I'm glad someone finally pointed out how dark it was for Cal to double tap Bode like that. While I wouldn't say it makes him a fallen Jedi, it's definitely a big step towards that direction.
I think it was pretty necessary in Bode's case. The two literally both shot at each other, Bode's gun just wasn't working. The double tap was really Cal ending Bode and Kata's suffering through his death.
Im getting tired of people saying this, so i'll explain: cal is NOT a gray jedi or anything besides a jedi. Mace Windu decapitated a man, he's still a jedi. During every canon kill Cal has executed, he had a calm face on, holding back his anger. Thats what binds a jedi.
The term jedi is a lot more flexible than the Fandom gives it credit for. Gray jedi is a good way to describe a typical jedi that leans away from prequel tradition, but the problem with the prequel jedi is that they saw grey jedi and anyone other than perfect as not jedi.
We don't know what Cal is yet, we'll explore that in the next game. As Cere said, there's permanent battle with the dark side when you're a Jedi. For now he's just struggling
If killing a man who tried to kill you, your girlfriend and his daughter multiple times, after being spared over and over again isn't a justified killing, then nothing is. Cal did the Jedi thing by saving 4 lives by ending 1. If being a Jedi means allowing that monster to live and finish the job, then the order deserved to fall.
Still that little moment when bode attempted to shoot him but his gun was broken cal didn’t have to shoot him, he easily could have just knocked him out and put him in stasis like dagan
@@TheShadowNinja He took him out the same way Bode took out master Cordova with two blaster shots while staring into his eyes... but he did give him a few chances before doing so. Honestly the death of Cordova hurt me like anything else in the game.
I don’t think it’s fair to say cal isn’t a “Jedi” anymore. Mace was about to kill an “unarmed” palpatine and Obi wan shot Greivous with a blaster. Everyone still considers both of them to be Jedi.
Fair point, but I think it’s also fair to say what Mace did wasn’t in the way of the Jedi, it’s why Luke threw his lightsaber away in ROTJ. We do have to remember the order we saw were not truly Jedi’s anymore. You could trap cal in tanalor and make a little retcon on how time works in that planet in comparison to the rest of the galaxy. Making him available to use in his prime for future movies or shows idk…
What if some astronomical event happens that left Tanalorr isolated from the rest of the galaxy? Something that would make impossible traveling throughout the abyss back to the known galaxy. Maybe they can find a way to travel to another galaxy from there using Nihil technology left behind in Tanalorr, for instance. He didnt give into the darkside at the end like u are saying, he showed himself to be a true jedi. what are u even talking about, did we even play the same game like whaaaaaaaaaaaaat. Bode killed 2 people cal cared for & loved very much, as well as stole the sole reason cal was getting his family back. cal then decide not only to forgive him so his daughter doesnt have to grow up without a family aka clearly not the darkside choice dude, but also continues to forgive him again after he refuses the offer of peace & tries to kill cal & merrin, this happens multiple times. during the battle cal & merrin get the upper hand twice & both times they try to end the fight peacefully with no one dead. bode literally wouldnt back down & forces them to kill him, to the point bodes daughter isnt even mad at cal or merrin. the daughter was there & saw how her dad refused to choose peace again & again & again. it got to the point, when bode was choking merrin, cal realized hes never going to listen. the only option he has is to let bode kill him, greez & merrin or kill bode. so he choose the only good option, bode was straight up evil, corrupted, scared & destroyed inside, he would have twisted his daughter into something she never would have wanted to be. putting that aside though, cal still made the right choice, he tried to chose not to take revenge multiple times simply bc he didnt want the child to loose her family like they all did, thats the lightside choice. bode did not care & was going to force his daughter to watch her dad be killed or kill people that r clearly here not as enemies. thats the darkside choice, cal fought on the side of the light against the darkside, how is that not being a jedi. maybe u could say he is using the darkside so hes falling from the jedi ways but there r jedi like that have used the darkside before & arent considered fallen jedi like um idk... qui gon jin for example, except he actually fell fully into the darkside where as cal didnt even try to take revenge on bode he was forced into it & looked remorseful afterwards.
