In this case, his pad is behind the puck stopping it from going in and somebody pushes his leg into the net - that is essentially the same thing, you took away his ability to make a play.

Around 3:24, you even see him looking to make sure he's above the crease before he slides across. Brodeur, by coming out as far as he did, still is the one who initiated the contact. Also, Tripp Tracy, who was a goalie, said Brodeur was looking for it.

I’m a centermen at a high level let. Me tell you when your goalie is frustrated you know you will be dragged in somehow! I’m so frustrated that my team got nocked out in round 3 of the playoffs we did so good that season I scored 39 goals in the regular season and 17 in the playoffs! One a dude pocked our goalie’s glove when it was covered and my teammate who is a defender dropped the gloves and it was a pretty good scrap I loved watching it! LOL! I understand frustration in that game when it actually means a lot at such a high level!
When something isn't going your way and you know it could result in a goal: push the network it's posts. A delay of game and PK is much better than giving momentum or the game to an opponent. Keep momentum on your side.

yea, number 27 on san jose literally speared the goalies pad into the net with his stick, he wasnt playing the puck at all and he knows it. 44 had his stick on the puck and tried to push it in but i doubt he could have done it himself, no way he can make that much torque from that angle hes at. there is an instant where you can see number 48's stick flex as hes falling if you look at the camera angle from behind the net its easy to tell he pushes the goalie pretty hard but only for an instant as hes immediately tackled by a defenseman. but to me it looks like 27 did 80% of that and without him the goalie never goes into the net. i think its somewhat possible 44 could have dug that puck out if his team wasnt so overzealous but the defense was all over him i doubt this could have ever been a goal in any way, i fully agree the ref just probably thought the defense pushed the offence into the goalie witch pushed him in or was too focused on the puck and didnt see the rest of the play, or that 2/3 of the san jose players were literally just pushing his pad, like a full foot away from where the puck was.

Not valid. The only equipment issue that warrants a stoppage of play is a loss of the mask. If he wouldn't have been a baby about it he easily could have made the save. It's not that hard to move without a blade.

It always p*sses me off when the refs are braindead and completely ignore when a player either shoves the goalie into the net with the puck or when blatant goalie interference occurs. Then the announcers who have no idea what they’re talking about back them up. 2:20 is a perfect example, cause when you first see it, how the f*ck is that *NOT* goalie interference?! The other team straight up shoved him and his pad into the net, after shoving the net off. And that’s somehow an immediate goal. Like the announcers said, you can play the puck if it’s loose, but no, you cannot play the goalie too. At least in that clip they overturned the goal, but to even consider it at first is wild. The announcers honestly seemed upset that it was called back, I really don’t know what they were expecting. I know you can’t always trust what players say, but if a goalie is p*ssed about a play, they almost always have a reason.

yea, number 27 on san jose literally speared the goalies pad into the net with his stick, he wasnt playing the puck at all and he knows it. 44 had his stick on the puck and tried to push it in but i doubt he could have done it himself, no way he can make that much torque from that angle hes at. there is an instant where you can see number 48's stick flex as hes falling if you look at the camera angle from behind the net its easy to tell he pushes the goalie pretty hard but only for an instant as hes immediately tackled by a defenseman. but to me it looks like 27 did 80% of that and without him the goalie never goes into the net. i think its somewhat possible 44 could have dug that puck out if his team wasnt so overzealous but the defense was all over him i doubt this could have ever been a goal in any way, i fully agree the ref just probably thought the defense pushed the offence into the goalie witch pushed him in or was too focused on the puck and didnt see the rest of the play, or that 2/3 of the san jose players were literally just pushing his pad, like a full foot away from where the puck was.

Not valid. The only equipment issue that warrants a stoppage of play is a loss of the mask. If he wouldn't have been a baby about it he easily could have made the save. It's not that hard to move without a blade.

I don’t normally complain to refs as a goalie. But when I do, I freak the fuck out.
It always p*sses me off when the refs are braindead and completely ignore when a player either shoves the goalie into the net with the puck or when blatant goalie interference occurs. Then the announcers who have no idea what they’re talking about back them up. 2:20 is a perfect example, cause when you first see it, how the f*ck is that *NOT* goalie interference?! The other team straight up shoved him and his pad into the net, after shoving the net off. And that’s somehow an immediate goal. Like the announcers said, you can play the puck if it’s loose, but no, you cannot play the goalie too. At least in that clip they overturned the goal, but to even consider it at first is wild. The announcers honestly seemed upset that it was called back, I really don’t know what they were expecting.
I know you can’t always trust what players say, but if a goalie is p*ssed about a play, they almost always have a reason.
As a floor hockey goalie this pisses me off
