- Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will step down from office a month from now, in what has been a widely anticipated leadership succession. Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the leader of the fourth-generation political team, will take over. He will be sworn in at 8pm on May 15 at the Istana. Associate Prof Eugene Tan from the School of Law at SMU shared more about the ruling People's Action Party leadership handover and the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle.

I don't understand why the ppl cannot vote for their PM. The fact that the party decides on who will be our PM is something I don't think is what democracy is about...anyways I won't be voting for any pap nor opposition party this coming ge...it does not mean I don't love my country at all.