I don't know why Star Wars fans are so obsessed with the idea that Darth Vader is this all powerful super badass, where even a Jedi Master giving him a hard time is somehow unbelievable. I think the fight in this game plays out great, his whole deal is fear, he's big and imposing, but if you don't fear him then he's just a big slow cyborg man who moves like a droid, that's how Luke beats him in Return of the Jedi, he lets go of his fear. I genuinely think in the third game Cal will beat Vader in a fight, the rule of threes says so, run away in the first game, almost get him in the second game, beat him in the third. People will be mad, but I'll love it. I'll give them bonus points if Merrin helps because having Anakin Skywalker get beaten by the healthiest couple in Star Wars would be the definition of Irony.
Honestly kinda hope vader isn’t in it. Cere and Vader have a reason bc Cere lost her padawan to him. Cal doesn’t really have anything besides Vader being the one to kill Cere. Which, was Bode’s fault which he’s not gone. What ever the third game may be about I hope it tells us why Cal wasn’t around during the original trilogy.. he doesn’t have to die, but give us a solid story to leave us satisfied and not questioning why he didn’t help luke lol
I kinda of see Bodes point. Like out of all people he would truly know how easy it is to infiltrate groups. Especially groups bulilt on hope and believe in good of people. Hopefully Cal learns his lesson and trusts less people and be more cautious
You have one of the best reviews for this game. I get the game came out with bugs and performance issues and I’m sorry for that, but the gameplay and story are phenomenal, and tbh just off of those two this game is still a GOTY contender for me.
I play on PC and only had issues on the first day, after that, aside from the occasionally little bugs you would expect from a new game, everything worked fine!👍🏻 And I'm not even using a high-end machine. Intel i7 CPU (something with F at the end), and RTX 3060ti GPU and 16 GB DDR4 RAM on 1080p, Windows 11 and with max graphics settings and RTX on, everything worked almost as smooth as with Jedi: Fallen Order. I'm happy with the performance on PC and was able to experience and enjoy this game as it should be👍🏻
Finally, a fan and content creator that understands Star Wars and isn't just out to bash Disney or Kathleen for "ruining their childhood". Someone that enjoys the content as it should be. Because if you take a step back and just join the ride, it's fantastic content. Personally I thought Jedi Survivor was one of the best Star Wars games ever made. Truly excited to see how the third game will end. I suspect Cal will end up sacrificing himself for Merrin and Kata, or just Kata. I highly doubt there is a happy ending to this. We know the state of the galaxy during this point. But I am fine with that, and I am fine if my theories are wrong. That's part of the fun.
Yeah while I don’t love everything that may come out with Star Wars, it’s fun to be getting something that makes me feel like a kid no matter the age. It’s funny you mention Disney and Kathleen, bc while I have my issues with her.. it’s more on the fact that with movies there’s always some strange disagreement that makes the movie canned, besides that she’s part of the Mandolorian being a thing. So she’s done plenty of good too haha
Bleeding is not the only way to get a red blade, even in new canon. Other creators have mentioned. Natural pre colored force essenced crystals ( aka KOTOR, the crystal cave remember? ). The Sith choose traditionally red as their color. They did however made an easier way of mass producing alchemically artificial red crystals, instead of hunting/ exhausting red natural ones. Artificials are mostly stronger than the natural ones ( like in real life artificial diamonds are stronger than natural ). The last way and is the forefront way in new Canon is bleeding a natural CLEAR kyber crystal or alredy emotinally bonded k.crystal which have a current color
I was speaking on Luke during the original trilogy, since this game is before we need to lead to one Jedi in play or they must be outta play for some reason. Grogu wasn’t discovered yet since The Mandolorian is after Return of the Jedi, so he’s still captured and getting tests ran on. In The Last Jedi Luke tells Kylo that he’s not the last Jedi anymore, as that mantle is now Rey’s but we know there’s a Jedi movie coming out 15years after Episode 9
Something i do find frustrating is even in this video people say Bode did it for himself I will admit i have watched the entire game and alot of the side content but i havent got to play it yet because i do not have a ps5 That being said Im kind of on bodes side but also not People will see that he pushed his daughter and all that and say hes a selfish dickhead but completely ignore how he was with her the first time we see her Heres the thing you have to think of the circumstances here He knows Cal is pissed and he has a nightsister with him who uses the dark side who is also pretty not happy He is having to fight them and his daughter keeps trying to get directly into the battlefield Breaking the bridge he could have been more gentle but he was trying to keep her from coming over and trying to stop the fight which could result in her being injured He didnt expect cal to go through a magic vent and knock him under the bridge and he is trying to fight the 2 of them off The bridge nearly collapsing was not his intention *thank you merrin for saving his daughter* And that final part when he force pushes her People are screaming abuse and i do think he could have been more gentle but She keeps trying to run right into the danger area If she tried to grab his arm and cal got free Then she is literally right in-between them so any attacks either to defend or offend could