( How to convert ac to dc without transformer ) 220v to 12v converter.
This is a transformerless power supply using a 1.4uf or 2.2uf X-rate Capacitor. plz, don't touch the circuit because 220V AC damages you.
Components used in this project:-
1. 1.4uf/400V X- Rteted capacitor
2. Rectifier 5A or 10A
3. 4.7uf/100V Capacitor
4. 0.22 Ohm / 5W Resistor
5. 1M Resistor
6. 12V/2W Zener Diode x2

200ma. It is depend capacitor. Yes you can change Voltge of zener diode.
Circuits like this should never be used in any circuit where it is possible for a human or other animal to make contact with any point of the entire circuit. They pose a risk of lethal shock.

Yes, it works, but it's NOT SAFE.
I'm a retired electronic engineer, with nearly 50 years experience and whilst such circuits are sometimes used in applications where the user has NO ACCESS to any of the wiring, it's nothing but irresponsible to present it as if it can be used for everyday projects. Use an isolating transformer or a professionally manufactured switch mode power supply and stay alive. He doesn't even bother to point out that even the 12 volt side is live.

Please test yourself....if the live(phase) is connected to the open end of the ac capacitor, no shock at the output DC end....to ensure safety, I use a 3 pin plug top where always live and neutral are connected at fixed terminals....and offcourse for safety keep the entire unit within a customised MDF/pvc/acrylic box....I also do few more modifications ...1) a 30 K 1/4 W in parallel to the filter capacitor to discharge it quickly, 2) A LED with 1 K 1/4 W across the DC O/P as indicator, 3) the entire circuit on a small piece of vero board to save space and also for safety 4)use 4 pieces of 4007 instead of a composite bridge rectifier IC
Can you plz tell me can I use transformer 220v ac to 12v dc at output with half bridge rectifier to rectify ac into dc. Can I deliver 12amps current at 12v through it keeping in mind that diodes support that much current. I want to drive my flyback transformer with it. Plz tell 😊

Por ley de Ohm podría saberse. Si el capacitor a una determinada frecuencia se opone con una determinada resistencia en su RC, más los 22 Ohm de la resistencia de 5 W, quizás estarías en unos 3000 Ohm. Por ley de Ohm, A = V/R y eso no da más de 70 mA en 220v
