Thank you so much for this practical and informative video. I have basically the exact same situation going on with one goat who has the four teats it developed suddenly and quickly and this is the first time it’s happened although this is her second time kidding. I am going to try all these things that you have done. Thank you.

Thank you for using good animal husbandry by taking poor genetics out of circulation and doing the responsible thing, even if city folk don’t like it. Unfortunately, the further people get away from the farm, the further they get from the truth of animal ownership. When people get fanciful ideas about farming, animals suffer more from poor genetics and being forced to be “saved” from debilitating injuries that a responsible farmer wouldn’t allow an animal to suffer.
You’re right, it’s a tough decision. Nonetheless, it’s a decision that all homesteaders and farmers have to make for the benefit of not only the animals but for generations of animals.
Hi I have a goat who just lost her baby to a dog that came in over night and dug a hole into the goat pen, the mother is stressed out trying to find baby and im worried about mastitis forming,? any advice would be great. and also i have another baby who has big glands on each side of throat with a line going from both across her throat, she is feeding ok but i also worried about her, any advice?
So, we didn't have goats. Some day a guy offered us a pregnant goat. And we do think she has Mastitis, and she just gave birth. We tried to milk it from the the hurt one, but nothing comes out. I believe we will try the oil who just showed us, and will try to search for any treatment we can give her while she's feeding her babies. Never happened to me lol. Kinda wondering what can I do now. Will try to give the oil to relieve her pain, while we investigate about treatments we can give her. We got some tips that consisted in, milking everything out from the hurt one, and then insert a medicine. But we barely can milk her, nothing leaves, just a tiny bit. Maybe if we insist everyday a bit, maybe we can do it ? Do you have any tips?
@@saulgonzalez8117 Hello. I've treaten the swollen by passing on it some hot water cloths and then some pasta I've made with olive oil and smashed garlic, until it makes kind of a paste. It worked, and it is not swollen anymore. Hope it works with you :)
@@saulgonzalez8117 No worries! It worked for me, hope it works for you. Try do it for a week. Put the cloth with hot water for about 5 minutes and then pass the pasta. I did it once a day for 1 week.

The farm we purchased her from was a Kiko farm. Supposedly she was purebred, either way she is doing good now and nursing both kids great!
