WAY V is arguably the best sub-unit of NCT. They have distinct styles incomparable to the other groups/sub-units. They can speak more than 3 languages. They deserved the world.

Wayv is a sub unit from NCT
WayV is the 4th sub-unit of NCT! They are very multinational and most of them speak at least 2 or 3 languages (more in the case of Ten and Yangyang). Even though WayV of course have the signature NCT experimental sound, they still have their own unique quality to their music. Their sound tends to be heavier, a little more gritty and mature and I'm sure you noticed the slight rock influence with the electric guitar, particularly on their dance breaks. So cool, they're an amazing unit! Very talented and funny boys. 9:54 with the unique tone you noticed is Xiaojun (pronounced like "she-ow-june", but yk make it flow better lol) he's the main vocal, he's usually the one hitting those crazy notes! WayV also have a bit of a storyline that connects with the rest of NCT's and the rest of SM's SMCU but it's not very clear how yet. I like to call WayV's vibe "intergalactic industrial-core" lmao their mvs are definitely cinematic! I hope you continue to check out more of NCT as a whole! For WayV I recommend, "Regular" (they debuted with the chinese version of NCT 127's song Regular which I think was a cool way to connect the units), "Action Figure" and "Bad Alive".
little correction, yes their Regular came out later but still it's not "the Chinese version" as it doesn't have that added to the song name like 127's both Regular's "Korean version" and "English version" :)

