends...but I do not have to DECLARE MY LOVE FOR THESE PEOPLE EVERY TIME I INTRODUCE MYSELF. So why must they insinuate right off the bat WHO THEY PREFER TO SLEEP WITH?? That is confusing for children. Why? Because the children ask...what is gay? What does it mean? And you have to explain to them...they love another woman/man, whatever...but it's NOT JUST THAT THEY LOVE THEM...after all, straight people love other people who they are not sleeping with. So then the children figure out quickly that there is something else...a different meaning of "love"...so then you have to explain what they mean by "love". NO! I'm not doing that. This is about erasing children's innocence for these crazy people's sins.

....so, if scripture has drawn the line in the sand, why aren't they seeing it? The new offshoot has broken away, I'm sure they think they are interepreting the Scripture properly because they claim they are being led by the "spirit". They echo Martin Luther's words : " Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Scriptures or by clear reason (for I do not trust either in the pope or in the councils alone, since it is well known that they have often erred and contradicted themselves), I am bound by the Scriptures I have quoted, and my conscience is captive to the Word of God.". I just hope that you as Protestants can se what is gong on here. They should be excomunicated from Christendom, because they are not Christian anymore. But how would they be excommunictaed? You have no authority to do that. They, on the other hand, will continue to call themselve Christian, and they will continue to confuse and mislead thousands of people.

Sexual abuse of children is just as much if not MORE SO in Protestant churches, the difference is that your little churches never get blasted fir it on the news. Your little churches don't keep records of everything that has happened in your church h for 50 years plus. We do, in the Catholic Church. I went to a Methodist church for a short time, but after a while realized they were very corrupt while doing seemingly very Godly things.
I was at a free lunch for the needy and the pastor have a nice sermon and said, anyone have any questions? A young man said he did and asked something about the Holy Spirit.
The pastor's jaw worked, like he was angry about something, and he said, I'll answer it later after the lunch. He never did. He had been in ministry for years and always dismissed the Holy Spirit, any of that tongue talking nonsense, healing, prophecy.
He had an older lay pastor who corrupted his assistant pastor sexually, and he should have seen it. I could go on, but church was just a habit for these people, they were really quite lukewarm. I don't know where they are with this latest development but I had to distance my self from them, one ex friend was getting into weird serpentine labyrinths, all sorts of weird stuff going on.
The pastor started asking one if the uneducated welfare women who came to free church meals, about that Holy Spirit stuff. She wouldn't tell them anything, they were not really nice to her and treated her badly.
There are people who have fake tongues, or even are just corrupt and have the real thing. But there are people who are honest and Godly even when no one is looking. But they waited till the end of the ball to learn how to dance.

It is literally a modern version of the snake tempting Eve in the Garden of Eden, promising that she will become like God. Which is why now all if a sudden you are godly enough to die on the cross of Marxism to save the world.

All religions have fallen short of what God intended for religion to be and every church sets its own doctrines, regardless of the religion. As you state so about the methodist religion, same can be applied to the catholic religion and honestly there are far worse doctrines in the catholic religion than others.
I do not say this to condone any religion above another because all religions are fallen in some ways, sort of fashion and God is not please with the way mankind has taking it upon itself the man-made traditions and doctrines that it has and calling another religion at fault yet being in the same cup of fault in a different subject.
The best thing a person can do for self is to step out of the religion mindset and step into the embrace of the truth Word of God the Bible and foremost believe God and ask Him for His wisdom and being the way maker that mankind religion would be the last thing on the mind.

Sin is sin and regardless of the sin, small or great, it is sin in the sight of God and the only way a person is washed clean, it is by the grace of Jesus whom is God.
Holy Spirit is stuck in the back pocket by many so called christians and thus it is why so many have no growth in their walk with Christ and at the same time have no true understanding of the saving grace of God which actually saves.

It doesn’t help that we are living in the time of apostasy. Finding a church that isn’t blasphemous, lukewarm, or heretical is quite difficult. The gospel is actually very simple, but man has tried it’s best to make it extremely difficult. When we are born again we are a new creation.

