  • Just a quick oil and air filter change on a Kia Venga 1.4 Diesel. Mostly done by my 10 Year old son Thomas. Very easy to do and cheap. the air filter took no more than 2 minutes to change and requires no tools. the oil filter is in a plastic housing which is a 27mm socket on a long extension. and the drain plug is 17mm socket.

      Glad to have helped. Hopefully you haven't had the same problems we have had? fuel tank rusted through, rear brakes bind and get very hot, and electric power steering failed 4 times.

    after u unscrew the bottom oil pan bolt then u should remove the oil cap, it let more air in and drain the almost whole filling..

    Why not torque the drain plug properly?

    Is it a good idea to use the engine torque strut mount as a jacking point (as visible at 1:05 and 1:35)? Can the engine and engine mounts take the weight of the rest of the car? Someone with experience, please chime in.

    Thanks for the video, I have a 2011 1.4 venga 3 diesel with 117,000 miles on the clock. I am wondering whether to do an oil change before driving back from portugal to the UK (1600 miles). The Car was serviced and had oil and filter changed in November last year before I drove down here (4 days of 400 miles per day) so overall it's done about 2200 miles since oil was last changed. Does the diesel filter need changing and what difference does that make to the running of the car.

      Its up to you, i wouldn't bother, but then again if it offers you peace of mind then it might be worth doing it. I have never done the diesel filter and probably wont have to as i don't believe the car will last another year. the rust is coming through on the sills.

      Just so you know, there seems to be a nasty water/dirt tray at the end of the sill, its basically open to the rear wheel. might be worth checking. you may find out only when it has rotted from inside out....

    Thanks, well done Thomas. Very informative video. What did you do with the old oil?

    • @mrfid72
      @mrfid72  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      take it to the household recycle center and they recycle oil.

      @@mrfid72 Ok, will do. Do you know how to replace a rear number plate bulb on these cars? I removed the cover from inside the tailgate and I can see the connector, but I'm damned if I can remove it. Best regards.