WayV is the Chinese subunit of NCT but because of the political conflict between China and South Korea they cannot promote under the name NCT! SM even created a whole Chinese entertainment company, Label V, just so WayV would have no direct link to SM and Kpop!
Im not fully educated on the political situation between the two countries so if you’re interested feel free to do your own research!
it's not because of a political conflict... in China only certain type of companies/industries can start/set a company 100% foreign. The rest would be obliged to be part foreign, part Chinese. But it's not about political conflict but about how economy and business laws are in China.
That's why SM couldn't just open an SM branch like they have in Thailand or US. If they wanted to set & run business with WayV in China they needed to have part Chinese ownership, and therefore they needed to "rebrand" it = LabelV
Technically WayV debuted in January 2019 with the Mandarin version of "Regular," which was also NCT-127's song. But "Take Off," which came out in April 2019, is considered their official debut song because it was their first release that was all theirs.
As I think you know, currently, there are 7 members in WayV. Ten and Lucas are also members of NCT-U and SuperM; Winwin is also a member of NCT-U and NCT-127; Kun -- the leader of WayV -- originally debuted as part of NCT-2018; and Yanyang, Xiaojun and Hendrey debuted specifically as members of WayV at the beginning of 2019 when WayV was formed.
Because WayV (which stands for We Are Your Vision in English -- hence the line "the face of Vision" in the lyrics of "Turn Back Time") is part of NCT, NCT's whole dream concept is also part of WayV's storyline and concept. As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams.
Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's storyline also connects to EXO's and SuperM's storyline. You just have to come to accept that everything you see from SM will be connected to SM's Culture Universe, and it's all part of a giant drama or movie -- it's just another chapter in the story.
Since the creation of SuperM, where they are now taking members from each of SM's most popular groups and creating an Avengers supergroup, I think that was SM's first indication that from now on we need to pay attention, because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released their debut "Jopping" MV, WayV came out with "Moonwalk" and I think "Moonwalk" is pretty much a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think "Turn Back Time" and "Kick Back" are also part of that story. With NCT's dream concept, they could very easily connect to EXO's other world and other dimension theories.
One thing that I find interesting about WayV's "Take Off" MV, is that if you watch "Take Off" with an eye for looking for connections and theories, an argument could be made that the storyline in "Take Off" may have been designed to connect WayV -- and more specifically, Ten and Lucas -- to "SuperM's storyline. "Take Off" came out even before we knew that SM was even considering creating SuperM. But with all that I know about how SM spends years working on creating stories and connecting storylines between MVs and between its groups, it wouldn't surprise me if SM may have been planning ways to draw connections between WayV and SuperM even when the concept for "Take Off" was created. If you notice, there are several "superhero-like" elements in the "Take Off" MV that are similar to SuperM's and EXO's storyline and they could potentially be connected.
Not only, because "Take Off" was WayV's debut song, do the lyrics talk about being ready to take off, as in they are ready to be launched onto the scene and become superstars. But I think it is also supposed to be interpreted like they are ready to launch into orbit and join in the fight to help EXO battle the Red Force.
For instance, we see Xiaojun suspended in the air with wings in "Take Off" a lot like Lucas in the "Turn Back Time" MV and SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV. And we also see a lot of WayV's storyline has an otherworldly, futuristic and digital theme which could now be connected to aespa's storyline. aespa is NCT's sister group, so that usually means there are similarities between the groups and, when it comes to SM, it also means that their storylines are probably connected.
I also think the drones you see in "Take Off" and you see hovering around Lucas in the beginning of "Moonwalk" are connected to the drones we see in a lot of SM's other group MVs, such as SuperM's "Jopping" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" MVs and EXO Kai's solo debut "Mmmh" MV and his "Film: Kai" teaser video, etc. It's all part of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline.
"Take Off" is also another part of NCT's dream concept, so what you are seeing in the MV could also be interpreted as different things to do with dreams and dreaming. Real things like the dream of wealth, the dream of fame, the dream of the perfect body (LOL), as well as things that only happen when you are literally dreaming, such as the wings and Ten's glowing eyes, etc.
I even see parts of the story in "Moonwalk" and "Turn Back Time" that could be connected to SuperM's MV for "100" and "One (Monster & Infinity)" MVs and EXO's "Don't Fight the Feeling" MV.
For example, we also see SuperM in a spaceship or space capsule or on a space station in "100," which I think is connected to the space theme in "Moonwalk." In "Moonwalk" you see Ten become weightless as he floats inside what looks like a space capsule, etc.
When Lucas is suspended in the air in the MV for "One (Monster & Infinity)," I see similarities to the fact that he is supposed to be a fallen angel in "Turn Back TIme" who is also floating in the air. Lucas doesn't have a shirt on because he has just had his wings ripped off or removed, so he is shirtless because he is recovering from whatever happened to him. You see the scars on Lucas' back because his wings have been torn off.
And, if you notice, Ten and Lucas have a pivotal role in the storyline in "Moonwalk" and "Turn Back Time" I think this might be because they are members of SuperM and they are coming to gather the other WayV members to bring them into the fight.
I think the apocalyptic scenes you see happening in "Moonwalk" are connected to the fact that at the end of EXO's "Obsession" MV we see the world burning as the EXO members battle their alter ego clones X-EXO for control. And, I think it also is connected to the fact that we see the world burning as if an apocalypse is happening in EXO Lay's solo "Sheep" Alan Walker relift version MV. And it's also connected to the meteor shower we see in the beginning of EXO's "Don't Fight the Feeling" and in some of EXO's teaser videos over the years and concert VCRs.
I also don't think WayV are on Earth in "Moonwalk," or at least not a version of Earth that we are familiar with. I think WayV may be either in a dream universe or in another time and place in the future. Just like how EXO is thought to be traveling between time periods and alternate realities in their search for the Tree of Life and quest to stop the Red Force, etc. The "desert" scenes I think are showing them on another planet or futuristic world.
I also wonder if WayV actually has the power to turn back time, similar to Tao's superpower in EXO -- will it be their job to help fix the problems in EXO's and SuperM's storyline by turning back time? ("5, 4, 3, 2,1" -- they are counting down and turning back time. The end move in the choreography was designed to show time had abruptly been stopped and the momentum of their movements caused their body to tremble like that, etc.)
Maybe in "Turn Back Time" the WayV members are cut up and injured because they have been involved in the battle as they help SuperM take down the Red Force.
So on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third and fourth generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. It's all part of SM's Universe. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee's storyline. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen.
Now you need to check out the dance practice videos for "Take off," "Moonwalk" and "Turn Back Time."

Love Wayv! People are seriously sleeping on them. Personally love their music most out of all NCT units - the songs are just cool/smooth without seeming try-hard. (Their Bsides are also amazing!) WayV is definitely the most mature of the NCT groups, in terms of the music they put out its definitely more sexual/sensual which is crazy because they're the youngest of the NCT subunits (so far - there's rumors of future JP and US subunits which i don't understand since if they wanted an international subunit that's literally already WayV) Take Off is one of my favourite songs from them. I saw them live and this instrumental is just...so rich and expensive sounding. That bubbly bass definitely hooked me. WayV is my favourite NCT unit :) EDIT: omfg you're like the only reactor i know who also recognize the air marshal signals reference at the end of take off!!