hit her I know he could have been nicer but i think i would rather be mean to my child rather then risk them getting chopped in half by a laser sword or hit by a stray energy bolt Even at the end he apologizes to her And he asks Cal "can you protect my little girl?" He probably will in the next game but think about this from bodes perspective everyone thinks he is selfish but right now Cal is battle hungry , he keeps engaging the empire and planned on turning tanallor into a rebel base This is an issue even if bode goes along with it do you wanna know why? Cal will be the one using the compass i guarantee meaning he is leaving tanalorr Meaning kata and possibly bode if he dosent go are stuck there If cal storms a military base and is killed and they get the compass then not only is bode and kata stuck there now But now the empire will figure out what it is and storm tannalor and want it as a their own secret base and will want to kill the "Terrorist Insurgents" there as they would call them for the glory of the empire Bode is not unreasonable he sees Cal as a potential threat to their safety And while Bode should have cared more for his girls needs and happiness Locking themselves on tannalor wouldn't be all that different to option B Because if they are running around as wanted people or if the empire finds out they are jedi like what happened with Cal in fallen order Then they are gonna have to constantly be moving and thats if they arnt caught and killed or tortured into inquisitors under the rule of a sith lord who likes cutting his apprentices limbs off as a "lesson" Tannalor is the safest option for them and Cal could easily ruin that with his blind revenge quest against the empire As a final point for his unnecessary agressiveness towards kata He is already angry and stressed out because Cal and merrin are there and hes basically probably fucked in his eyes And he is afraid of losing her or her being hurt which similar to Anakin the dark side has a habit of hurting those you love But if Cal and Merrin didnt pull up and didnt find a way to Tannalor then i think Bode would have calmed down as there is nothing to make him mad , the planet is peaceful and full of resources And if it got too bad for her you have to remember, Bode still has the compass so if she got too distressed he could take her out of tannalor for a bit and they would still be pretty safe much safer then if Cal has the compass because bode is remaining under the raider and can do pretty good without the force and his saber and they can get to safety very fast because the second they are in hyperspace they are gone and if the empire tracks them there gonna be met with a giant nebula they cant cross and no way to get through And on pain in the ass isnt worth that much of the empires time to try and find Regardless Of what people say Bode while some of his decisions had some flaws he had the right idea , its not selfish to want to bring your girl somewhere safe where shes basically untouchable and you can actually live away peacefully from the empire and di as you will because no ones there to rat jedi out to the empire its just the 2 of you and if he trusts people enough he can bring his own family or friends to tannalor with their kids So calling Bode selfish and only there for himself is literally wrong If he was selfish he would have ditched his little girl and went to tannalor himself He was not being selfish he had every reason to doubt cals plan because cal barely dented the empire and he was losing people left and right bode was there to see it too Cals plan isnt evil or wrong either But Bode isnt selfish for doing his own plan He didnt have to push his daughter but he also was trying to keep her out of the danger zone , he could have been nicer about it but also his reaction wasnt wrong because she would have kept trying to get in danger and that is incredibly risky , he should have listened to his daughter but I dont blame him for doubting cal wouldnt just get them all killed in brutal fashion or kidnapped and converted in equally as brutal of a fashion
I see your perspective, but Bode was a manipulator. He betrayed people who trusted him. Murdered Master Cordoba. In the end, he was looking out for his own interests. You can make the argument that Kata was part of the equation. However, could you look your child in the face after murdering someone? Not if you have a conscience. I am not going to say Bode was totally devoid of altruism. The ends do not justify the means, IMO.
@@MinistryofRacing oh I'm not saying what he did was right But it's grey It wasn't right but what is In a empire controlled galaxy where the entire government is after you specifically because you have space magic and anybody could rat you out and ruin you and your daughters life Tough decisions have to be made He won't be able to look her in the face but he made that sacrifice for her He's not a completely correct and innocent person But he's just another simple man making his and surviving in this tyrannically controlled galaxy
Yeah seems about right, don’t know how old he was in this game but I would assume he’s about 7-8 years older than Luke. We would need an older wiser Jedi. Ezra and Cal could be that, Rey and Finn the younger ones
deegan?? its not even spelled that way. how would you come to the conclusion that that's how it's pronounced??? they say his name a billion times in the game
The one aspect this game seriously stumbled upon is the villains. Dagan Gera is just a boring, one-note, petty crybaby obsessed over his literal death trap. And Bode was just a lazy modern Disney twist villain that was telegraphed by a mile. Even though I didn't expect him to be an Imperial spy, I was expecting him to be some kind of bounty hunter who was gonna turn on Cal any moment. And the "I did it cuz muh family" card has gotten stale.