I am appalled by how totally corrupt the Methodist Church has become as it is now totally “woke” with people having to identify their pronouns to supporting “inclusive” homosexuality (which everyone seems to call lgbt quips today). I have some family history in the Methodist church as my grandfather was a Methodist missionary in Indonesia where my mother was born. He had a deep, sincere, and abiding love of God as his Divine friend. When I started to consider ministry I naturally approached a Methodist Church Pastor. He gave me a book to read, "Methodists and the Making of America" by Charles W. Ferguson. Charles Wesley held Church meetings very often in outdoor settings. He was very charismatic and the Holy Spirit was definitely a part of his ministry, converting many that heard him speak. Wesley held many large outdoor meetings in America where as many as 500 people at a time would fall down, convicted by the Holy Spirit. These large gatherings, later called Chautauquas, and the Methodist circuit rider preachers led to the formation of several Universities which are still in existence today. Then in the 1890s there was a schism that developed in the Methodist Church, and the Holiness Church and the Pentecostal Church split away from the Methodist Church. I am pretty sure that is why the Methodist Church still has the red flame as part of its logo, leftover from the days when the Methodist Church was still "on fire" with the Holy Spirit - which it has not been since the 1890s. Those days are sadly long gone but, I never would have imagined that it would come to this, where the modern Methodist Church would turn totally woke by supporting and teaching twisted Scripture, bent to support Marxism, feminism, Theosophy, and Occultism.
Please bare in mind that the mothers of feminism, starting at the time of the French Revolution in the late 1700s followed Theosophy and the teaching of the occultist Madame Blavatsky. These teachings were about the serpent (Satan) having given supposed sacred teachings to Eve to give her power over men, and power over God. This teaching is at the heart of feminism. To put it as clearly as I can, Theosophy and Blavatsky teach and assert that Satan is the good guy, and God is the bad guy. Wake up good people, there is nothing good, pure, noble, or just about feminism. Feminism seeks to destroy God, destroy religion, destroy the family, destroy society, and destroy men. And now with Progressive Christianity, the beast has gotten into the Church where even the elect can be deceived, so powerful is the weapon of the lie. Do not be deceived about people trying to assert that all truth is relative, i.e., “Stand Point Theory”, and “Critical Theory”, where there is no absolute truth or God given truth, only how "I" feel based on the narcissistic worship of my own "Self". This is a lie that is purely fueled by Marxism/feminism/Theosophy/Occultism.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

I am a UMC Sunday School teacher. I am a theological conservative (and a Navy veteran). I have debated leaving our church for a few years now. But the only reason I am even at this church is because I was made unwelcome at the Baptist church I formerly attended because I would not make conservative politics my life priority. Most conservative churches in America have bowed the knee to political conservatism and hyper-individualist philosophy (Objectivism, etc.) the same way the liberal churches have bowed the knee to political progressivism and socialist philosophy (Marxism, etc.) Both approaches are utterly unbiblical. Politics OWNS our churches today. It is a golden calf that American Christians worship. And we use it to divide us into camps that we seek to destroy at all costs. I hate this idol. And I hate that it is more important than anything to us. I will not bow my knee to either Old Glory or the Rainbow flag. POLITICS IS NOT OUR PURPOSE IN LIFE!!!

15:00..you mentioned that these UMC people decided to abandon the true Christiany, abandon Church history, abandon creeds, abandon the bible al together.... and remake this denomination into "our image". You are not going to like that I say this, but this is exactly what the "reformers" did to the Catholic Church. They abandoned true Christianity, the abandoned Church history so much so that most Protestants don't know that Christianity existed before 1517, and that the bible did not fall down from the sky in its current form. They abandoned the Creed because it contains the word "catholic" and because its a recited prayer. Yes, they abandoned TRUE Christianity because none of the dogmas that were born out of the reformation by Protestants were in existance before 1517. Such as the dogma of "faith alone" and "scripture alone". Yes, although Protestants did not abandon Scripture al together, they did eventually do violence to scripture by removing books out of the bible to get the ever so irksome number 66. And yes, I am Catholic. But I hope Methodists feel what we as Catholics feel when you as Protestants glorify the so called REFORMATION. But, isnt that what this new denimination is trying to do? Are they not trying to reform the Methodist Church, have failed and made their own church instead? This kind of break off happens thousands of times in Protestantism, and this is how little by little 500 years later we have THOUSANDS of Protestant churches which in the end just make a MOCKERY of Christendom.

