- Cab plays a ladies’ man who dates the wife of a train porter who is frequently absent from home. In addition to this tongue-in-cheek plot, Cab Calloway and His Orchestra perform “Harlem Camp Meeting,” and Calloway has two vocals, “Zaz-zuh-zaz” and “The Lady with the Fan.”

Cab calloway was the swing era equivalent of Prince and Michael Jackson. Cab calloway was the bomb.

I’m 70 and I waited all my life to enjoy such music and magic. My parents were both born well before 1920 and I remember this on 78 rpm records long gone.
No matter how much he moved his hair it just magically fell back into place 🥰

My dad took me to his concert in the mid-70s in SF on NYE and it was better than Elvis or the Stones. Doing the hi de ho chant in the crowd is something that I will pass down to my grandkids...

Saw him in person at a Harlem Globe Trotters game in Los Angeles in the early 60s or late 50s? I was a kid. I’m 75 now what a thrill! I didn’t know who he was but saw him in Blues Brothers movie. My stepdad tried to tell me who he was but found out later. What a game that was with Meadowlark Lemon on the Globetrotters and high energy Cab Calloway!

Hi Di Ho and Minnie the Moocher are Cab Calloway's most famous recordings. He was so popular they immortalized him in Cartoons which is an accomplishment. Now, every generation can learn about him. Even little children, if their parents enlighten them as my mother did her children. This was my sisters favorite by Cab Galloway.
Cab Calloway was one of the best entertainers of all time I heard about him when I was a child I watched him in movies and an old videos and movies and the band was so*so*young people need to watch this just to know how to be cool
