- Does green slime work? - Yes! It's absolutely brilliant in my book! I have been riding after fixing the flat for many weeks now, no problem! Fast and easy, with no need to disassemble, no spanners, no tools, minimising equipment you carry when riding! Having done the front tyre, I think I will now repair the back tire even though it doesn't need fixing - (preventative maintenance!).

Hi new subscriber here, listen just followed your video after getting a puncture yesterday (was gutted) and I cannot breve how good that green slime is! It took just over 5 minitues to fix it and now it's all up and going again I went down the street like a robbers dog on it so thankyou ever so much. I watched other videos of how to fix a puncture before coming across yours and I was ready to pay halfords to fix it because them videos taking off the wheel and all the tools I needed to do it made me depressed! But then I found your channel and the 5 minitue fix and it's frigging brilliant my friend 👏 seriously THANKYOU! I was gonna buy Green Slime quite a few years ago with suffering endless punctures with riding on tracks with sharp stones on them. The price long ago was quite high tho so the best/economic solution at the time was to buy some solid tyres (from a Middlesbrough company called Greentyre) and they worked a treat.
I went over everything pointy just to see how good they were. Some of their tyres are a bit of a hard ride on a bike with no suspension or can feel sluggish depending on tyre weights or improper fit but you'll never need to worry about punctures and heavily worn tyres can easily be recycled.
Nice to see that Green Slime has a good application for all tyres and even smaller and not particularly standard size tyres.

Amazing... you had solid tyres on your bicycle? - A road bike or mountain bike?
It was a mountain bike largely used on tracks, a few inclinations and the odd hill as the ride to work was thru a housing estate and then a country park hence the tracks and the endless punctures/slow punctures.
One you get the right fitting tyres you get little to no rolling resistance. All good stuff!
That type of sealant has been used for agricultural, industrial and offroad tubeless tyres very successfully for many years.
I’m so happy it’s for general use... it’s saved me loads of puncture repairs!
This product is the red slime made specifically for tubed tires
For a tyre that size you should use 2oz also you should clean up the valve with a paper towel to remove any slime before you return the valve core to prevent it from causing problems with the core which could jam it up and cause air loss 👌🏻

I'm a mountain biker and I swear by the stuff!!!
During an 80km ride many years ago I noticed my newly slimed tires lost some pressure and upon getting home I removed the tires to find 26 long thorns puncturing the tire and tube with little bits of slime leaking out. Any one of those thorns would have been a flat under normal conditions but I completed the ride with 1/2 pressure left. GREAT STUFF! ...but note to all: other brands of similar products are not equal. The secret is lots of little threads (nylon?) in the mix which clog the hole.

@@DubiousEngineering I've tried several similar brands over the last 20 years and so far nothing has been the equal of this product. Those threads seem to be the differentiator. There are few products I'm actually evangelical over but Slime is one and it gave me a good smile that you were impressed enough to make a video of it. I've successfully used that slime in mountain bike tyres years ago, but you have to be careful in the future, when checking tyre pressure or attaching a pump, as it eventually blocks the valve, even if you do it with the valve at the top.

@@DubiousEngineering not for ride comfort on the Xiaomi, I had a scooter with the solid wheels and by comparison the pneumatic tyres are much better, on even moderately rough road your teeth will rattle! Also can have an effect on the speed and range
I purchased the M365 pro with pre inserted slime puncture prevention and it still got a flat tyre?
It only helps with small thorns and little screws etc... large tears and rips won’t be fixed

So you put the slime in, blow the inner tube to its recommended maximum, and wait until it seals it off, and tada? That's sounds much easier than changing the inner tube.

