@@hhgff778 The joke here is that when discussing their powers, abilities, and feat, they always end up with "they are pretty even" Just to pull out of their ass 1 random feat from that obscure comic that no one ever read cuz it was pretty bad or had a few copies printed, and then say that the character is like googolplex times multiversal. They literally keep info secret to make it seem like the other character stands a chance cuz otherwise you would know who wins as soon as they mention the crazy feat.
Not to mention that there is an ability in many games that allow Sonic to dash at light speed and if you use it on a checkpoint that measure your speed the number they give is lower than that of Sonic just runing past it.

The fight that made me believe that they were biased at times was Master Chief vs. Doom Guy. Simply because they said that Doom Guy was so fast that he could outrun his own rockets, yet they made him slow as a snail in the actual fight.

Honesty I understand why they did this matchup-because of the whole ripoff characters fight each other gimmick. But beyond physical appearance I've never understood the idea that they are remotely similar.

tnt is an actual unit of measurement. It's the the most common standard for measuring explosive relative strenght. Of course its based on the driving fragment ability of the TNT explosives. Not to be confused with TMNT

Also the reason why they mostly use TNT is because Newtons or Joules for even low tiers is big and TNT helps put it at smaller but still accurate numbers and not because they are Americans. (E.g:-The energy required to destroy a city block which is the average for Death Battle character's AP is 4.6024*10^10 or 46024000000 Joules of energy while in Tons of TNT, it's only 11-100 Tons of TNT.)

Saitama is way more popular now than Popeye and look at what happened. We could even go as far back as Goku vs Superman when Goku was at his most popular and he lost twice. The popular character winning is in your head since more times than not the unlikely pick is the obvious pick.

The worst part was they had actual good arguments for Green Lantern winning like how he has defeated enemies who are similar in power to Alien X and has survived Alien X's Greatest attacks and then they didn't show any of it until their podcast. That entire episode baffles me. It's just so badly communicated from the fight to the analysis
I admit, yeah they had some that were good arguments, but ben was still able to continue those feats as well, and they haven't considered other aliens like jet ray, who was faster than xlr8, and can match hal's speed, and with planet outcome, he didn't just create his universe, it was a bit of the opposite, yeah he rebuild it, but that didn't mean he remade his universe, it was more of an agreement with what Ben's personality traits were doing and decided, they really need to revive it not create a new one. It's confusing, but if you look at the right theory, having ben having his arm cut off by scissors, was just plain stupid, Ben's omnitrix is way faster than that, and can find an alien that can nolify his arm from cutting off, like goop, diamond head, chromostone, and maybe Gravittack. And I understand that another green lantern like Hal,was able to hold out the big bang, same can apply here with ben with his omnitrix, but that's my opinion, everyone is entitled to their own opinions

Honestly, my favourite so far has been Sun Wukong VS Heracles. Well researched, and a very believable result. A match up of two stupidly powerful characters, both technically immortal. But the Monkey King has multiple layers of bullshi-I mean immortality, and so wins.

My favorite parts of these battles is that short animated interactions between boomstick and Wiz. Like in Sauron’s data boomstick accident are the ring and in other when boomstick gets struck with an anvil. Also the canon fact that boomstick has a shotgun for a leg

To be fair the Gods in GoW never "acted" like gods. I understand the in game continuity is a reinvention of the gods and I recently learned there are comics but honestly a GOD would turn Kratos into a bull or an ant and then take a nap. While Spawn put up with God and Devils who actually behaved like God and Devils. But having Spawn only weak against holy weapons made the fight one sided.

I’d love to see them revisit that. Starscream being MFTL, them using the calcs from the Optimus episode and scaling him to Megatron’s planet level durability. Maybe they’ll also address that Starscream’s ghost can possses organic beings.

The Death Battle that annoyed me the most was Dracula vs Ganon. In Dracula’s case they were including things from the show, which is completely separate from the games. Mathias and Vlad are not the same person. There’s just some pretty major, contradictory differences between the Show’s universe and the Game’s universe that shouldn’t mix.
umm, they used the game story, they're just using the show for visuals. None of the feats shown were from the show (except the dodging arrows part). Matthias and Vlad ARE the same person, just probably not the same guy as the one in the show.

Mathias from the games and Vlad from the show are practically two different characters, beyond that, the lore from the show is separate from the lore of the games, given that they take place in two completely different universes. The show has more in common with the Lord of Shadows universe as opposed to the actual canon franchise.

