Awesome tutorial! Easy to follow but no important steps left out. For those interested in making the braided section a little longer, here's the lengths I used: Smaller inner cord length: 12' (aka 6' on each side) Longer Outer cord length: 38' (aka 19' on each side) Using these lengths I ended up with a 46" braided section.
Absolutely bud. I'm the same way. Some places and websites charge 50 to 100 bucks, I thought that's ridiculous when you can do it less than 15. Thanks for watching and the comment bud!
Great tutorial, just an idea though: I am making a few of these, and I found that if you measure out the length you want the sling to be, you can just take the entire length of paracord, do a simple slip knot on one attachment, measure the length you want it to be and then do another slip knot on the other attachment, then start the macrame pattern. That way you have one very long piece of paracord instead of two shorter pieces. The whole point of using paracord is so if you need cordage, you have it. Just figuring that one long piece would be more useful than two shorter pieces in an emergency.
That's perfect! Thanks for the tip and watching. Also, you are absolutely right. Your suggestion makes a little more sense, in my opinion. As my Papa always used to say, "there's more than one way to skin a squirrel," lol. Thanks for the tip, and I'm definitely gonna give your way a try. I like the "making it more wide" approach. Thank you so much again for the comment and for taking the time to chat with me!
Just got started using Paracord. Many styles out there for slings. Yours is so Cheap, easy and quick. Will be my first project. Very helpful on how you got the swivels attached. Many of the others tie them in right from the beginning and that requires you to know how long you want it off the bat. Yours allows you to vary the length as you progress through the weave. Well done!
Thanks William! That's the most detailed thank you and I appreciated it bud. I appreciate ya letting me know that makes my video different from others. I can't say enough how much I appreciate your comment. It makes me look in the future on what I can do the separate myself from other channels on videos. Thanks again bud!
Awesome Quentin! Thank you for watching, and that it could help you out! Thanks for the comment. This is why I started my channel. The funny thing about this video is that I did this video just to make content for my channel, and I would never have thought it would be the best video I ever made for my channel. I'm so glad it helped you out, and you were able to do it easily!
Used your tutorial to extended my Chinese T97 sling to fit my western physique lol. Thank you so much. Made my extender in the video runtime with minimal rewinds!
Dude I didn't really think of the difference between the two. Thanks for the detailed comment and watching! Also thanks for subscribing, I really appreciate the support! Have great day!
That is awesome! Thanks for the comment and watching! I'm gonna try to make a video, making one with an 1100 cord. Just for a little more padding and area to fit on your shoulder. Thanks for Watching and Happy New Years!
Used your vid to make my compound bow sling. You're instructions are awesome man! Now I'll make more slings for my family hunting members as well! Thanks for the great video!!
I appreciate you watching! Thanks for the comment and compliment! It sure does save a lot of money doing it yourself instead of dropping 30 dollars every time.
Thank ya bud! I went back and looked at the video and I guess I had a small glitch when it uploaded bc it repeats itself for a minute. Thank ya for the comment and watching!
Thanks brother! I appreciate it man. I've had that happen to me so many times where you gotta step away from what you're doing, then you come back and say "dang what side was I on?". That made me say several times some bad words lol. Thanks for watching man! Good luck on your future endeavors and what ya get into with it.
Awesome! Thank ya! I really need to make some other tutorials for you and others. Just been worn out from work lol. Thanks for the shout out and comment!
I've just determined prior to making the length i need and the entite sling is made from one long piece. Never know if you may need the length in a pinch. Just put both swivels on and start like a bracelet and finish it.
Thanks for the suggestion, Chad! It's definitely a good idea, and like my papa said, "There's more than one way to skin a squirrel," lol. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate the comment and compliment! I'll try to get other videos this summer on how to videos like this one. Thank ya for watching and subscribing Julian!
Thanks buddy, I've been trying to make videos like that one and wanting to do more how to videos. Thanks for watching and subscribing, I appreciate people like you who support me and my channel. All by just hitting that subscribe button means more than anyone can know. It's free and I Thank You!
I'm not certain bud. I was thinking and couldn't really come up with anything. Unless you weaved around the original weave ya did and make the middle your first finished weave and then weave around it. Maybe that would widen it.. Hopefully I was able to explain that to where it's not too confusing haha.
I was just wondering if you were interested in making another one of these videos, the exact same but without the clasp or the swivel hook. I've been making a lot lately for airsoft, Tying it to your gun might be easier if you have the option. Ps Great video.
Awesome comment! Thanks so much! Yeah, I can make another one. It'll take a little bit bc I got several hunting and saltwater fishing videos I've been editing, but I will make it happen for ya! That's a great idea too! I'll start practicing on how to make it better and cheaper, too! Thank you for the encouraging comment and support!
Thank ya and thanks for the comment! I made this video just to be making content, when I first started youtube. I would have never known that it would be probably the best video for my channel. I've gotten more views, comments, and subscribers from this video than all others combined that I've done. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Thank ya and thank ya for subscribing! If I can do any other little videos like this, just let me know. I'll be more than happy to make anything I can to help you and anyone out!
Why is the starter knot so bulky??? Why not just use a girth hitch, rove however many times you need to get the width and thickness you want, then cobra weave over everything...
You could definitely use a smaller knot probably. I just did it that way to give a simple blueprint, and then you can improve from mine by what you recommended. Thank ya for watching and subscribing, I greatly appreciate it! Have a good weekend!
@@beanerooutdoors9213 I used the dollar tree version and the information from this video to make a sling last night for my new AR, the slings they had for sell were like $50, it literally cost me $6 and an hour of time to make one

You can also double the center section (the length part) so that you have even more paracord and a wider sling. :)