Fun fact: As you heard, the MV for WayV's "Love Talk" is an all English version, but -- because WayV is the Mandarin Chinese sub-unit of NCT -- if you listen to the album you will see there is a Mandarin version of the song, as well. SM just chose to only make an MV for the English version.
Because WayV -- which stands for We Are Your Vision in English -- is part of NCT, NCT's whole dream concept is also part of WayV's storyline and concept. As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams, dreaming or something to do with being in a dream state.
Therefore, I think in WayV's "Love Talk" MV you are supposed to interpret it as if you are inside a dream. I see the cube that is floating in the air as part of SM's labyrinth concept where, like EXO, they might be trapped inside a maze. Which, if the maze is part of the Red Forces' plot, could be why they are in a foggy dream state. In EXO's storyline it is thought that the Red Force has trapped EXO in a maze and the maze dulls EXO's sense and makes it so they are unable to fight back. We often see the EXO members in a sleepy dazed state because they are under the Red Forces' control. And now with the release of aespa's recent "aespa ep. 2 'Next Level' -- SM Culture Universe" video, it looks like that same floating labyrinth cube that we see in "Love Talk" is what blocks aespa's way as they travel through Kwangya. (And we even see this same cube in SHINee Key's recent solo "Gasoline" MV.)
> Kun is the oldest and a lead vocalist.
> Ten -- the one who you see first in the song -- is Thai, but his grandparents are Chinese and he attended an international school in Thailand where they spoke English most of the time, so he is fluent in English (He is the NCT member who is fluent in the most languages -- on top of being fluent in Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin, he is also learning Japanese); he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and center of WayV.
> WinWin is a lead vocalist and lead dancer (He is trained in traditional Chinese dance and attended one of the most prestigious dance academies in China. He was also admitted to a very important dance program at University -- Similar to the Chinese equivalent of Julliard.)
> Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, so his native language is Cantonese and he is the tallest member; he is a lead rapper, vocalist and the visual of WayV.
> Xiaojun -- the blond one -- is the main vocalist and the one with the high notes most of the time.
> Hendrey is from Macau China, so he also speaks Cantonese; he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper.
> Yangyang -- the one with the light orange hair -- is the youngest and he is Taiwanese, but he lived in Germany for a while and attended an international school, so he is also fluent in English and proficient in German; he is the main rapper.
The only reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name like the other NCT sub-units is because, at the time of their debut, there was a lot of political issues between Korea and China, and because of that Korean companies were not able to work in China. NCT's Chinese sub-unit has been going to debut for years, but with all the political issues it took SM a long time to find a way to work around all the rules the Chinese government put in place to prevent its native Chinese citizens from working with anyone associated with Korea and preventing anyone who was working with a Korean company from working in China.
So in order to circumvent some of China's restrictions, SM found/created a Chinese company that was willing to take on NCT's Chinese sub-unit, but also allow SM to have a say in the group's concept and promotion activities. Part of how they get around the rules is they gave the group a name that distances them from their Korean roots. (That is also why WayV's Chinese fans are called WayZenNi instead of NCTzens and why WayV has their own lightstick design that is different than NCT's) The company WayV is under is called Label V, which is part of SM, but separate from the Korean branch of the company and it produces songs in Mandarin to keep the Chinese government happy. All the members of WayV also speak Mandarin and have some connection to Chinese heritage, but most of the members are not native mainland Chinese citizens, so this gives them some immunity from the Chinese government. But they are representing China and they are promoting Chinese culture, so the Chinese government kind of turned a blind eye to the fact that they are technically still under a Korean company, as long as they hid any connection to their Korean company while doing promotions in China.
As you can see, not only do the WayV members speak Mandarin, Korean and English, but they are a very international group that speaks many languages.
So, pretty much all of WayV's songs are in Mandarin with a few English lyrics and words mixed in. (Except when it's an English version, such as "Bad Alive" or, as you heard, their all English version of "Love Talk," or their new song "Miracle", or if you happen to pick the Korean versions of "Turn Back Time" or "Kick Back.") LOL
Because WayV is the Chinese unit, but they are releasing music in Korea and promoting in Korea, not specifically in China, makes it so SM is more likely to produce the song in English. Hence, why the majority of WayV's songs lately are English songs, because -- due to the pandemic, political issues, Lucas being on hiatus and WinWin busy with solo activities in China, etc. -- they aren't promoting as a group in China right now. I think it helps SM avoid any crossover issues with Korea that might make it more difficult for them to promote in China, if and when they eventually get back to their Chinese roots as a group.

I think it's already many comments told you that WayV is NCT Chinese unit, yeah they have so many english version of their songs (actually wayv happened not have 'nct' on their name because of KR and CHN problems back then, also the reason their song has many english to make it can promoted in Korea back then).
