@@yelseh Saenchai moved backwards in almost ALL of his fights in Thailand. Moving backwards = losing is an insufficient way to look at Muay Thai.
How do fighters recover from such striking matches like this? Is it easier if they (I’m assuming) don’t cut water like in the west? I’m just wondering what the behind the scenes is here?

He fights seriously against other Thai muays , especially with Yongsak being so dangerous on the front foot. Saenchai had no time to mess with this guy.
Thai muays also train and condition on another level compared to foreigners.
When his opponent are controlled the games, he will start the cheap tactits, that was push down, is not a muaythai tactis but wrestling tactics

Ага ,если удары рук считать ,но увы в тайском боксе судьи по иному считают. Работа ногами ,клинч,колени , скрутки и прочее,на удары рук могут и не обращать внимание, конечно если соперник в нокаут не уйдет.

Lol who told you that lie? He stopped fighting in Thailand cuz the stupid gamblers have an unprecedented grip on the judges. The gamblers put their money on the stronger fighter rather than the better one cuz they don’t understand the Muay Thai scoring system. The judges have to follow the gamblers otherwise they will riot or worse, have the judges killed. Muay Thai is no stranger to the mafia in the Thailand.

Saenchai is the more technical and better fighter..but I think Kongsak was more the aggressor and had more will to win the fight..so I give it to Konsak. If Saenchai put more effort in his fight..he would win easily. I prefer Konsak even though Saenchai is better..just because he looks more to k.o a opponent then make it a exhibition.

Saenchai was already past his prime by like 2013 lol. The peak of his career started all the way back in the late 1990s and it must have started to level out beyond 2010. And yet he’s still not retired…
Because Konsak is a Khmer Sorin Muaythai, most famous Muaythai are from Khmer Sorin. So, Saenchai has to be careful, cannot joke around.

Kongsak won. You could feel the frustration of Saenchai during the fight. His style doesn't seem to work well with tall experienced fighters with strong fundamentals and long reach ( if they know how to use it). Saenchai is best when guys come rushing in or when they get trapped in the mind games he creates. Kongsak had none of it.
That is expirience..
I thought this was a very competitive fight between these two Muay Thai fighters. I would love to see a rematch because he fought toe to toe against Saenchai & didn't back up like other fighters. I thought the outcome would be a draw or a victory for the challenger. But overall, a great fight. Saenchai will have a tougher time fighting Buakaw. Buakaw's 💯 serious in the ring.

I cant stand Saenchai. He is good but he is not superhuman like everyone thinks. Against the top Thai's Saenchai was good but not the greatest. Then he goes and fights all the international scrubs and dances like a goof.
