Which Drill Is Better? K-Drill Ice Auger with Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ridgid, Ryobi and Makita Drills
I just got both milwaukee 2804, and the 8.5" kdrill. Haven't got to use it yet. This video was very helpful. Thanks
I was just notified by DeWalt that K-Drill augers cannot be used with ANY DeWalt DRILLS. If you are caught by DeWalt, your warranty will be immediately void.
Even though K-Drill made videos of using DeWalt drills with their auger, they are misleading. DeWalt drills are not made to be used this way.
My own warranty was voided because of this.
My new Milwaukee 2903 has 1400 in lbs of torque (200 more then the previous 2803) and runs at 2100 RPM. It's a monster that requires a tight hold and strong wrists. It will throw you down if the auger binds. It also has instant stop, so letting go of the trigger will immediately fix the problem, assuming you can let go of the trigger while flailing to find a way not to fall.
I'm pretty sure it has auto stop so you won't break your wrist
@@markk3948 Auto stop is when it grabs and twists out of my hand. This drill has more then enough torque to tear an 8" auger through several feet of ice in very little time.
@jerrym2321 oh I know I have the 2904
You said your pistol drill auger have very sharp blades. Food for thought they all have very sharp blades bro???
I had a Dewalt, hammer drill 1/2, at least 20v. and it took a crap. of course not under warranty, only used for 2 seasons of ice fishing
I can make swiss cheese out of the ice with my 40 volt Strike Master with a 8-in auger bit. You'd be swapping batteries left and right and drills trying to do the same with your pistol drill set up. Guaranteed...
Battery size will be more of a factor. It appears that you are using 4+ amp hour batteries on everything except the ridgid (2ah?). Might be the reason for the disappointment. Thanks for the vid. Looks like they all are very capable.

@@andrewkraskey238 Crazy story, man. Guess what? My buddy ignored the warning and got caught red handed by Dewalt using the K-Drill and was immediately thrown in jail. You don't want to mess with DeWalt or it's warranty. I set up a GoFundMe page if you want help out

Yeah a 2Ah battery on the rigid compared to the others with 4Ah. Come on!!! Thats not a even comparison.
Where I am your not drilling 4’ ofnice with any of those 4Ah batteries.
Hmmm, Milwaukee schill??
You do know that dewalt is 18 volt right? it's only marketed as 20volt max in the US, outside the US they have use nominal voltage so it's listed as 18 like the rest.
If you have a multi-meter, put it on DC and measure those batteries at full charge and you'll see they are all the same voltage.

k drill is a drill killer tbh pistol bot or strike master lord flite
Maybe it’s just me but using a drill versus an actual ice auger drill is just uncomfortable for me.
Get a regular size 40 volt electric auger. I assure you you'll be more than happy.
I've had my strike Master for over 5 years now it has performed flawlessly and a lot lighter than the gas powered easier to use you don't have to worry about the gas and you don't have to worry about holding on to a tiny little drill.

stupidness thing i have read on the internet.
Isn't it fun to make stuff up and pretend it's true ??
Sad thing is, I have it in writing from DeWalt. Go ahead, call me a liar again. Blow me.@@jimdaniels2333
If you used a 6.0ho on that milwaukee you would be even more impressed
If you put a 5 or a 6 on the Makita it would be a lot stronger

@@andrewkraskey238cause dewalts are mostly junk
4 or a 5. The 6 is garbage and has less output than the other two.
k drill is weak buddy. get a clam drill plate adapter and a proper auger blade.. Ill put a $40 lazer mora on a clam plate and blow through 3 holes before you are done fighting one with that busted kdrill rotator cuff killer.
Maybe get a little stronger buddy and those weak little rotator cuffs won’t get so bruised, also with an Eskimo pistol bit I’ll drill circles around you bud
Your not getting full torque on high
All you guys using these very expensive drills got another thing coming. Might be able to drill your holes, but give it the sniff test after you just punched 5 in a row. You smell the sweet smell of cooking, overloaded, electrical components heating up your tiny electric motor. Now she got a tiny little 4 in pistol bit it will probably last. But you're kidding yourself if you think you're going to turn a 6, 8 or 10 in. Auger bit for anytime at all without having your underpowered drill last for any period of time at all. 🤷
