This tells such a fascinating story. Link enters Morshu’s shop and the salesman instantly takes a dislike to him. Link, for his part, antagonizes the shopkeep by withholding his many rupees and trying to get deals on everything. Eventually, Link gives in and buys at Morshu’s prices-after all, he does have to save the world. Using Morshu’s purchased stock, he rids the world of Ganon and his minions. However, this awakens something in him-a bloodlust. Link returns to Morshu’s shop and starts trying to bargain with him again, this time using his newfound status as the Hero of Koradai. Morshu is confused and annoyed, wondering why Link keeps pestering him and questioning why he’s so insistent when he no longer has any important quest and seemingly just wants to bomb the wildlife. Morshu, exasperated, tells Link that he isn’t reneging on his prices. He says that Link should go grind for rubies. Morshu most likely meant this in the traditional “hit the grindstone” way, meaning that he should work hard to get the money, but Link instead takes this as an invitation to slaughter many of the residents of Koradai, including some of Morshu’s other customers. Link returns, but Morshu is shocked at his actions. He shouts that Link is trying to scam him and threatens him with his bombs, then reveals to Link that the swordsman murdered his customers but their spirit lives on in this humble shopkeep, now blessed with the power of MONETIZATION. Furious and bloodlusting, Link at last tries to cut Morshu down-but unlike Ganon, the monsters, and the customers, Morshu blocks his blow with only a dry chuckle and a proclamation.
"I am their MERCY, I am their POWER, I am MONETIZATION" Dude, that line shouldn't go as hard as it goes but it does! It makes me imagine Morshu as the one behind the curtain pulling all the strings to keep his war business going.
He looks nice so I think it's actually about him having the power to profit from it but instead using it to prevent escalation of the conflict and also to face Link who lost his mind because of all the war and killing
A lot of people have already noted that the latter part of the song re-contextualizes Morshu as less of a greedy villain and more of a hero, but I particularly like how, if you look at the lines where he specifically mentions link's lack of money and how he needs to get "richer", it starts to sound like he's trying to make link remember what he did to get the rubies he currently has, more of a psychological attack than asking for more money.
Truly a masterpiece of cinematic storytelling. Initially Morshu is portrayed as a rude shopkeeper that only cares about money whereas Link is portrayed as a hero trying to save the kingdom. Yet the observant viewer might notice that Morshu's main verse "I know you've got rupees" is rather curious. Wasn't Morshu mocking Link for being poor? Then in an Oscar-winning plot twist, we learn that Link has been indiscriminately slaughtering innocent civilians and looting their corpses. Morshu then reveals the true reason as to why he acted so harshly: He does not want Link's blood money, and refuses to sell him anything to make sure that Link cannot continue his rampage. An enraged Link swings at him, in a scene reminiscent of the fatal attack that the protagonist of Undertale unleashes against Sans. A viewer might expect that this would kill Morshu, just like it did Sans, but the story subverts the viewers expectations by having Morshu easily parry Link's attack. tl;dr I can't believe Morshu memes are still fucking relevant.

In the Sans Battle song, he says "It'd be a crime if I had to go back on the promise that I made for you." very sarcastically. But in this song, Morshu actually sounds slightly sad and disappointed to have to say that. It really made me feel something, and I feel bad for Morshu for having to kill such a young boy over a few rubies, but he knows that this goes deeper than just some money. All his customers are dead, people he built relationships with, and have known and worked with for years. This may be a young boy, but they're still a murderer.

One day, Link travels to the store run by humble shopkeeper Morshu. Link constantly attempts to haggle down prices, a fact that frustrates Morshu and together with the unreliability of Link's income, causes him to declare that he doesn't give credit. He then declares that Link should leave until he is richer. It is at this point Morshu realises that Link possesses sufficient rubies to purchase lamp oil, rope and bombs. Link presumably buys the products at full price and goes on to save the land from the evil that plagues it. Now lauded with praise as the Hero, Link returns to Morshu's store with a vengeance. He asks to buys bombs and yet again aggravates Morshu by trying to haggle the price down, to which Morshu expresses his annoyance as Link seemingly only wishes to buy bombs so he can terrorise the Dodongo population. Morshu yet again tells Link that he will not drop his prices and threatens him with a bomb. It is at this point revealed that Link murdered all of Morshu's other customers simply to spite him and that the spirits of the townsfolk live on in his shop. He taunts Link with his powers of monetization, and Link, in a fit of rage, draws his sword upon the defenseless shopkeeper. As the blade comes closer, the spirits of the dead townsfolk, desperate to stop Link from taking the life of their beloved shopkeeper, grant Morshu their power. Morshu easily blocks the blade and mocks Link, noting his own material wealth and power surpass that of the young Hero.
*Link:* _"Oh great,_ You're back, and you're singing _again?_ Why?! Sentence-mixing is just a cheap tactic to make _unimportant side characters_ funnier! Quit embarrassing yourself- I've seen what you _really_ are!" *Morshu:* _(chuckles,)_ "No, you _haven't."_
