I hope these new ships keep coming, any new content is so welcome! Also ill happily buy this with arx especially if it keeps my favourite game going then all is well!
I like that boxed design it is so much different from other ED ships..it will be nice to play agin some engeneering and I think to make one for explo and one for cargo
As a pure trader, it does have the Python beat. But that's the only area, thankfully. The hardpoints are basically rubbish. Which is what they should be on a pure trader. My big fear was they were going to power creep and make the ol' Python obsolete, but they seem to have been careful to not do that. I could probably put together a fairly decent combat loadout with those hardpoints off the top of my head. But it'd be a bit quirky. And not suitable for everyone. 2x Cytoscramblers, 3x Hi-cap AMRs and a corrosive multicannon would give it enough teeth to deal with most threats. Assuming it doesn't handle like a tractor. The only thing that bothers me is the class 7 optional internal on a Medium ship. It feels as though it's only a Medium ship for added functionality, and realistically it wouldn't be due to the size of the module. Since it is, then I feel the Imperial Clipper should also be re-classified as a Medium ship, since that's the one thing about it which really stops it being used more than it is. I feel like any ship having an optional internal slot larger than a class 6 should be a Large ship. But obviously they wanted this one to be able to trade from outposts so it's more of a convenience thing rather than lore-based, and they need to look at what their ship size classifications actually mean.
I agree and I mostly trade too but it really doesn't matter to me that it's not a combat ship, my combat rank is helpless even after 300 hours + and it was a strategy to stay there since the NPC's strength are rated with your combat rank. I can take any mission without caring about the danger associated with it since I can pretty much escape any NPC the game throws at me with an A rated type 8. The type 8 is just awesome for the job
Finally a ship that can make a significant dent/addition on M-pad station markets without needing to be 2 days on the move. Certainly good for laser mining, those slots can house a significant amount of limpets and controllers etc. Core mining, I'll need to check. Likely ok for that. For explorers, The Tritium Miner, if I ever take the carrier far out this comes with it.
I'm getting it the day it becomes available I already have the ARX and 2 billion credits burning a hole in my pocket to max it out, I just wish they decide to push the release date forward into July... I want that ship I'm going to run it without shields, hope it's fast enough. If it's anything close to the original python I'll be a happy camper loll
I'll still be grabbing one to play with but not with arx. The hard points are disappointing. I'm not understanding why it needs 5 smalls. I'm sure some creative use of those small hardpoints will yield something passable though. Nothing about the utility slots. This ship is shaping up to be almost too niche for me except in certain uses. Would probably make an awesome rescue ship but the war will be over by then.
You mean size/class 5 and 3 right. Grade would A-E. Will buy 1 for each account. Also you list off 7 modules then say “so that’s 9 modules” I think you missed 2x size 5
I like it a lot, I just wish they would have done something more cockpit wise, keep the Lakon style but make a new one, this one is just a copy/paste... A little disappointing...

@@Mike_EOD well 2 more this year

AND NOW MORE INFORMATION COMES TOLIGHT ABOUT CARGO SIZE, MODULES AND SPEED - also availability

I think it's going to be a must have for the exo geniuses. Adding more dimension to their cause. Getting those scans and hauling salvage. Brilliant..
I can see that, but for me, the small footprint is desirable so I can land in mountains.

I wanna use it for mining since it'll use a medium landing pad
Can't wait to hear the engine sounds
Sounds like a sponge cake, something for everybody to enjoy. The Vultures will enjoy this cake.
Any idea what the minimum shield size is for the Type 8? You can sport a size 4 prizzy on the Python.
It has a class 6 slot

I think the two extrusions move, for what reason I don’t know, could it possibly be an everything ship, covers all activities ? 👍
love the ship. Only thing is I wished it could be a good miner. but love the cargo space and the jump potential.
oh I think it could be a good miner - certainly has the space and then fit it out with lasers to hit those rocks
You forgot the two size 5
I did
wow.. this is gonna be afun ship to fly!!!
well I think it will be quick to say the least
I like combat mostly, I will try the ship at some point, possibly as a mining ship, but won't be dropping ARX for it.
they are gonna have to factor this into the gameplay
I'll spend real money 💰 it supports the developers. My month isn't complete without supplements of ARX. I'm just not me without them 😊

the 5 small will make it difficult for a AXI build but then the game is not all about the Thargoids
This looks more like a mining ship than a trader, mining equipment is class 1 and 2
Could be good for rhat

Laser mining?
Total mass is ……?
Will it have salvage paint job..?
well possibly
I'll buy it with Arx.
same here

quintessential LAKON
I say SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY 💵
