Ive been listening to Country since1968 or so and I dont recall ever hearing one of Skips songs played on the Country stations. He is an extraordinary artist. He is magic with lyrics and music. His songs ALL tell a story or express feelings that each and everyone has felt at some time in our lives. He is truly exceptional and its sad that a man of his talent hasnt received the recognition he deserves. Kudos Skip.
Thank you Matthew for sharing this. Mr. Ewing never got the recognition he so deserved, it;s a shame. I love his music, and the stories that he tells in them.
It’s AMAZING how an artist can write a song, a speak word for word, things we’ve thought and things we’ve felt. In our sadness, there’s a comfort in knowing, that others have felt the same things in life that we have. THANK YOU SKIP
This song has meant so very much to me over the years. I wore his albums and tapes out. I know I bought three tapes of this ablum!! I just dropped in to listen again and realize just how poignant the song is. in 2014, my beautiful niece Erica Faith Hagan was brutally murdered in Chile. NOW...this song makes me immediately think of her. Especially from 2:20 minutes until the end. I would love to see Skip play this live. I know it was written about something else, but it paints such a picture. I think that is why they call him an artist.
I'm so sorry about your loss, and couldn't be more mesmerized by how well you summarized skip. What an amazing man, and props to you for realizing his greatness
Skip brings back memories of my years in Nashville. An outstanding writer, singer, talented artist with the key to open the hearts of all who enjoy true musical storytelling. His lyrics are simply heartfelt and worthy of praise! Thanks Skip!
Truly a superstar songwriter, singer, and musical arranger. He never got the recognition he deserves. I'll listen to Skip anytime.

This song gets me every time. Wow. He’s the best ever.

He had quite a bit of airplay in the late 80's.
Many songs were done by more prominent artists. But yes very under appreciated.