You must ride this in a much nicer neck of the woods than where I ride my scooter. I tried Slime and it worked for a few weeks after my rear tire with a hub motor got a flat ~1 mile into the first ride, but it kept spraying out of the larger holes in the tire until the Slime was depleted from the tire time and time again until I couldn't get the tire to hold Slime anymore. I tried Stan's NoTubes Tire Sealant, which worked better, but that also ultimately failed. Also, the tire filled with large clumps of the newer sealant as the Slime kept spraying out before it had a chance to harden into clumps. Plus I was riding around in triple digit temperatures on scorching hot asphalt with strong headwinds, causing the motor to really struggle to keep the scooter moving forward. What finally defeated Stan's NoTubes tire sealant was a rusty finishing nail that went through the bottom of the tire and out the sidewall of the tire as I rode past a homeless person who had their stuff blocking the sidewalk and spilling out into the street.
Aww man... sounds like airless tires would be good for you... perhaps even solid or foam filled.
@@DubiousEngineering Actually working on airless tires. The problems with the first ones I got is they are way super hard to get on without special tooling beyond normal tools you would have to work on a scooter tire. Also, while I found my scooter on the list and the outer dimensions match the stock tires, the rim is actually much wider than the airless tire where it meets up with the rim to the point where one side falls into the inner, more middle part of the rim. So now I am working on getting my hands on wider tires that look to be from the spec sheet on the edge of contacting the fenders. I am thinking as they stretch, they end up being slightly thinner on the hub as I have already measured and confirmed with the current airless tires, so this should push it into it works without rubbing the fenders or jamming the wheel against the fenders. We will see soon if I am right about these wider tires if they both actually fit on the rim and fit under the fenders. I tried to be reasonably careful about the measurements and everything points to it will be really close, but likely work out. There are not that many tires with these particular dimensions, so somewhat limited in what I can try and then it is back to pneumatic if these don't work. Apparently, the expectation is to have a bigger ratio between the widest part of the tire and the width of the rim. But then the fenders are designed more around the max width of the tire, so you can end up in a tricky situation real fast if your scooter doesn't follow this expectation. Also would be nice if more scooters had split rims to make it easier to go to solid tires, especially as the bigger wheels end up with much bigger and harder to get on solid tires.

I have used slime over the years in motorcycle tyres, the last being a Suzuki Sv650 which caught a screw straight in the middle of the rear wheel, that would have been a new one plus fitting, so £130 - 150 one tube of the green stuff and the tyre was still on and holding pressure over a year later when I sold it, so yeah it's not magic and for certain types of puncture it won't work, but for the majority of it I'd back it all the way considering the price is around £10

Both vehicles are tubed... and both are still working really well. No slow punctures ... everything is fine and dandy.

I added slime to both my tyres and now the pressure guage doesn't read when I'm re-inflating. I can reinflate, I just don't know if I'm putting in too much. I've tried two different psi pumps and they only read like 5psi but way more is going in. Have I blocked the tubes with slime?

I was not able to get the valve removed. Tried everything. The tool cap broke almost immediately. Then I tried tweezers and still couldn't get the valve off. Now I have a bottle of slime that I can't even use. I have to find a repair shop to swap out the inner tube...such a pain to have these scooters serviced!

@Scarlet Ice Thanks for the tip! I'll look for it on Amazon in case i get another flat in the future. Ultimately, I did find a repair shop (NYC Electric Scooters) that fixed the flat with a new inner tube I bought. But good to know about this option.
On the bottle There is a paper gasket under the screw-on cap if you peel this off the slime should flow freely out of the bottle

Still going strong... I’ve done both tires now... no problems. I’ve also done my bicycle tires .... fixed a slow puncture.
I just applied some to my m365 Pro and have one bottle left extra 😳
I didn't less as you did tho, I used half the bottle in the front wheel and half the bottle in the rear.
Some advice, don't use such a small bicycle pump, use a pressure pump with a (psi) pressure indicator, I'd recommend pumping front wheel to 45psi
rear wheel to 50ps1 (based on 80kg rider weight)
This high tire pressure helps prevent any sort of punctures.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

i used the green slime before i used my scooter when i first purchased it. 2 weeks later, seems like my scooter has a flat, i tried to inflate it but doesn't seem like it's taking air. could there be a hole in the inner tube? and should i put more slime to see if that will help??!?!? i need help!!! :( i have the fluidfree horizon scooter with a pneumatic front wheel.
No harm in putting an oz or so more slime in to see if it helps... id definitely do that rather than try to remove the tire and innertube... Good luck!!

