Regional center acts like they are a way to help children with developmental disabilities. Yet the service coordinator are not knowledgeable of your case. They only service children until they are 3 years of age. What about other diagnosis??? It's a lie... You are only given support until children are 3 years of age. Inland Regional Center had a lawsuit in 2012 for an employee who was treated unfairly. Do your research because you have to pay Inland regional centers a 200 yearly fee. Even if they don't do their job correctly.

Christina, I want to suggest you call the officer of the day in your regional center. The regional center does not stop providing support and resources at age 3. If someone is telling you that they are wrong. There are certain services that transfer to school at age 3, but there are plenty of things the Regional Center can do and does for individuals over the age of 3. Also there are many qualifying diagnosis, not just autism. Please don't give up on the regional center. It sounds like you have had a bad experience, but if you get connected to the right people I think you will find help there.
