- The Wily Machine and Wily Capsule are probably one of the most annoying bosses I've ever fought. The machine itself is alright...but it's movements drag on the battle for a very long time. The capsule is just plain hard...with the homing bullets and electrical sparks...there is so much going on. It's hard to get a lot of hits in without getting careless.
You know a boss fight is over-the-top hard when "get hit by the yellow balls because they hurt the least" is a _legitimate_ strategy for fighting it.

Here’s a tip: when wily gets on his second form, he will shoot four orbs will all of their colors being random. If you get hit by the blue one you will get frozen, it doesn’t hurt by it will force you to get hit by the electric ball attack right after. The red one will put you on fire which will keep you still and deal constant damage but all other attacks will not hurt. Both of these are bad so I recommend you get hit by the yellow sense it only does damage. But only if you know you can’t dodge it. That’s all I have but yea good luck

Done playing it yesterday, my first time playing MM7, and I can guarantee that there's a solution to dodge his four orbs attack, without getting hit, it's hard but you need to go to the corner of the screen and when you heard the sound of the orb jump and the orb follow you mid air and when you hit the ground just slide to the center stage hope this help, but it still hard of a boss fight!!! What da heck!

This has to be my favorite final boss in classic Megaman if only because of how much strategy it requires. Stock up on energy tanks and don't use them until you're acclimated to the boss fights, because this level is designed to require at least 2 tanks from an average-skilled player.
For first phase:
- Machine is weak to Thunder Bolt.
- The spawns have a lot of health and the charge shot only does two points of damage, making them very inefficient. Junk shield destroys them the fastest, with thunder bolt and slash claw being good alternatives.
For second phase:
- The yellow projectile is the least dangerous to get hit by. The red one does the most damage due to afterburn, while the blue one makes you succeptible to followup attacks.
- A charged Wild Coil aimed upward is one of the few weapons that can reach the boss in high places and also does the greatest amount of damage.
- Freeze Cracker does not do much damage but is one of the few weapons that can reach the boss in high places when Wild Coil is depleted.
- Thunder Bolt will interrupt the boss's primary attack. It doesn't deal any damage and the boss will still drop shockwaves upon disappearing, but these are much easier to dodge.
- It is extremely difficult to dodge the projectiles, but you can try to manipulate their positioning so that their final strike is easier to dodge. It is also possible to slide against the sides of the screen as a means of "ducking" under the projectiles in place. However, I would argue it is still much safer to prevent the projectiles from appearing in the first place using Thunder Bolt.
In my opinion, this is one of the hardest boss fights ever in the MegaMan series!

Best Mega Man Final Boss, and Best Mega Man Ending. I mean, think about it. Unlike Mario, who constantly goes to rescue the princess, Mega Man grew frustrated after defeating Dr. Wily 6 times already, and constantly letting him go in hopes that he would become a better man. Mega Man realized that he was doing all of this under Dr. Light's programming, and decided he couldn't let Dr. Wily go. He speaks slow when saying, "I am more than a ROBOT! DIE WILY!" do to the fact he is attempting to reject what Dr. Light programmed him to do. This isn't Mega Man going dark, this is Mega Man.

To this day I will never forget the first time I fought him and I was taken by surprise by this last boss when the theme started playing, it took me weeks to defeat him and it was so hard

This fight was so sadistically difficult that Mega Man was about to defy the Laws of Robotics and go Maverick before that was even a thing, only to be stopped because he still had to follow said laws (the "Die Wily" line was just added in the EN version and is not canon)

the boss itself is annoying but you have to agree that the music and story in this quite awesome.
Worst music of any megaman game, easily. Sound effects are bad too. Sprites too big. The whole game feels corny and silly. People want to like it because it's rare but it doesn't stand up otherwise.

i find you can pretty much ignore the little baby minions that Wily Machine 7 shits out. they're not only slow and predictable but they're damage sponges and they die anyway whenever he jumps to the other side of the screen
Try using Thunder Bolt and Freeze Cracker against him. That's my go-to strategy in fighting him without taking damage. Thunder Bolt can be used immediately after you him him with Freeze Cracker and it will force him to use an easy to dodge attack. 💫

I couldn’t beat it WITH 4 E-Tanks, plus a W-Tank. Then again, my skills could’ve improved at the time, and they seem to have gotten better as I’ve gone through the X series (1-4)

La pelea con el segundo willy fue estupidamente larga, y extremadamente dificil. Porque? Porque era estupido y no sabia la debilidad de cada uno, y me reusaba a ver un gameplay, y decidi jugarmela asi, y pase horas y horas tratando de derrotarlo, incluso dias, mi unica salvacion para esta pelea era dejarme golpear por los ataques amarillos, que tan jodido debe de ser esto para llegar a ese punto.
Pero cuando lo derrote pufff fue un alivio enorme
I finished this game around... 2008? Back when ps3 was all hype. I borrowed this from a coworker. I had recently moved to a new city, new job and new house. I had my good old fat ps2, dusty and all used it was the only thing that would keep me connected to something familiar in what was a new phase in my life. So, played megaman 7 through megaman aniv collection on ps2.
Boy, it was hard as fuck. It was for me at least. It required the last remenants of the good and hardcore videogamer i used to be. At times i was like "this is too hard, maybe im just not good anymore".
Kept trying day after day until i made it. No sabe states, no cheats. Boy was i happy!
I doubt i could do it again. Seriously.

