Thank you Luke for giving a spotlight to these old songs that haven't taken a wrinkle because Perfection crosses eras and has no age....❤ Way to go to the Exceptional Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb ...👋👋👋
Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb exploded onto the scene with their "Guilty" album in the '80s, packed with vocal gems ...💖💝 " What Kind Of Fool " happens to be my favorite song. They absolutely killed it in this live performance at a party organized by Barbra in the garden of her house ... ...👋👋👋 I'm so pleased, Luke, to see your reaction...🤩
This is my favorite song of this Album of Barbra and Barry Gibb...Their Voices ......OMG......!!!! He is an Amazing Vocalist....His Falsettos are Stunning...and Barbra...No words....👋👋👋
Barbra updated this song some time ago with John Legend. It is worth a listen! She used duets as a way to break away from Broadway and expand her audience and musical styles. It worked!! Did you know she suffered from great stage fright and still was able to do that!! Now go listen to what she and John did with this! I'll wait!!🥰
She sang Send in the Clowns at this same backyard concert for charity in 1986. Watch her subtle facial expressions as she sings this song. It makes one appreciate what an amazing actress she is as well as an incomparable singer. She recorded this song on her Broadway Album, and Stephen Sondheim even wrote an extra verse (included in this version) at her request.
This is from the ONE VOICE concert she did at her house, the selected guets paid each US$5.000 yes five thousand dollars to watch her singing, it´s an amazing concert with some wonderful songs from this once in a life time performer. Ms. Streisand is an amazing singer from a time when music was good, to each its own, but for me she´s one of the greatest of all times.
Always loved Streisands fashion sense..very understated elegance..and that looks "ageless"..she wore lot of Donna Karan ( they are friends). Enjoying your reactions! Also because you have beautiful diction. As a lover of the English language that is always a joy to hear
The album "Guilty" Barry (and his brothers, but mainly he) made for and with Barbra Streisand not only revitalized her album sales, but revitalized the record industry as a whole. The album was a total sensation and sold so many copies world wide, so quickly after its release, it was like the records were handed out for free. Two huge showbizz names teaming up together was a big thing back in 1980. Initially the Gibbs were asked to "write a song" for Barbra. They wrote several and Barbra liked them so much that the idea for doing a whole album was born. The Gibb brothers wrote all the songs for that album. In fact, they wrote many more, so Barbra picked her favorite ones of the dozens of songs she was presented with. Barry sang 2 duets with Barbra on the album. The title song "Guilty" (album version th-cam.com/video/Phh9B1-4EYs/w-d-xo.html) and "What kind of fool?" (album version: th-cam.com/video/hfIR9NCcUKI/w-d-xo.html / live version: th-cam.com/video/3vi2RSWKfRQ/w-d-xo.html). But most of the songs on the album had Barry's backing vocals and that special BeeGees sound to them. On Woman in Love Barry only plays the acoustic guitar. Background vocals are by Denise Maynelli, Myrna Mathews and Marti McCal. You should listen to the entire album, it's a classic. And the whole music business, including all the big stars, were starstruck by this duo as you can see in this clip th-cam.com/video/pR1q_lPAzVg/w-d-xo.html. After this album, the BeeGees produced albums for Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers and Diana Ross among others, for whom they also wrote all the songs. Most of these albums became best sold albums of these artists, too. This was from the 1986 One Voice concert Barbra held in her backyard to raise awareness after the Tjernobyl disaster.
Robin & Mo didn't produce any albums for other major artists. They were all produced by Barry, Albhy Galuten & Karl Richardson. Also, the twins & Albhy Galuten helped Barry write some songs. The rest were written by Barry.
She did this concert in her backyard. This was by invite only which they said was like getting an invitation from the Queen. Everyone who was famous and super famous was in that audience. She got flak though because she sounded unrehearsed critics said. It broke every HBO record at the time.

One thing you really notice on this video is that she's never not a director. You know she staged every second of that, from how they posed at the beginning to pulling her hand slowly away from his at the end.
I feel like she was watching him closely and trying to compliment, rather than overshadow him vocally. He was probably trying to do the same thing but came off much more nervous. I might be wrong but that's how I felt watching them.
@uptownjay I'd imagine Barbra was nervous. She's a well known sufferer of stage fright. In fact, I think this concert was the first time she'd performed live for many years.
Great reaction. I feel the studio version of this song is best though. The balance of the two voices is better- you can hear Barry better in the studio version. ❤
Amazing reaction Room, for me Sir Barry Gibb is a Top 3 Vocal Performer with Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson when it comes to vocal range - it is outstanding his live performance th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html and when you compare this to a performance,40 years later with the age of 73 his voice aged like fine wine at the Glastonbury festival in front of 150.000 festival fans th-cam.com/video/ksJ8dtaxHR0/w-d-xo.html 🔥🔥🔥 simply EPIC - Bee Gees forever

Love this song! Its a bittersweet remembrance of a romance torn apart by betrayal.
Barbra also did a different arrangement of this song as a duet with John Legend on her Partner’s album. Excellent album and great duet as well
Barbra updated this song some time ago with John Legend. It is worth a listen! She used duets as a way to break away from Broadway and expand her audience and musical styles. It worked!! Barry also wrote her 2005 Guilty Pleasures album. He and his team produced both albums. Check out Stranger in a strange land and Above the law

The two BBs singing together "" What kind of Fool".. Nice melody blending together nicely. Thanks for your reaction..
WOW
My favorite album a d Barry Gibb is my favorite singer/songwriter and performer.
She did this concert in her backyard. This was by invite only which they said was like getting an invitation from the Queen. Everyone who was famous and super famous was in that audience. She got flak though because she sounded unrehearsed critics said. It broke every HBO record at the time.
As I recall it was also a fundraiser. Those invited did have to pay like 1500 dollars ( pocket change, of course, for those invited)
@@reddragonready it was 5k per couple. So almost 15k today. The most money raised by a woman at that time I think they said.
The Gibb brothers penned this album and Barry produced it. It was Streisand’s largest selling album.
Robin & Mo helped write half the album.
Love your reaction and analysis!

(B) The making of the song "Just in Case"
(C) The making of the video "This is Where I Came in" from their last cd in 2001

THANK YOU SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL
Please react to The Bee Gees Medley Live 1989.
I feel like she was watching him closely and trying to compliment, rather than overshadow him vocally. He was probably trying to do the same thing but came off much more nervous. I might be wrong but that's how I felt watching them.
HA!! Neither of them were “nervous”.
Barry has ALWAYS "taken back" in duets or backup vocals when he wrote songs for others in order to let them shine!
@uptownjay I'd imagine Barbra was nervous. She's a well known sufferer of stage fright. In fact, I think this concert was the first time she'd performed live for many years.
@@nelerhabarber5602Yep, so true!
This makes me realize how much we take cordless microphones for granted.
Right?!👍
👍👌👌
This is Barbra and Barry Gunn live at a concert for a benefit on her property. Another masterpiece
Barry Gibb
Great reaction. I feel the studio version of this song is best though. The balance of the two voices is better- you can hear Barry better in the studio version. ❤
From 1986.
Cmon barb
The Bee Gee's wrote and Barry produced the Guilty Album with Barbara Striesand.
