one more question Greg. is the voice search for a movie supposed to work in Netflix? when i try voice search in it, it just takes me to a search box to type in the movie name, though it DOES work in SPMC. Thanks.

Hi, I bought the mi box here in Denmark, it seems to be some sort of restriction built into it, the playstore is very limited, no browser allowed and very few apps, is there some sort of open software out there I can override the existing software with?

Hello, I have several Bluetooth headphones or speakers already linked to my mibox. Contrary to the way we can switch from one to one on a cell phone, it is difficult to do the same on my mibox. Is there any way to do this in an easier way?

Some people make issue of it not having ethernet. I know it can use an adapter. I don't really have the option to use it, I have slow internet and most stuff plays well on my Mi Box anyway, even though it might not always play at the best quality, at least I don't get stutters or buffering.

Get TV app repo from the play store. You can put any apps you download to your main screen .
How do i undo the no apps can perform this action?
After pairing with my Bluetooth soundbar once, I have to either reboot the Mi Box or reboot the soundbar to get it to pair again, any ideas on how to get it to simply re-pair the Mi Box when woken up?
Although it's been a year after you wrote it.. I kinda had the same issue yesterday and found a workaround. Is it still relevant to you?

@@ieranav Sure. Go to the store and download an app called Button Mapper (I think that is the name, I'm not at home right now). It's free. Then set one of your buttons to enable / disable Bluetooth. Now when you want to use BT headphones , just turn them on and press the button you mapped twice (once to disable BT and once to enable). Your headphones should work.
The only limitation I've found so far is that once you use the headphones, the volume bar on the screen will stay around 10-20 seconds every time you change the volume level. Hope it helps!

Hey Greggles, are you having any issues with the Netflix volume on yours? Netflix is the only app I use on my Mi Box that will not let me control the volume with the system, rather I have to adjust the volume on my sound bar rather than the system itself and it is pretty annoying. I've tried everything to fox it except factory resetting the device, so I am just curious if it's widespread or just an isolated incident

I still havnt figured out my bubble notification problem, and I know you said you didn't get them. Are you running Exodus? If so do you also have it integrated with trakt? If so are you using lists? I get them everytime I scroll thru shows with the setup above.

I installed this combo on my phone where i can read the notifications and ES browser is creating a notification every time exodus downloads a new poster or fan art. It says it successfully scanned it......
What a bloated piece of crap ES has become.....

Greggles would you recommend this over the Amazon Fire TV? I want it specifically to run Kodi with the least amount of buffer. I like that the Fire TV uses an Ethernet port so that should make it a lot more stable compared to using wifi no? Only downside is that Mi Box is a lot easier to configure Kodi compared to Fire TV. Thoughts?

Really? So the ethernet wouldn't make a difference? I thought that the direct link to the device is supposed to help with buffer? Guess I'll have to return the Fire TV if there wouldn't be a difference in the video streams 😦
whats buffering for you specifically
Netflix and TH-cam are fine. It's movies and TV through Kodi that has the occasional buffer, dropped sound etc. I called my internet provider and apparently I'm only on regular DSL at 10 mbps. I was considering upgrading to 15 mbps but after speaking with their tech support it doesn't look like it'll make a huge difference. Think I'll return the Fire TV to Amazon and purchase a Mi Box. Setting up Kodi seems a lot easier, especially since I'm in Canada and the Amazon apps store isn't supported here. It'll save time on all the workaround.
if you're talking about exodus its more likely the server you are streaming from most of them are crap

There is no power key option on MI Box! How do I make sure that after clicking power button it switches off.
thanks Greg. i have one question, i don't know if it's because of an update (Android 6.0.1) or not, but i just got my Mi the other day, love it, but i no longer see the option for the Power Key Definition under Preferences there, and i'd like to change it to power off, unless it's because my box is the International Version. Why is it mine Only have Netflix and redbull?
It recently upgraded from Android 8.1 to Android 9.0 & lost a lot of features the main one being a functioning $70 Google Chromecast Ultra that came pre-installed. Support on the phone & by email is dismal at best.

Hi, yes you can. I've done the same myself, when plugged in it automatically switched from wifi to ehternet but it can also be switched around in settings.

How to connect USB drive?
You just plug it into the back USB port and it should be directly detected. On the latest Oreo update, it actually pops up as a separate notification on the top. You can browse the contents using any file manager like File Commander or ES File Explorer.
"Recenecy order"?
I have Kodi installed but there is a issue I get a bubble notification middle right side of the screen it says new files and it will show you every add-on installed but the bubble does not disappear at all even when playing a movie or on the mi box home screen do you know a fix?
you have es file explorer installed correct? theres a setting in there you need to turn off

Not sure which one has to be turned off so after I installed all my programs I just uninstalled es file explorer.

One trick I did was remove the recommendations row. It just made things too busy on the home screen.

If you cant do it from the settings/apps. Then install and uninstall. I got rid of all of mine.

My MiBox doesn't recognize USB drive anymore. Anyone have the same issue and is there a fix? It's the easiest way to add APK's to the box.
When you put a USB drive in you have to restart the mi box for it to be recognized.

great device..but I can't the WWE Network in the play store anymore.
It's there. Search for the full name "WWE Network" instead of just WWE. I bought a Mi Box the other night and just searched for WWE at first and it didn't find it and I assumed it wasn't supported on it. Searched using the full name and there it was. You wouldn't think that the search had to be so specific, but in some cases it apparently is.

Weird. Maybe try doing a search on Google on a computer web browser while logged in to your Google account for 'wwe network play store'. The page for the app from the Play Store should be the top result, click it and see if there's a drop-down on the Install button that has your Mi Box listed. If so, you should be able to make it automatically install to your Mi Box from there.

I’m beginning to think less and less of the mi box The longer I have it. Mine does not have power key definition WTF. And it will not play the 4K content from Netflix what the fuck why is it ever ties as a 4K android box when you can’t even play 4K from one of the most popular video streaming apps ever what a piece of shit and this is like the third one that I’ve cried and I have gigabit Internet so it is plenty fast enough there’s a lot a little stupid quirks that haven’t been Worked out and they need to get to android seven not this marshmallow shit. I’m ordering a Nexus player from eBay I don’t care if it is only 1080 P there’s not enough 4K content out there to justify it and when it’s out there this crummy box can’t play it any suggestions to get it to play 4K content from Netflix . And while I’m at it I might as will say another grape I have why can’t you do searches from Cody or any of the apk’s Like terrarium
