Jags - Doug Pederson as HCA and Balke as the GM should be fired.
Boys - Jerry needs to fire himself as GM. O-line needs to be rebuilt. D-line needs help.
Panthers - Is Bryce Young a franchise QB?
Rams - how long can QB Matt Stafford continue playing?

Throw in the Dolphins too. They have a lot of aging players and Tua, even if he comes back, his career is over. His medical and post season history limits how far the Dolphins can go.

Agreed, this is a team that should be (finally) winning some playoffs and making a superbowl run. Instead they spend their offseason losing everyone decent, not fixing their defense, not fixing their o-line and doubling down on a qb with no future. They will be lucky to win 5-7 games this year and are in trouble for years. Miami fans deserve better.

Poles ripping the Bears down to the studs and rebuilding scratch was a great for breaking the cycle of trying to patch things in free agency with old players. The biggest problem with the Bears is they keep drafting top QBs, but have no line to protect them or give them a solid rushing game to take pressure off the QB. They draft guys like Fields or Caleb and instead of going after o-line in with the following picks or in free agency, they go after guys like Odunze or Keenan Allen. Is it the Raiders coaching or is it Gardner Mishew and Aiden O'Connell? Bc we've seen them play far better with under Shane Steichen and Josh McDaniels (of all people). This is the year of the reemergent QBs on their 2nd or 3rd teams. And I think that when you're in those kind of situations, you need an offensive minded HC. And a really good OC. The Raiders don't have that. Even if they were to get the top QB draft prospect, would anyone trust AP to develop him? I'm not hating. But I think he should be HC of a team that has a smashmouth defense and a solid run game. The problem with the Raiders is they let Josh Jacobs walk for nothing and did little to replace him. The teams needs to rebuild from the top to the bottom starting with HC & GM.

I read a TH-camr asking if any team would trade for Watson and his contract IF Cleveland included at least one first round pick?
If the Browns offered Watson, Miles Garrett and a first round pick this season at the trade deadline to your favorite team, would you accept knowing you'd have to pay around 1/4 of your teams salary to a horrible quarterback?
What would it take for you to say you'll take him?

  • @cruxofthesubject1402
    @cruxofthesubject1402 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

You're mostly right on the saints. What really happened this year in addition to the McCoy injury was the injury to Taysom Hill. Klint Kubiak seemed to design almost the entire playbook around being able to misdirect the defense with Hill on the field because you never knew how to account for him. But McCoy certainly matters just as much, as he's one of the best centers in the league and you don't replace a guy like that easily.
I don't think our cap space is as big of an issue as people like to say. It's certainly not ideal, but the players we're keeping are not exactly holding the team back, not even Carr. The only hefty contract that we need to offload is Cam Jordan and maybe Lattimore, but Jordan seems likely to retire either this season or the next.
I'm really hopeful that Rattler can be that Russ in r3 or Dak in r4 type of player. We'll see how he does.

My question is, do you believe in a true rebuild, teams should hold off from using their cap space and instead just work through the draft for the first 2-3 years? Build the core, build the locker room, build the team values, then go all out and spend the cap on good veterans? Or do you try and get good veterans ASAP to try and speed up the rebuild?

Considered Giants (my team) and Raiders as rebuilding already. Giants O-line should have been rebuilt last yr but poor picks and if they continue to struggle, that will sadly doom Daball and Co. more than resigning Jones. AP is trying to salvage the mess left by Josh the Destroyer. QB and RB were their biggest need entering the season add WR1? but everywhere else seems very solid. I love your vids brother, keep em coming!👍

If you consider a "rebuild" a change at the QB position, then I agree. I don't really see the Giants as a full "tear it down" rebuild team, but definitely some work needs to be done on this house
But I truly think the Giants are a QB away from really raising their ceiling. Jones has been pretty good this year, but I would be shocked if a 1st or 2nd round QB isn't in the cards next year. Even if you want to keep Jones, having him as the starter while a QB is prepped on the bench could work wonders.
I hope 2025 is that big step forward with a new QB, some retooled OL and secondary pieces, and Daboll leading the charge of a flexible and fast offense. I hope

