WayV is actually the final boss! You should check out on Love Talk too. It’s a full english song with beautiful vocals and super seductive😂
That is why WayV has more fanboys than fangirls compared to the other units. Their music style suits men better i guess. Glad that many people are enjoying their work 💚
WayV hit different. Music choice is always on point. It's more Hip-Hop based with a splash of R&B. The music choices Label V makes is what makes them stand out, not just the Mandarin. They have their sound. Can't wait to see the Love Talk reaction.
You have to do Love Talk, Bad Alive, Moonwalk, Action Figure, Turn Back Time and Kick Back next!!! WayV’s music slaps!! And they do not disappoint!!
Although WayV's "Regular" uses the same title and beat -- and even a few of the same words and lines -- as NCT-127's Korean and English versions of the song, they aren't really the same song. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for all 3 versions, you will see that the songs are talking about different things. WayV's version sounds different, not only because it's different members and a different language, but it has a different message as well. And that is why the choreography is also different in the other versions.
Fun fact: WinWin is the only member who is in all 3 versions of "Regular" because he is a member of both NCT-127 and WayV. (127's "Regular" is the last time we see WinWin as a member of 127 because since WayV's debut he hasn't been a part of any 127 activities.)
Ten is also an original member of NCT-U -- he debuted as the very first group of NCT members in "The 7th Sense" -- and he now is a member of WayV.
The tall dude is Lucas and he is over 6 foot tall. You saw him in NCT-U's "Boss," "Yestoday" and "Make a Wish" MVs, among others.
I don't think that is the same theater as "Baby Don't Stop." The theater in "Baby Don't Stop" was in Ukraine and it was filmed in late 2017/early 2018. WayV didn't debut until the beginning of 2019, so I'm pretty sure WayV's theater is a different theater. However, I wouldn't put it past SM to give those MVs similar looks in order to create a connection between the MVs as a way to connect them as part of NCT's and SM's Universe storylines because Ten is in both MVs.
If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version of "Regular" you will discover that the lyrics for the English version is almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why 127's album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version.
However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience.
The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world.
You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D
Another reason why WayV's "Regular" MV is so different from the Korean and English version is because at that time they couldn't have anything that might connect them to NCT or make it look like they were working with a Korean company if they want to promote in China. Because of the political issues between Korea and China, they had to appear as if they were a Chinese group and were separate from anything to do with SM in order for the Chinese government to allow them to appear on Chinese programs, etc. and to promote themselves and their album in the country.
WayV is my favorite unit. They're amazing and they also known as NTC's sexy unit.
Every nct sub unit have their own colors thats why its so refreshing to watch them even if people says there are too many members thats the same reason to why people should stan this group coz too many talent will raise the roof
I do not often write comments on these type of reaction videos, because either way someone already said everything already that is important, or someone gets in the wrong way.
But I was marathoning your reaction to Nct as a whole and knew that Way V was coming soon.
I like Wayv especially because they a show a bit of a mature side to the concept. Of course many of us are here for the fanservice and someone who talks about only liking them for vocals is truly an admiration.
I personally find Ten currently on of the best dancers in the industry. Of course we have people like Teamin(Shinee), Kai(EXO) and jimin (BTS) that are always talked about, but Ten brings something to the table that no one else does. Of course they are many other really good and amazing dancers in the world of Kpop, but everyone has their own taste of it.
Like you also said the mandarin sounds often especially melodic to me if you know what I mean. I find Korean of course good too, because why would we listen to it else? But mandarin is really something else in songs like this.
They're a few things currently going on with the band, but I won't talk about it, because nothing is really officially stated. You just need to know that these amazing people you watched on your live streams are for me one of the most interesting bands since I got in to kpop back in 2014. They brought for me especially something back that I missed.

WayV has relatively less music compared to other units but I have to rec their entire 'Awaken The World' album- it's one of the best and most well-rounded albums to come out of the NCT umbrella and the members still cite the B-Sides on it when asked what their favourite song they've ever done is.
Take off is really excellent and Regular is fit with WayV so much. Can't wait for Moonwalk, one of my top 3 favorite WayV song.❤💚
For me WayV got the most catchy beats of all NCT units. Dream got the most fresh and 127 got the most NEO (experimental) lol.

