Bugs bunny cartoons planted the seed to us about Cab back in the 70s. Then seeing him in the BLUES BROTHERS was cool. Now it’s utube university that’ll hip some of the young. Cabs train will keep on keeping on.

Cab Callaway is the coolest dude ever! When I lived in New Orleans I saw him perform in 1980, and oh man, he still had it! But seeing him here in his prime is such a delight... When he sings it just gladdens my heart and lifts my spirits in these troublesome times ...
My dad took me to his concert in the mid-70s in SF on NYE and it was better than Elvis or the Stones. Doing the hi de ho chant in the crowd is something that I will pass down to my grandkids...
The thing is, there's virtually no one in the entertainment "business" that even HAS class and style....so of course they can't replicate it. Especially when compared to a LEGEND like Cab Calloway !

I’m 70 and I waited all my life to enjoy such music and magic. My parents were both born well before 1920 and I remember this on 78 rpm records long gone.
Although I hate witnessing the colorism (you could NEVER see a darker-skinned sista as a love interest, or interest of desire in these old films) ..I, still, LOVE watching old footage and films with our Black legends, such as Cab Calloway, The Nicolas Brothers, etc ..THANKS for sharing :)

Saw him in person at a Harlem Globe Trotters game in Los Angeles in the early 60s or late 50s? I was a kid. I’m 75 now what a thrill! I didn’t know who he was but saw him in Blues Brothers movie. My stepdad tried to tell me who he was but found out later. What a game that was with Meadowlark Lemon on the Globetrotters and high energy Cab Calloway!
