- S&W M&P FPC Handguard removal & Installation. simply removed the factory guard and replaced it with an Nordic Components aluminum handguard. Really simple to do and complete in under 10 minutes.
The instructions with the NC handguard do NOT list the tools needed, so here you go.
Tools that I needed:
* 7/8" wrench (removal of factory barrel nut)
* 1 5/16" wrench (for new barrel nut tightening)
* 9/64th hex key (for new handguard)
* 3/32nd hex key (for new handguard)
* #10 torx driver (for removal of the factory handguard)
* 3/4" " wrench (for my muzzle device)
* Loctite (Blue, for new barrel nut)

Thanks for putting out these FPC videos!
You're welcome. They are fun to do, but a little costly.... I need to quit buying stuff!!!! :)
Your videos are excellent! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you!
Awesome video!👍🏻
One thing I forgot to mention, when folded it will NOT lock like on the factory handguard. But it will fold just the same, the charging handle will fit into one of the M-Lock ports.
Thanks for sharing this.
My pleasure!
Love your fpc conrent! I would love the name of the company who made that gun 😂stand you used in the video. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
www.lokgrips.com
Get the stand made for the Canik and it will work just fine.
Can you do a video on the bolt catch extension. It would be cool to be able to use the left side bolt catch to release the bolt. I know I've done it but its hard from factory
I will soon, but I haven't seen or am I aware of an extension made for the FPC yet.
@@hollowpointdefense Yeah unfortunately nothing from any companies out yet, people have instead been drilling a hole and adding their own extensions with Hex screws in order to allow it to be easily dropped
Thanks a bunch! So, now with the the Nordic hand guard installed, is the Taccom scope mount level with it?
No, it is not level with the handguard, it is not an issue for me.
Great video's thanks - one detailed question about that particular new barrel nut that you installed for the new aluminum handguard-- what's the diameter? I have some other 1.5" handguards laying around and am wondering if they'd fit.
It was a 1 5/16" wrench to tighten it. It came with the guard. I will check it Wednesday, I want to say it was under 1.5".
Best part about that gun now….
I got a question. The scope mount on the receiver. I’ve been seeing it on a couple videos, after opening and shutting it does it hold zero? That’s the only thing stopping me from getting one is I feel after shutting and opening a couple times the barrel adjustment will have changed and lost zero. I see in some of your later videos you took it off
I did not have an issue with it NOT holding zero at all. It is a solid mount. I no longer use it, as I went to an LVPO and plan on staying with the LVPO going forward. Don't need the mount for the LVPO and it was entirely too close for my liking when I had the red dot on it.
I like the upgrade except the front around the barrel is open compared to the stock.
the stock handguard is designed to fit more closely to the barrel ,probably wouldn't matter much...
It works just fine for me. I really don't see much difference outside of it not locking on the aftermarket handguard. I don't fold mine at all, so it isn't a big deal for me.
Do not forget to tighten the two set screws in the bottom of the hand guard…….or your hand guard will ‘walk’
This was a good a buy, I am happy with it. No issues at all.
Nice job again. Why the new handguard and what brand? Thanks George
Nordic Components.
@@hollowpointdefense why change the handguard? George
I would love to k ow where you got the forward aluminum forgrip as well as the back strap that you optic is sitting on. I have a 3d printer and print my own stands for those that keep asking about the damn stand.
The optic is sitting on a rail adapter ($100) from taccom3g.com and the fore-grip (hand-guard $150) is from taccom3g.com as well. After I did this, placed a hand-stop on the hand-guard from Phase5WSI ($30).
@@hollowpointdefense can you send me the direct link to both?
I have tried repeatedly, and I get nothing.
@@williamevans3944 taccom3g.com/product/scope-mount-for-sw-fpc/
@@hollowpointdefense thank you for the direct link, I have both in my shopping cart now.
Could you please tell me where I can get a stand like the one you have holding up the fnp. Thank you.
LOK Grips. Under there gun stands section. I got the Glock 17 and shaved the sides to fit the M&P. For what ever reason, they don't make one in the M&P size.
@@hollowpointdefenselooking at them now, the tumbled seems like it won't show wear as much, which do u have? Also I assume the ar15 is just like a pmag and goes into the magwell, seems essential for cleaning, scope mounting rail work etc. I wonder if they have an insert they will work without modification
What holder do you use with the fpc. Will it work with others too
It is from Lok Grips. I made it fit M&P and Glock
Does the barrel nut come with hand guard? If not where do you get it and I what is the spec? Thanks
Yes.
Where did you get that stand? Very nice.
LOK Grips. It is for the Glock 17, I just shaved the sides down to accept the M&P. LOK Grips don't make it in M&P for what ever reason. Here: lokgrips.com/gun-stands
OK, first. AWESOME VIDEO! Second where did you get the stand? 3rd, what mount is that you have on the back of the receiver with the scope? I want one of those!

@@hollowpointdefense I'm not finding the picatinny rail mount for the rear of the FPC receiver
@@ecobasetech4558 taccom3g.com/product/scope-mount-for-sw-fpc/
Is this handguard made specifically for the FPC or generic? If generic what model please?
This one was for the FPC.
We’re did get that from
What table top rifle stand are you using in this video?
Lok grips gun stand.

Have you taken the handguard off the response rifle?
No. No one makes an after market handguard yet, so I haven't even entertained the idea yet.
@@hollowpointdefense I wanted to take it off to clean the outside of the barrel from all the cardboard dust that the gun came in and put a light coat of gun oil on it. Took the 4 screws off but it still won't budge so i don't see what else is holding it on? thought you might have taken it off. If you do please post a video. thanks
Where can I find tht hand guards and the flashier ?
The hand guard on this ppc is from Nordic Components.
So is this hangaurd lighter or something cause it looks about the same maybe feels different
I wanted the metal do to attachments I use. I can crank them down to stay, where the plastic I did have issues with the light coming loose, I believe due to the plastic crushing and loosing tension after a bit.
@hollowpointdefense great answer I was wondering about keeping the mlok attachments tight on mine
@@jonnyb2652 If some one produces one for the RESPONSE, I will get that one too.
Here is the handguard in the video: taccom3g.com/product/nordic-components-handguard-for-sw-fpc/
Hey there, that link didn't work, or doesn't anymore...can you tell me the name of the handgaurd? Is it just an M&P 13" AR handgaurd? I was trying to just search the site you gave the link for, but it gave me an error. I just got my FPC today, and I was so glad you made the video if how to reset the hammer. I was just baffled, and I can usually figure things out. My hammer was too stiff to reset with my finger, and I didn't want to break something, so it was great to see in your video that it did infact need to be pushed all the way back til it catches. Thanks for the great info my friend!

Who Is the manufacturer of that handguard, and approximate cost please. I currently own an fpc, and the plastic handguard does make me a little nervous, and an aluminum replacement would definitely calm my nerves
Nordic components, about $150.
@@hollowpointdefense what part numbers? I visited the site,,, and some models are out of stock
@@davidfigueira8648 not sure of the part number. Go to taccom3g and it is there, if not sold out.

@@hollowpointdefense thank you I appreciate it!
I like that! 👍 I can't stand the polymer one at all.
I didn't like the polymer either.
Who makes the hand guard?
Nordic Components.
YES PLEASE SEN ME THE NAME IF IS POSSIBLE
The handguard is from Nordic Components, www.taccom3g.com
Does it still fold shut, or did you make it into a standard non folding rifle of 9mm pistol caliber?
It still folds, I just don't use it that way.
