I am a musician myself, but more importantly a Christian. And this is hands down and WITHOUT QUESTION one of the GREATEST versions of any song. What a true Blessing and example of talent that GOD gives his Children. I listen to this over and over and have shared it with MANY. Just outstanding!
David Phelps has the greatest singing voice God ever created! the Gaither vocal band is the Best ever. I have been listening to them for decades and never get enough. I start my day with praise and worship to Jesus with David and the vocal band songs!

I wish I could tell you how hugely important this song has been to me. Both my parents died and my husband left me all in a time period of 6 months. I was battling crippling anxiety and fighting it and fighting God. Finally, I just told him, Lord if you want me to have anxiety, I'll have it. Just don't leave me. I felt his peace, and my life began to turn around.

I am a sinner and I don't have the faith , as I keep sinning. I Pray for redemption but it never happens. The next day I am doing what I don't want to do. I pray for my heart and mind be changed but it never happens. I as for Christ to intervene to forgive me, and give me a clean and new sole and mind. I love him so much. But I always fail. I want to be the house , home for my father. I believe that Jesus is the son of God and he was the Passover lamb, who die to free man from sin. I love or should say love all people the same. But I keep doing or thinking in a selfish sin full way. I don't want to be this way!!

This kind of music is worth it to those who are genuine christians, all instruments are played in harmony to give the true rythm that enables the listener to meet with the devine without exciting the lustful desires but uplifting the sinner to be transformed
Out of all the Gaither Vocal band groups formed, this was my best combination. So anointed, well blending and balance. Praise God.

In my opinion, this is the greatest GVB lineup ever.
He may be a very nice person, but I believe a very small percentage of people would choose Wes over Guy Penrod!
Further, I think Wes was a first tenor replacement for Phelps, not a replacement for Guy. When Phelps returned, Wes had to move to 2nd tenor, because nobody is out-singing Phelps!
Elia Taubert Wes is a great singer, but for me he is to "clean", he has no edges and his voice is a little to "small", especially if we compare him with Guy and David.
Guy has this roughness and belts straight from "the ground" and paired with David's clear powerhouse voice it just sounds like what I expect heaven to sound like.
Wes could replace David to a certrain extent, but Guy is irreplaceable. :D

The Gaither Vocal Band is always incredible, but there is something about the chemistry these four radiate together (Bill Gaither, Guy Penrod, Mark Lowry, and David Phelps) that is just so AMAZING!!!

As a home health nurse, I would go into homes 15 or so years ago and see my patients watching The Homecoming videos. It was only background noise while I made my visit. One month ago, I heard that Mark Lowry would be in my area, and I went to TH-cam to research. How have I missed this amazing music all of my life? I am overwhelmed by the harmonies and the messages of Christ's love. Thank you so much Bill Gaither and your musical family for such an amazing gift.
My sentiments as well. I am a huge fan (now) of all these videos !!!! Omygosh. I had no idea. I cannot stop watching, listening, praying, crying and rejoicing with them. Years ago, I backslid from my faith. It was many years before I left behind all my addictions and torment for a crown of Victory through Christ. What a blessing to still see many of the singers and musicians I listened to in the 70's still going. Many have crossed over into His Kingdom. Can't wait to be reunited. However, God is still using their music to minister and bless so many young and old people who take the time to listen. I am a huge fan of Mark Lowry. I fell into these singing videos after following a Christian comedian, Tim Hawkins (I think that's his name) and I saw Mark Lowry's videos so started watching his comedy. One thing led to another....now I have researched most of the groups singers and gotten educated as to whose who. It helped me catch up to now. Bill Gaither is such an amazing man. I love watching him interact with his boys....you can see how he loves Mark, Mike English, David Phelps, Guy Penrod, Wes Hampton, and so on. He adores Mark. How beautiful that Mark was blessed by God to be comfortable with his ADD as a blessing and not a curse. Can you believe he is not married ? What a brilliant man of God !!! Thank you doesn't cover my appreciation to Bill and Gloria Gaither for their passion and work making these videos possible. I am a fan of so many singers now I never knew existed. Praise the Lord !!!
As a home care Physical Therapist I also first heard this marvelous , anointed group of voices along with a multitude of other " Homecoming Friends " . I,would often bring my IPad into homes to make,exercises less arduous for the disinclined , while opening up a window of discipleship witnessing to those of various persuasions and religions . This worship and praise music carries me from day to day .

Yes, and I believe GRACE ENABLES a believer to stop sinning, something they could not do on their own. God gives grace so we can become more and more like Him over time. Our lives should not look the same as a nonbeliever's life. Thus, good works are a natural result (a fruit) of true faith.

I adore every watching Mark’s reaction to his fellow singers in each Gaither video. He truly loves his brothers in Christ and watching them worship the Lord along side him. He is more talented than many people give him credit before, but he lets the others take the spotlight.

The Gaither Vocal Band truly ministers to me. I thank God for my Mom introducing me to the Gaither Vocal Band almost 15 years ago when I was pregnant with my almost 14 year old son. They have gotten me through a lot (sickness, the death of my youngest daughter, depression, feeling unworthy, etc.)... My supervisor who is a wonderful lady wonders why a young lady listens to Gaither Music. I told her that it truly ministers to me and I need that to keep me going.

I grew up listening to (dare I say over 50 years ago) the Gaither Trio and the Vocal Band and I have to say that Mark, Guy and David make up the best Vocal Band. There is such a witness of the Spirit when they sing and their harmonies are unmatchable. I have been going through a wilderness time and I started listening to these "old songs" again and they have been a refreshment to my soul. May God continue to bless them and their families. As they each have gone out on their own, may God continue to use each of them to impact lives and share the Gospel through music.

+lorilemonade My prayer for you is, if you have not yet met the Lord, pray to Him. Admit that you too are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you and invite Him into your heart. Then you will find the love for Him that these men have and can pass it on to others who do not know and love Him. Yes, there are many 'Godless creeps' but there are also many who love Him and share His love. God bless you.

You sound a lot like my own daughter. Like the country song, she's spent her entire adult life "looking for love in all the wrong places". The who's-who list of her life is one pathetic loser after another. All she has to show for it is that 4 of them are dead, and she's divorced with 4 children and an absent, wicked father. Drug users, perverts, and criminals. Pretty sad, huh? Like you possibly were, she was raised from birth in a home that stressed the importance of a right relationship with God via salvation through Jesus Christ. However, salvation isn't "taught", it's "caught".
I do not judge you as I know nothing of your life, and would echo the comments of Van. You won't find the right kind of man at the local bar or online at "needacountryboy.com". Start with a Bible-believing church and WAIT ON GOD to bring the kind of man that honors Him first into your life.