Catholic means universal, Roman Catholic means the brand of Christianity that the Roman government brought into existence by integrating all of the temple priests and all the other Celtic religions that were paid actors by the Roman state. They just integrated those people in to the Roman Catholic tent without considering the damage that their heretical views would have on the formation of the Roman Catholic church. I grew up in the United Methodist Church. I was confirmed when I was 12. I left that church because I saw no love in most of the congregation. My Dad was on the administrative Board and he was always talking about how petty the other board members were. I was a certified lay minister as well. To say that I am disgusted by this turn of events is a gross understatement... but truthfully I am not surprised.
Many of the mainstream "Christian" denominations are apostate in varying degrees. But that is like being "just a little bit pregnant". The fruit tells the story. And it is distressing. The lack of love and compassion is horrifying. The pharisaical self righteousness and condemnation is so very prominent in many of these congregations. BUT... it seems that they have no discernment either. And they fall into a pit that come from not being able to discern that loving others does not mean condoning their sin. You can love and have compassion for hurting people without condoning their behavior.
I treat everyone with dignity and respect. I am fully aware that I am a sinner and that "but the grace of God there goeth I" so I do not condemn anyone. That is for God alone. But I will not condone sin. If the sin is exposed then it has to be a part of the equation. You do not just accept detrimental behaviors. They may believe that it doesn't hurt anyone but that is a clever deception by the Adversary. A good parent does not condone bad behavior but they also do not shun their child and berate them mercilessly. In some case the child doesn't know why what they did is so wrong. They lack the ability to sort through the ramifications and ripple effects of their actions. This is true with people in persistent sin. They are blinded by their desires as to why it is harmful to them and others.
I have known many homosexuals ( they aren't gay or lesbian... they are homosexual...period ) and under the veneer of outward contentment they are miserable. Some of the most broken people I have ever known were in that boat. And sadly they lash out at others for "judging" them when the true judgement lies within them. They know deep down something is wrong but they feel helpless to do anything about it. This is the secret harm of these behaviors.
People who think they should have been born the opposite sex are not healthy. It is wrong to ignore the symptoms of any sickness. If you have a disability that may develop into something life threatening, you do not hide it just because "people may talk". You seek treatment. I am sorry but the "trans" movement is a mental health issue. And nothing we do will help it until the illness is recognized and addressed.
The UMC has fallen in the pit by condoning a detrimental behavior. If someone that identifies as LGBTQ attends your church service you should treat them with dignity and respect. You should not shun them at all. BUT you must not affirm their behavior either. If a junkie wanders in off the street it would be the same thing. Love, compassion, dignity and respect but you DO NOT affirm their drug use! You show them a better way. You rely on the transformative power of the Almighty King of the Universe to help you HELP THEM. God can do ANYTHING. Our faith is the limitation not His power.
Shame on the congregations of the UMC for letting this come to this point. The saltiness has gone from your faith. God can forgive anything. I beg you to rexamine your choices and lay them at the foot of the cross. The demnination may be dead but you are redeemable until the moment of death.

Methodist here. My family and I left the United Methodist Church (UMC) years ago and joined the Global Methodist Church (GMC). The Global Methodist Church is a Methodist denomination within Protestant Christianity subscribing to views that were propounded by the conservative Confessing Movement.
I think in large part the reason the UMC is becoming so far left and woke is because conservatives like myself left the UMC. This should be a warning to others - try to reform before departing, otherwise what you leave behind for others will become far worse. We left because we saw no path to change.

There was a street preacher preaching outside this convention, rebuking them for their sin. He saw several men in skirts/dresses going in to this conference. Also, where we're from, the Methodist church has literally locked the doors/changed the locks or whatever to pastors and congregations that will not go along with their "acceptance". They have had to find new buildings and start over.

I have observed that some of the strongest protestant leaders have become Catholic, and weak Catholics become protestant.. I am a life-long Catholic, love my faith in Christ, love Mary because she is Jesus' Holy Mother. As a mother, I am so sad how many treat her with such disrespect. How hurtful it must be to Christ as well, and God - who chose her must have justified anger toward those who snub her or disrespect her. She takes nothing away from Christ, she was the model of humility. Protestants have a lot to learn, but that is okay, we respect you. We have our own issues with lax Catholics that for some reason failed to recognize the gift of the faith they were given. One thing for sure, we should all live in peace and pray to always be guided by the Holy Spirit in Truth.

I was raised Baptist, but my husband and I just visited a Methodist church for the first time last Sunday (looking for a church in the area we just moved to). They're "Wesleyan Methodist", which as I understand it means that they don't support LGBTQ stuff at all. It's in their doctrine and beliefs statement that they don't. So I hope people aren't from now on turned off to any and all churches that are "Methodist" -- just do a little digging! Maybe they're a great, Bible-honoring church that's just right for you! We enjoyed our visit at the one we went to, and are considering it. :) The clips you showed are _horrifying_ 😂 and not at all what we experienced. The Wesleyan Methodist church we visited was very traditional and lovely.
What was even MORE horrifying though were those Met Gala outfits 👀

I was raised a Methodist and was very active until about 5 years ago. That was about the time the indoctrination of affirming LGBTQ+ became a big push. There were clergy who had taken vows and then when they became pastors or bishops, they openly denounced those vows. And instead of removing them, which was in the Book of Discipline, the LGBTQ+ refused to go and the conference bowed down because they didn't want that negative press. So now it's been taken over. It's heartbreaking that they have purposely split the church in order to blend onto the world vs God's Word.
