Well as rumors go (lots, from different sources) Stana katic and Nathan Fillion sorta kinda hatted each other (which in all honesty is a testament to how great they are as actors, considering the Castle and Becket relationship on screen never suffered from the actors real feeling for one another) and that was making renewing their contracts harder each season. Stana in particular kept asking for absurd raises in order to "put up with" Nathan. The writers wanted to give themselves an out to write Becket off the show in the event Stana didn't renew - cause she almost didn't - she would still exist but in D.C. and basically never show up. For that reason the whole D.C job bull came into being (and since she did renew they threw this story line out the window super fast on season 6).
@@cspresimir It was quite a bit more than one rumor and the proof is in the pudding, you get 1 billion Firefly reunions and panels and whatnot and 0 mentions of anything Castle. Stana and Nathan were barely even seen together in press events and other stuff, they never speak anything about each other and they aren't even asked questions by interviewers on the matter or about what they think of one another (which indicates that they veto them). It is also know to all how difficult it was to renew with Stana and she was very open and very vocal about wanting to leave the series after seasons 5,6,7 and ultimately 8 when she finally did do it albeit she never revealed why she wanted to leave). That last fact always prompted the writing team to do stuff were they could keep going without Becket - the DC job, which you yourself noticed comes out of nowhere, Castle going away on a secret solo adventure instead of marrying Becket, which comes out even more out of nowhere and we got to emphasize the solo part, or even sorta tie every loose end and make it so the series could end well in the case of season 7 - the last episode of that season is 100% meant to be a series finale, even so they also let themselves an out to write Becket off with the whole run for senate thing. And on season 8 they were going to kill Becket and the show would go on with just Castle, but ABC pulled the plug so we got that super rushed 30 secs ending where they live happily ever after that was shot after everything else just so the series didn't end with a super sad event that wouldn't fit the spirit of the show at all. It is not always that actors gel well off set, its remarkable they went 8 seasons working well together even tough they hated each other.
Yes, and now in season seven, she belives in him no mather what. That is true love, and that relationship story is the only thing real in this whole show it is not candy love, happily ever after. Beckett - Castle relationship can be found in any real solid relationship. It reached the point where they had almost no scenes together anymore and Katic left the series, which was part of the reason it got cancelled. Most stories I've seen blame Fillion, but as far as I know, neither of them has ever made a statement about it.

i uploaded a video a few hours ago with the promotional photos for the season finale " Watershed". Well there isn't much spoilers, the only thing is that Beckett will have to make a decision related to her, to Castle, and to her career. IMO, i love the idea of the swings... They are always present inthe big decisions. So... i think we'll have to wait and see. I wish he propose her there, but i guess that won't happen anytime soon :(

The shows creator Andrew Marlow said he wouldn't break them up. Plus if she takes the job in D.C. and Castle follows her out there that would mean Espo, Ryan, Lanie and Gates wouldn't be in show anymore. I'm thinking that the conversation will be serious and one of them will get upset. Castle would then be on his way to Kate's place to patch things up when something bad happens to him. I don't think they will have a cliffhanger of them breaking up, but I think Castle's life will be in danger.
this show should really be called Beckett, Castle is the constant, Beckett is the variable. She has the growth arc, her mother's murder drives the seasons, she opens up to Castle, she is always changing. I am still a big fan of Nathan Fillion but the show is about Beckett more than Castle.
Without castle nothing happens to beckett, therfore its about castle. Whatever castle does causes an affect on beckett, so it's named after the reason and cause of change not the thing that's changing.
I have to say that your wrong, they wouldn't recast the show, build new sets and have it take place somewhere else. I know how TV shows work. Also, she loves Castle, and her team has become her family, she obviously cares about them. The separation was Beckett's idea. As for Castle, he definitely kept thinking that she's the one, by trying to make Beckett change her mind, repeatedly trying to win her back, etc., and finally succeeding.
Anybody else notice the food (lettuce? spinach?) in Beckett's teeth in one of the "best kiss" kissing scenes (41:53)? I thought maybe dental work, but it's located between the teeth and if it was something they knew about, they'd fix it before filming.
If Beckett's father was outside the building when She & Castle came out after Castle defused the bomb that Kate was standing on,he'd be very proud of him for his courage standing by Kate who had to stand still so that the bomb beneath her wouldn't go off before Castle found a a way to defuse it.

I have a genuine question. Why did kate ever have doubts about castle's fidelity? Like that played a huge role in her not wanting to take the risk and date him but when has he ever cheated or not been serious about someone he was dating for that to be such a huge concern for her?

What courage Castle had to save Beckett from being killed by the bomb underneath her. Lucky he had help to find the password to deactivate the bomb.
One of the best episodes in the series with so many memorable flashbacks of the two's relationship. Suspenseful and touching too.
