  • This video provides an overview the element Tungsten. Its atomic structure is presented and its two major ores, scheelite and wolframite are described. The fluorescent properties of scheelite are shown. The high density of tungsten is demonstrated. Several uses of tungsten and its alloys as well as tungsten carbide are described.

    Excellent.
Bang on topic without distracting music and a nice review of the history of the subject followed by its uses.

Thanks for this video! I have a oral presentation and I chose this element. Super informative and fun to watch as an adhd individual. Appreciate you ❤

I found your video very informative and relaxing, a great combo. One bit of feedback I have is to say that its ability to scratch glass is a poor example to illustrate hardness. Window glass has only a 5.5 Mohs hardness, and reinforcing the popular notion that it's a good basis to measure hardness serves as a disservice. People often learn the hard way that glass is, in fact, quite easy to scratch. Many car windows are harmed by scouring pads in the process!

Thanks for sharing the valuable information about glass. I didn’t know it had that low a Mohs hardness.

what material would be a better subject for demonstration of tungsten‘s hardness?