...Except the game literally won't run on anything other than ps5 and still runs like shit on that console. If they ever fix the technical issues, you may be right. As is, it's not even worth trying out.
This is a fair point, I wish I could comment more on the performance issues but I haven’t experienced them. But you are right, if you are willing to wait or don’t care about spoilers then wait as long as you need too. Plus there’s still plenty of other great games out there to play

I agree Darth Vader is powerful but he almost lost Cere so I don’t think he’s extremely powerful he is pretty strong though
I'd rather have it that Cal fights him alone hell I don't even want bd 1 to be there
Deegan and myrium in the 3rd game confirmed
I kinda of see Bodes point. Like out of all people he would truly know how easy it is to infiltrate groups. Especially groups bulilt on hope and believe in good of people. Hopefully Cal learns his lesson and trusts less people and be more cautious
Wow good for you on the first planet my mantis disappeared and after weeks of trying anything, I had to restart the game now no problems
Deserves way more views, good video.
You have one of the best reviews for this game. I get the game came out with bugs and performance issues and I’m sorry for that, but the gameplay and story are phenomenal, and tbh just off of those two this game is still a GOTY contender for me.
Thank you man appreciate the kind words, I have to play the new Zelda game, but haven’t played breath of the wild so….. Jedi Survivor my GOTY haha
I play on PC and only had issues on the first day, after that, aside from the occasionally little bugs you would expect from a new game, everything worked fine!👍🏻
And I'm not even using a high-end machine.
I think this also represents our battle with the Darkseid in real life that's why I love star wars
Is a jedi ever truly unarmed if they have the force.
That is true but the force is not a weapon it can be used as one but it is not
Your point about Luke being the last Jedi confuses me is it definitely true that he’s really the last? And what about grogu?
I was speaking on Luke during the original trilogy, since this game is before we need to lead to one Jedi in play or they must be outta play for some reason. Grogu wasn’t discovered yet since The Mandolorian is after Return of the Jedi, so he’s still captured and getting tests ran on.
In The Last Jedi Luke tells Kylo that he’s not the last Jedi anymore, as that mantle is now Rey’s but we know there’s a Jedi movie coming out 15years after Episode 9
Finally someone who gets it
The game was rough the first playthrough after I just bought it a week ago. A few stutters here and there.
Something i do find frustrating is even in this video people say Bode did it for himself
I will admit i have watched the entire game and alot of the side content but i havent got to play it yet because i do not have a ps5
That being said
Im kind of on bodes side but also not
People will see that he pushed his daughter and all that and say hes a selfish dickhead but completely ignore how he was with her the first time we see her
Heres the thing you have to think of the circumstances here
He knows Cal is pissed and he has a nightsister with him who uses the dark side who is also pretty not happy
He is having to fight them and his daughter keeps trying to get directly into the battlefield
Breaking the bridge he could have been more gentle but he was trying to keep her from coming over and trying to stop the fight which could result in her being injured
He didnt expect cal to go through a magic vent and knock him under the bridge and he is trying to fight the 2 of them off
The bridge nearly collapsing was not his intention *thank you merrin for saving his daughter*
And that final part when he force pushes her
People are screaming abuse and i do think he could have been more gentle but
She keeps trying to run right into the danger area
If she tried to grab his arm and cal got free
Then she is literally right in-between them so any attacks either to defend or offend could hit her
I know he could have been nicer but i think i would rather be mean to my child rather then risk them getting chopped in half by a laser sword or hit by a stray energy bolt
Even at the end he apologizes to her
And he asks Cal "can you protect my little girl?" He probably will in the next game but think about this from bodes perspective everyone thinks he is selfish but right now
Cal is battle hungry , he keeps engaging the empire and planned on turning tanallor into a rebel base
This is an issue even if bode goes along with it do you wanna know why?
