The turnaround driveway section would be great for perennials!

That's a great idea. We thought of maybe building a greenhouse there, kind of Roots and Refuge style, but it's not a lot of space for that and more garden.

Wowsers! Lots of great projects imo. It's awesome to see others who have high hopes and a LOOOONG list of stuff to improve or change through the year. Even the "little stuff" adds up and contributes to that vision - Looking forward to seeing the progress!

Thank you for watching! We definitely have a lot to do, but we will take it one project at a time.

Your homestead is going to be amazing (but it already is😊). I can’t wait to watch your videos throughout 2025 to see the progress!!

Very cool to hear your thoughts and ideas. I certainly hope you do include some woodworking videos if you can, I love woodworking and I'm sure others would also love to see how you use it around the farm as well as for a business. The circular area, I agree with Heather, it would be great for perennials for a tea/herb/flower garden. Happy New Year Jay and Misty!

Happy New Year Misty! I hope you have a great day. We love the perennials in the circular area. We talked about it last night. Just have to decide if we are going raised bed or in ground.

It's good to have goals, but keep in mind that Rome wasn't built in a day. Take things step by step until you accomplish each goal. It'll be easier on your wallet and your back and overall health. Looking forward to the progress and see what your channel brings to the TH-cam Table.

Thanks, Tater! We are definitely on a budget for what we can get done, not to mention the time constraints.

You might want to think about time, energy, steps in a day and bring main areas closer together. The coolest set up I've ever seen had a barn close to the house with a breezeway connecting them, dry firewood stacked in the breezeway, easy to grab on your way into the house. Big barn for all stock at night. Pretty solid wood corral around the barn but most of the corral was actually gates. Let stock out of barn in the morning into corral, milk and what have you, then you open a gate where you want them to go for the day; gardens, orchards, pastures, were pie shaped wedges off the corral. Also had like a slop trough for the hogs in the corral as well as a hay feeder. The driveway into the barnyard doubled as a lane for the cows; they had more pastures along it going out to the main road so they could drive cows up it to different pastures and crop fields if they wanted to. Took one guy, with a milk machine like 20 min to milk the cow and take care of all the animals; cows, pigs, chickens & other poultry, sheep. I'm kind of strung out because of the lay of my land and how things have come about, if I could I would certainly have main animal housing together, to make it faster and easier, especially in bad weather.

That sounds really cool for a layout, I have heard/seen some similar ideas of having lots of gates off the barn to go into different areas.

That layout would be great. The only thing we won't be able to do is a covered walkway. The path out to the barn goes under the main electrical wires from the pole to our house. We can't build anything under that, at least that is permanent. I am definitely going to do a more defined walkway TO the barn though. Luckily it's not really to much of a walk. The rest of the layout is a lot like the pie idea though, at least for where we are planning for the rest of the goat grazing and the chickens.