Raiders I believe are in the midst of their rebuild and pretty much know it. They're spending time using transition QBs and played it honestly smart regarding the QB position this year. Taking your metaphor of they're playing with an Impala in a conference topped by Ferraris... What Ferraris were they going to be able to get? You trade up to try and get Williams or Daniels? Those teams were putting themselves into a position of "we're getting a QB and if you want them you're going to have to give up a fortune to do so" which we already know doesn't work with what happened to the Panthers. Panthers suck because they traded up to get their guy. CJ Stroud would have been better, but maybe 1 win better with that roster with their losses as of right now tbqh. Texans rebuild went well because they got a lot when they traded away Watson, which they used to help build the team they have now. Every team listed in this video has some trade value players and need to start there. Trade away a couple guys, get more draft picks, build your team and ensure you have the coaching staff to succeed BEFORE you put it all on the line with a QB.
The Raiders options at QB were this: At pick 13, 5 QBs were off the board. The next best option was a massive reach, they didn't reach and grabbed a target for their QB of the future. You know who had an ever reliable TE on his team when he entered the league? Patrick Mahomes. Free Agency included Kirk Cousins and a bunch of backups. The QB position was either trade up or bust, and choosing bust was the right option as trading up to get your QB of the future... is not something you do while your team still sucks. Two of the only cases of teams trading up to get their guy that has worked were Chiefs going up (as a playoff team) to get who they thought was being underrated (and they were right) and the Ravens trading up to get an underrated speedster at the end of the first round (which was obviously a cheap trade). Naturally we're never going to see another Lamar Jackson go 30th overall, but two playoff teams got their QB of the future and put themselves into "win now" mode, saw winning as a success although Ravens haven't gotten to the big game with Lamar, though they look like one lucky year where they can beat the Chiefs in playoffs could get them there.
Meanwhile... Panthers wish they could have DJ Moore back and would have settled with Anthony Richardson maybe at 9, 49ers wish they said "F them picks" much sooner and didn't get the bust in Trey Lance, Jets wish that they killed Josh Allen's career instead of killing Sam Darnold's career (until this year with the Vikings), etc. Or we could bring up the coaching situation. Raiders have been fumbling hardcore when it came to hiring head coaches and the drafting recently was outright horrible. The Gruden era put them incredibly far back, and them not keeping Bisaccia was a mistake. Instead going to Josh McDaniels who screwed them up further, and now they're living with a first year head coach that needs more time before we can truly see what he's capable of. I mean after all, we've seen rookies trying to develop in some bad systems either coaching or GM wise before and it sucked. T-Law, Young right now, Kyler Murray (Kliff clearly a better OC than he was a HC with Daniels).
tl;dr: Raiders aren't ready to get their QB of the future, I feel they made the right decision and they ARE rebuilding. They're just doing it closer to a Shanahan system where you build the team before the QB.

On the topic of Drake Maye getting his first start against Houston's fierce defense, it really has that "Justin Fields' first career start against the Browns' fierce defense" vibe. Like his coaches can't see that it's a terrible way to get a rookie QB introduced to the league and may end up doing more damage than good in the long run.

He thinks he’s a hotshot, will not run the ball at all just cause he’s selfish, completely lost the team and its faith, has zero drive, I mean his stats aren’t that bad for a quarterback that’s as absolutely horrible as he is. It just shows how much of a sucky guy he is when he put up nearly 5000 yards with Houston and still got traded away.

I think the Rams should be on this list, especially if we lose next week. Stafford only has a year or two left, Kupp is injury prone and Puka could’ve been a fluke for all we know. Plus even though we’re injured to hell we suck even when healthy. Also the other three NFCW teams are all in their competitive prime. I think we may have to consider going full tank and just laying low for the next 4-5 years and start our next SB window in the late 2020s to early 2030s

I haven’t forgotten he spent 2 first rounders on Marcus Davenport, and the Penning pick is still hurting us. We haven’t had a real chance to win the SB since the 2018 no-call, yet our cap situation is worse than ever and we rarely have any draft capital. I would gladly watch 2-3 losing seasons if that meant we had least had some sort of hope. The Carr-Allen era has just been a giant waste of time and resources.