Cal will be the one using the compass i guarantee meaning he is leaving tanalorr
Meaning kata and possibly bode if he dosent go are stuck there
If cal storms a military base and is killed and they get the compass then not only is bode and kata stuck there now
But now the empire will figure out what it is and storm tannalor and want it as a their own secret base and will want to kill the "Terrorist Insurgents" there as they would call them for the glory of the empire
Bode is not unreasonable he sees Cal as a potential threat to their safety
And while Bode should have cared more for his girls needs and happiness
Locking themselves on tannalor wouldn't be all that different to option B
Because if they are running around as wanted people or if the empire finds out they are jedi like what happened with Cal in fallen order
Then they are gonna have to constantly be moving and thats if they arnt caught and killed or tortured into inquisitors under the rule of a sith lord who likes cutting his apprentices limbs off as a "lesson"
Tannalor is the safest option for them and Cal could easily ruin that with his blind revenge quest against the empire
As a final point for his unnecessary agressiveness towards kata
He is already angry and stressed out because Cal and merrin are there and hes basically probably fucked in his eyes
And he is afraid of losing her or her being hurt which similar to Anakin the dark side has a habit of hurting those you love
But if Cal and Merrin didnt pull up and didnt find a way to Tannalor then i think Bode would have calmed down as there is nothing to make him mad , the planet is peaceful and full of resources
And if it got too bad for her you have to remember, Bode still has the compass so if she got too distressed he could take her out of tannalor for a bit and they would still be pretty safe much safer then if Cal has the compass because bode is remaining under the raider and can do pretty good without the force and his saber and they can get to safety very fast because the second they are in hyperspace they are gone and if the empire tracks them there gonna be met with a giant nebula they cant cross and no way to get through
And on pain in the ass isnt worth that much of the empires time to try and find
Regardless Of what people say
Bode while some of his decisions had some flaws he had the right idea , its not selfish to want to bring your girl somewhere safe where shes basically untouchable and you can actually live away peacefully from the empire and di as you will because no ones there to rat jedi out to the empire its just the 2 of you and if he trusts people enough he can bring his own family or friends to tannalor with their kids
So calling Bode selfish and only there for himself is literally wrong
If he was selfish he would have ditched his little girl and went to tannalor himself
He was not being selfish he had every reason to doubt cals plan because cal barely dented the empire and he was losing people left and right bode was there to see it too
Cals plan isnt evil or wrong either
But Bode isnt selfish for doing his own plan
He didnt have to push his daughter but he also was trying to keep her out of the danger zone , he could have been nicer about it but also his reaction wasnt wrong because she would have kept trying to get in danger and that is incredibly risky , he should have listened to his daughter but I dont blame him for doubting cal wouldnt just get them all killed in brutal fashion or kidnapped and converted in equally as brutal of a fashion
This is honestly what makes bode such a solid character in this point of time. While we may view him differently I see what you are saying.
@@MinistryofRacing oh I'm not saying what he did was right
But it's grey
It wasn't right but what is
In a empire controlled galaxy where the entire government is after you specifically because you have space magic and anybody could rat you out and ruin you and your daughters life
Tough decisions have to be made
He won't be able to look her in the face but he made that sacrifice for her
He's not a completely correct and innocent person
But he's just another simple man making his and surviving in this tyrannically controlled galaxy
Mine crashed a few times. Worst was the cutscene after vader. Had to beT him 3 times on grandmaster
Oh my god, I’m doing a clean play through on grandmaster now… and can’t imagine how that fight feels lmao
Didn’t luke rebuild the Jedi archives?
no way this has this little views
It's a matter of time he gets a hit and from then only way up
Haha thank you man appreciate the love here. Over time it will grow but it doesn’t sway my love for the process
If Cal is in the Rey Movie, He would be about 70?
Yeah seems about right, don’t know how old he was in this game but I would assume he’s about 7-8 years older than Luke.
We would need an older wiser Jedi. Ezra and Cal could be that, Rey and Finn the younger ones
Cal is 22/23 in Survivor, he was 12/13 during Order 66
tanaborr?? did you even play the game?
deegan?? its not even spelled that way. how would you come to the conclusion that that's how it's pronounced??? they say his name a billion times in the game
Perfect??? 😂😂😂😂Ridiculous
I think it is Merrin who will fall to the dark side.
Do you pronounce names wrong on purpose? 🤣
I didn't have any issues either on the Xbox.
Bro if you loved the game so much why are you mispronouncing so many names lol.
...Except the game literally won't run on anything other than ps5 and still runs like shit on that console.
