Thank you! New to Rope Flow, and your demonstration/explanation of the Gardinal Laws was the best I’ve seen! I appreciate the guidance, and I am now subscribed! Tomorrow mornings session should be more fun
Nice vid, the explanation of the hand movement, underhand back upwards overhand down and forwards was a new for me having explored a few rope flow youtubers vids already. Also liked the emphasis on turning and transitioning as a fundamental.
Great video! I just got my first rope, and this video gave me heeps of important information. My rehab trainer is a big Weck guy, so I have some experience with some of the basics - but this video 'tied it all together' for me and will sure help me get the most out of training with the rope. Good on you and thank you so much for providing this information, peace and success brother 🙏
This is a great introductory video. Thank you for posting it. When I swing my rope, it has a habit of twisting on itself, so it doesn't swing as cleanly as yours. I can stop this (or slow it down) by holding the rope a bit more firmly, but that doesn't seem consistent with how loosely you hold your rope. Do you have anyother suggestions on how to stop the rope from twisting? Thanks in advance.
Hello and thank you for your comment. Yes, to solve this issue you must hold the rope loosely and let the rope rotate in your hands. This will stop it from twisting on itself and inhibiting your flow. It can take some practice but eventually you will be able to feel where the rope should be and so you just loosen your grip to let the rope adjust to the correct orientation. I hope that helps!

Is there benefit to using a heavier rope for building muscle? I am not in shape but could see that doing this with a heavier rope would also build muscle in areas that I need it.
Of course there is a benefit in using a heavier rope. It can be a great choice if you already feel confident in the basic rope flow patterns and are ready to increase the challenge. I also find that some exercises work particularly well with heavier ropes and some work better with a lighter rope. Best just to have a play and see what you find works for you. As a rule of thumb, the 12mm Thunderbolt we offer is suitable for the largest number of people
I’ve been doing this a while (months), have made my own rope, mastered overhand and underhand, matador, dragon roll…but the cardinal law is driving me nuts. I’ve watched your video and others over and over but as I turn I cannot see how which way I’m facing changes the direction I’m revolving the rope…and in fact it doesn’t! I’m failing to see something but I have a brain block.
Thanks for your comment Peter. Don't worry, this is very normal in the beginning. The main principle behind the cardinal laws is that when you continue to spin the rope whilst turning your body 180 degrees, you will effectively transition from overhand to underhand or vice versa. Keep practicing your overhand and underhand and try transitioning smoothly between the two by turning your body around 180 degrees. To help in the beginning stages, whilst transitioning pause halfway (at 90 degrees) and perform what is called the propeller, meaning you simply revolve the rope across your body, then continue to turn and complete the transition by going all the way to 180 degrees. I hope this helps a little, let me know if you need any more specific tips, Kind regads, Mark