This game confirms my greatest suspicion about Dr. Wily. If he doesn't have any proper back-up plans, he'll actually admit his defeat and go with you. Now, in cases like MM4, or in MM9, he already had a backup plan handy, but here, he's so distraught that he concedes his defeat to MegaMan.
Funny thing is, the "I am more than a robot" shtick the 'Muricans added in actually cheapens the scene's purpose...

I made my own comment about what they do so just try your best to get hit by the yellow one, all it does is deal damage and the attack he does after it is easy to dodge.

The machine itself is fine, the capsule though is i different story altogether.
i can do the 1st phase of Wily with no damage, it is too easy compared to the capsule one

Just to inform that you could use Thunder Volt on Willy's first form instead of the buster. So basically you wasted the whole time just using the buster, and also there is a tricky. That you can prevent Willy from releasing the small mini skulls. When he jumps all the way up you need to stay very close where he lands. Then when he lands he will just jump the other side. So you won't have to worry about it. Sometimes he will release the mini skulls but not all the time. And that will prevent from you getting damage. On his last form just to inform, you can only hit him twice. If you try to do it again is just a waste of time. Also there is a way to tricky the energy orbs, but that only works if he is way above you need to stay under him when he fires the orbs. You slide to the other side then you can jump all way from it. But the best method in defeating him is trying to hit him twice. Because if you hit him only once every time he appears will take a lot of time. From the orbs if you can't dodge it try at least get hit by the frozen instead of the fire one. Or if the electric one appears try to get it since causes less damage than the others. Because either the frozen or electric orbs will prevent you from being hit from the fire one.

For that first form use tbolt on wiley and junk shield on the little drone guys. Slide under him when he comes at you. I normally beat that form without any damage. Second form owns me though, you do a good job with sliding under the four projectiles.

As a child I always defeated him with ice... I still think that the most difficult boss in the entire Megaman saga... if you never knew his weakness, what's more, the spring weapon does not create any reaction to discover it being a child... A few years ago a friend invited me to his house to beat this Willy in Megaman Collection XD and I did it with ice. ha ha ha.

Honestly this boss isn't that awful. it will rock your shit in the first attempts but all you gotta do is learn how to dodge the attack whenever you can't reach him. most of the time just stand under him, wait for the orbs to appear, then immediatly slide and go to the screen border, then jump towards them when they move. Works most of the time.

Am I the only one who didn't get infuriated at this fight? It's the hardest thing in classic Megaman that isn't Megaman and Bass, but it always felt somehow fair to me. Still haven't beaten it though.
I'm going to admit that I am a newb, but I need to know: how do you make the Wild Coil bounce that high? I had the most miserable time trying to beat this guy because I couldn't aim my shots.

He stole all of light’s robots and Megaman had to battle them in order to get them back in Megaman 1
Wily sent his first line to go after Rock and he had to destroy them in Megaman 2
Wily reprogrammed the robots that he AND light made to battle Megaman for the energy elements for gamma which he stole near the end, not to mention he had Proto Man, Megaman’s own brother, fight him in Megaman 3
He built a time machine to go redo the same schemes over again to end in better outcome with Megaman going back in time to do this stuff again and headed to one more tower to beat wily there and despite chasing him, wily still got away in Megaman the wily wars
He kidnapped kalinka and blamed Megaman, causing Cossack to send robots after him and at the end wily escapes via a rotating door (which that ending is straight up bullshit) in Megaman 4
He framed Proto man for the kidnapping of Doctor light and even then Rock had fought an imposter version of blues and escaped in Megaman 5
Wily pretended to be Mr X and reprogrammed the robots in the contest to take over the world and Megaman had to destroy 8 more robots and fight through his 2 castles and after that defeat he finally arrested him in Megaman 6
But in the beginning of this game he escapes jail and had 4 robots go after Megaman. and after those 4 were destroyed he stole 4 more to go after him and that failed
And after that, wily put Rock through hell by having bass pretend to be an ally to him and betray him by destroying lights’s lab and steal the enhancement parts, made him go through another castle, fight bass “super adapter to super adapter”, and fought Megaman with the hardest capsule boss ever.