Technically WayV debuted in January 2019 with the Mandarin version of "Regular," which was also NCT-127's song. But "Take Off" which came out in April 2019 is considered their official debut song because it was their first release that was all theirs.
Currently, there are 7 members in WayV. Ten and Lucas are also members of NCT-U and SuperM; Winwin is also a member of NCT-U and NCT-127; Kun -- the leader of WayV -- originally debuted as part of NCT-2018; and Yanyang, Xiaojun and Hendrey debuted specifically as members of WayV at the beginning of 2019 when WayV was formed.
Because WayV -- which stands for We Are Your Vision in English -- is part of NCT, NCT's whole dream concept is also part of WayV's storyline and concept. As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams. Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's storyline also connects to EXO's and SuperM's storyline. You just have to come to accept that everything you see from SM will be connected to SM's Culture Universe, and it's all part of a giant drama or movie -- it's just another chapter in the story.
Since the creation of SuperM, where they are now taking members from each of SM's most popular groups and creating an Avengers supergroup, I think that was SM's first indication that from now on we need to pay attention, because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released their debut "Jopping" MV, WayV came out with "Moonwalk" and I think "Moonwalk" is pretty much a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" and "Kick Back" are also part of that story. With NCT's dream concept, they could very easily connect to EXO's other world and other dimension theories.
One thing that I find interesting about WayV's "Take Off" MV, is that if you watch "Take Off" with an eye for looking for connections and theories, an argument could be made that the storyline in "Take Off" may have been designed to connect WayV -- and more specifically, Ten and Lucas -- to "SuperM's storyline. "Take Off" came out even before we knew that SM was even considering creating SuperM. But with all that I know about how SM spends years working on creating stories and connecting storylines between MVs and between its groups, it wouldn't surprise me if SM may have been planning ways to draw connections between WayV and SuperM even when the concept for "Take Off" was created. If you notice, there are several "superhero-like" elements in the "Take Off" MV that are similar to SuperM's and EXO's storyline and they could potentially be connected.
Not only, because "Take Off" was WayV's debut song, do the lyrics talk about being ready to take off, as in they are ready to be launched onto the scene and become superstars. But I think it is also supposed to be interpreted like they are ready to launch into orbit and join in the fight to help EXO battle the Red Force.
For instance, we see Xiaojun suspended in the air with wings a lot like Lucas in WayV's "Turn Back Time" MV and SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV. And we also see a lot of WayV's storyline has an otherworldly, futuristic and digital theme which could now be connected to aespa's storyline. aespa is NCT's sister group, so that usually means there are similarities between the groups and, when it comes to SM, it also means that their storylines are probably connected.
I also think the drones you see in "Take Off" are connected to the drones we see in a lot of SM's other group MVs, such as SuperM's "Jopping" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" MVs and EXO Kai's solo debut "Mmmh" MV and his "Film: Kai" teaser video, etc. It's all part of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline.
"Take Off" is also another part of NCT's dream concept, so what you are seeing in the MV could also be interpreted as different things to do with dreams and dreaming. Real things like the dream of wealth, the dream of fame, the dream of the perfect body (LOL), as well as things that only happen when you are literally dreaming, such as the wings and Ten's glowing eyes, etc.
The only reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name like the other NCT sub-units is because at the time of their debut there was a lot of political issues between Korea and China, and because of that Korean companies were not able to work in China. NCT's Chinese sub-unit has been going to debut for years, but with all the political issues it took SM a long time to find a way to work around all the rules the Chinese government put in place to prevent its native Chinese citizens from working with anyone associated with Korea and preventing anyone who was working with a Korean company from working in China.
So in order to circumvent some of China's restrictions, SM found/created a Chinese company that was willing to take on NCT's Chinese sub-unit, but also allow SM to have a say in the group's concept and promotion activities. Part of how they get around the rules is they gave the group a name that distances them from their Korean roots. (That is also why WayV's Chinese fans are called WayZenNi instead of NCTzens and why WayV has their own lightstick design that is different than NCT's.) The company WayV is under is called Label V which is part of SM, but separate from the Korean branch of the company and it produces songs in Mandarin to keep the Chinese government happy. All the members of WayV also speak Mandarin and have some connection to Chinese heritage, but most of the members are not native mainland Chinese citizens, so this gives them some immunity from the Chinese government. But they are representing China and they are promoting Chinese culture, so the Chinese government kind of turns a blind eye to the fact that they are technically still under a Korean company, as long as they hid any connection to their Korean company while doing promotions in China.
As you can see, not only do the WayV members speak, Mandarin, Korean and English, but Ten is from Thailand so he speaks Thai; Lucas is from Hong Kong so he speaks Cantonese and a little Thai because his mom is Thai; Hendery also speaks Cantonese because he is from Macau China; and Yangyang is Taiwanese, but he grew up in Germany so he also speaks German. WayV is a very international group that speaks many languages.
So, pretty much all of WayV's songs are in Mandarin with a few English lyrics and words mixed in. (Except when it's an English version, such as "Bad Alive" or their all English version of "Love Talk," or their new song "Miracle", or if you happen to pick the Korean version of "Turn Back Time.") LOL

Compared to the other units, WayV music is easy to like at first, not because it's "safe" compared to 127 crazy experimentation and Dream's catchy groove, They still unique and "neo" in their own way with guitar riffs, trap bass, sensual r&b, orchestral composition and typical pop elements (that sometimes happen all at once) their music has a very "Epic Movie Soundtrack" feel and it helps that this sound is usually what hit big in Chinese market (Duh, they love outstanding big productions), yet their music still very different from everything we see in the Cpop scenary, but i guess that's props to them for being a Chinese group produced by a Kpop Company, they got the best of both worlds.
You guys knew what you were doing when you put Lucas on the main screenshot. 😂 Also, WayV is hands-down the most amazing combo of amazing people and amazing music out there!
