This is one of the most professional movers I've ever seen.
Thank you very much. 🤙
Thank you. The use of a hump strap, with a set at each end as you describe, might make it practical for me to move the 65-lb second row seats from my minivan up 20 steps to my storage room.
It should help. I'll make a video showing how to move furniture and items like that.
Thank you
No problem at all! 😊
Awesome!
Thanks for watching Ann!
I’ve done local and long distance on and off for around a decade (west coast) and have never seen any dudes (even old timers or out-of-towners) do this. Wonder if it just never percolated out here. Had an older dude help out on an offload in southern CA and he barely spoke English but he sure made himself clear that I should be using hump straps/the back carry. After probably too little experimentation I decided that in most scenarios it is more time/labor efficient to use other methods (2wheel or fast two man carry). But for the task of carrying dish packs it is truly elegant. FWIW me and most of my coworkers come to moving from other athletic backgrounds…I came into the field as a 20 y/o with a far greater understanding of lift/body mechanics then any of my adult coworkers. Hard to imagine all the old-school dudes who didn’t have that info-I guess these are the solutions they came up with! Love the videos!
I'm puzzled here; this video refers to the strap as nylon, but the link to Amazon is currently pointing to a 100' roll of cotton strap. Which fabric do you prefer for this purpose?
I miss spoke about the straps material in the video. Didn't realize that until now. We purchase the 100ft rolling cotton strap. We use this because we cut it into 6 to 8ft sections to be used as a Hump strap. The cotton is softer on our hands and a little easier on the furniture. Over months of continuous use, the strap will wear out and need to be replaced. So, having the 100ft roll is useful for professionals. The thing is, you can use almost any strap as a Hump Strap. The Hump Strap is less of an actual strap and more of a technique. I have been in a pinch before and had to pull apart a ratchet strap to used the long end of the strap as a Hump Strap. Those are usually Nylon.
What do old school van liners and gun shop owners have in common? They know it all and don’t teach many much 😂
Well, that ends today. We are "Old School Vanliners" who are hear to add transparency to the industry and educate anyone who wants to learn.
Dish pack usually on first floors. Just use ramps for stairs and 2 wheeler with a high pistol grip dolly and take 3 dish packs in per trip.
That might work out west or in coastal regions but, in the north east most homes are not built on level ground. Quite often we will have a flight of stairs to get to the home. You would need to bring several sets of 16ft walk boards if we did what you are suggesting. We almost never use 2 wheelers because they end up slowing us down.
@@StumpfMovingandStorage I stand corrected, you are right.

Can you please explain what you mean by this?
I will probably NEVER do this. Wishful thinking i guess.. 😂