Nope, the inner tube is punctuerd on the outside. Also, the metal rim separates the hub from the tyre. No chance of damage.

In thumbnail, the scooter is laying on side when applying slime. Is this deff the right way? I see others fill tire with scooter standing upright. I’m just checking because I’m going to order tubeless tire green slime.

Good question! If it's tubeless, youd think there would be a seal between the tyre and motor, so should all be fine. That said, it may make a mess of the hub when you want to change the tyre.

You need to remove the inner valve from the air filling stub. It unscrews. Watch the vid 😀

@Phil C did you take the paper lid off the top of the bottle :-) 😀 that caught me out too!!! Unscrew the cap and remove the paper ... make sure the slime is coming out of the tube

@Phil C blow into the inner tube make sure its accepting air from your mouth. Squeeze the bottle, make sure slime comes out of the slime tube. Something is blocked, do some basic faultfinding to establish if its the slime bottle straw or the innertube
I buy it i have 473ml ,u have in the video 473ml but i don't know how much I should put in there and also in the xiaomi scooter

It worked really well for me. I only had a small puncture. It won't work with big splits, but if you treat the scooter with respect, it's all good 👌

Unfortunately it doesnt always work. Tire size, hole size, where the hole is etc. Ive never had trouble with a patch when done right.

I used this in the rear tire for my m365, I got a mile down the road and then the tyre went again. I also tried it when the front tyre went flat, no luck. The valve removal tool in the cap of the bottle is also pretty brittle, so after a couple of uses it disintegrates and can break the valve core if you are not careful (by getting black plastic stuck in it). Maybe I was just unlikely, but I won't be using it again.
I loved your comment, and I agree... it’s not perfect... some say it gets into their tyre pressure gauge and gums it up... that said, the four tyres I have repaired with it so far have continued to work really well... no problems for me. Thanks for your feedback!!! All the best!!!!

Mine worked ok... get various results. If it’s a pin puncture then it’s no problem... if it’s a split, it won’t fix it. It’s worth a try anyway as disassembly is a bloomin nightmare!!!

the valve plastic tool is fragile and can break easily . my suggestion is to be sure to have a real valve tool incase the plastic one break

it only works if the puncture is on the centre band of the tyre. If the puncture is on the side of the tyre, such as when the shear and friction forces cause tears in the tyre, it will not work at all, unless you fill half the tube with it.

I have a flat and was going to order some of this. I can’t find any hole in my tire. If I try to pump it up and the puncher is on the side of tire, will I hear or be able to feel air coming out the side? I ordered a new tire but I thought I’d try slime on my flat tire first. As I’ve heard others say on TH-cam and reviews that they have got 1000km plus after using slime on e scooter. So I thought I’d give it a try. I actually bought green slime months ago but I didn’t use it and when I went to, yesterday, I realised that I bought inner tube slime and I need tubeless green slime. Tbh I don’t think I was aware that there was 2 types when I ordered it.

Green slime (The brand Slime) is wank. Doesn't work due to the pressure of the tyre being so high ie 3.5 bars on the small tyres. I've purchased a different one called Koko puncture liquid etc. Let's see how that goes.

i used this and it did not work i then bought a 4 pound thing of silicone and put that in it works better.

Using green slime on your tire doesnt seems good it will not prevent air going out from tire , it will work for a while but not long time , i used to applied this but got frustrated and it is messy
Thanks for the feedback... I put mine in about two years ago and everything seems ok at the moment... no problems yet.
Im using slime for 5 months, had 3 flats and does not help much in 2 of 3 flats, tire looses air more slowly and thats it. SLIME IS USELESS.
Interesting.... i think it depends on how big the punctures are... if they are small punctures, little screws pins etc it works, but splits don't get sealed up by it.

Slime is bollocks.
I work at a scooter repair shop. We've tried all kind of slimes and it never works. All it does is make a huge mess.
Just change the tube. a new tube is probably cheaper than a can of slime anyways.
It’s a fair comment... it worked well for me but I only had a small hole. Changing the driven wheel tube is a right pain in the ass if you don’t have the right tools! Lucky for you that you work in a scooter shop :-)
