What's your idea of a PERFECT sensory bin?

Whenever I clean out my pantry i always collect the items that may have expired (stale oats, forgotten half empty sacks of flour for salt dough, sprinkles from that one cake I made 4 years ago, etc) and I label them "sensory", and move them to my craft cupboard. Obviously, using spoiled food is not taste safe, but it works great for sensory play with kids old enough not to eat it.
I loved all the little things you found for building sensory bins! It's awesome to collect things like these that can be iover and over again!

Ive made two confetti bins for my kids. One with colours to sort for my youngest and one with letters for my oldest. And I have a sand in for when it's rainy outside, they can scoop and pour and measure with different tools. I like your sensory bin vids a lot, they are always a good inspiration for me :)

Hi Christina! How old are your kids? Do they still interested in sensory bins? Or sensory bins are only for toddlers and preschoolers.

Mine are 9 and 10. My 10 year old hasn't been interested since she was about 5. But my 9 year old is still interested. It really depends on the child and the contents of the sensory bin.

Have you done a sensory bin for babies? I have a 1 yr old but a lot of this would just go in the mouth

Yes, in that case you'd have to use items that are large enough and safe for them to use. These are not for children that are in an oral phase.