The Show Vlad has just a small fraction of Mathias’ backstory, which is simply his marriage to Lisa and not Elisabetha back when he was Mathias. And again, we know Elisabetha didn’t exist in the show due to Vlad straight up telling his army of night creatures to “kill for the only woman he’s ever loved”. So while they share a name, they’re not the same people. Much like how the Trevors, Syphas and Alucards are different. I’d include Grant in there but apparently Ellis decided to make him into a moron who put wheels on a rowboat, despite the fact that Grant wasn’t even a landlocked pirate to begin with.
Funny enough, one of my favorite episodes is Weiss vs Mitsuru, which while one character can basically nope the other characters main weapon, is one the best choreographed fights on the show.
I personally hated that one. I will fully admit (as my PFP gives away), I am a huge fan of Weiss. Do I think she should have won? No, best girl sucks in 1v1’s. Love her to death, it’s not happening. But the fact that they pit the Ice Queen against someone completely immune to ice pissed me off. It wasn’t even close to a fair matchup in my eyes.

@@anabomination2784 kinda late to this comment, but whats especially funny was that Venom, at the time they used him, had such a high resistance to sound that it was barely a weakness anymore. On top of that, now it would be completely unfair with the introduction of codices which allow venom to use specific abilities from previous hosts for a short time, and even bring its strongest bonded host back to life at will. They also completely left out eddie being able to form an all black blade (super powerful weapon) which he had done at least once before the episode released. they even referenced it, and just called it a normal sword, even though its one of the most powerful weapons in marvel lol
I don't even care all the much for the outcome or the logic behind whoever won. I just watch it for the fight itself and seeing the greatest feats each character has had.
I also said this about Yang vs Tifa. At the time I was like "yeah" Yang would win cause I was bias to RWBY but then after playing FF-7 (Remake) I looked back at the battle and thought yeah this is Yang from like Volume 2 at best and was like "Yang definitely should not have won that fight whatsoever"
Should point out that DB themselves have stated numberous times that Yang vs Tifa was accurate to the measures and metrics they used AT THE TIME. But with modern methods she stomps yang
My take on this was to face palm bc they used footage from Advent Children clearly showing her do stuff then saying she couldn't and at the end of AC Tifa says she is no where near peak game Tifa which is the stats they used during the matchup. I didnt know enough about Yang at the time to say she would win/lose but misrepresenting Tifa's power stopped me from taking DB seriously anymore.
@@harrymorris2361 Don't know how accurate their metrics are when they give her max stats, her weakest weapon, and barely any materia that would have been useful. They can try to spin it anyway they want, it was a BS play to try and make RWBY look better. Just like how they failed with the first Link Vs Cloud match and then decided to flip it for the rematch. First time they should have either given each the starter gear and fight it out (I.E. Link gets only the gear up to getting the Master Sword in OOT) or give them endgame gear, stats, and items. Heck, I still remember when they put pokemon up against Digimon while forgetting that MOST Digimon are digital walking nukes once they hit a few evolutions while Pokemon has under 50 that would be on that level.
@@Kaimariification yeah the digimon vs Pokémon fight was definitely unfair. I enjoy both series and knowing that most digimon once they’ve gotten to the higher evolutions are stupidly strong while the best feats I could think for most Pokémon barring legendarys and mythicals are things like blastoise’s cannons punching through steel or being able to roll over a couple ton car in one hit. It was kinda obvious who would win and I’m guessing the only reason death battle does lopsided battles like that is because there’s some kind of perceived connection or rivalry between the characters or franchises.
For me, when it comes to Matchups, I really like the Connections first before anything, it's why we want these characters to go up against eachother and see them interact because of how Similar they are. And alot if the times, Connections come with Contrasts, which usually helps make a matchup more interesting, it's how we get alot of Hero vs Villain Matchups

I'm surprised no one has touched up on this, but my BIGGEST problem with how death battle scales everything in EVERY video they churn out, is hoe they use TNT as an analogy to compare feats. They quite literally make up outrageous numbers for everyone with the use of TNT.
Well tbf TNT is one of the main terms for vs debating,what you want to use Joules of energy?Well destroying a wall is atleast 10 zeros so Imagine the amount of zeros there will be in a Planet level feat.

One of my favorites was chief vs doomguy, showed me how little I actually knew about doomguy and how invincible I though chief was. It was literally the reason I actually started reading lore on characters and worlds. Totally worth it
Vs battle is honestly subjective, so im not exactly miffed when someone disagreees with death battle, they just came to a different conclusion, like i AGREE with them having GL beat Ben 10, i don't agree with how they made it happen, and i dont think theyre biased towards any series or media, theyve onky really ever done 3 spite matches, two were some of the worst episodes, one involving a salty animator purposely making the final prpduct bad, and the 3rd one was a dpite match on purpose
I would agree if they didn't straight up ignore feats of some characters, exagerasted feats of other characters and straight up made things up somethimes, at that point is not just a subjective interpretation, it is a manipulation of the information to fit the Result they want
He mentioned Thor vs wonderwoman and how it was 'Wonder Woman could only be killed by a piercing weapon' and well Thor uses a hammer. It was also the same with Hulk vs Doomsday. Doomsday has previously died to brute strength so cant die to it again. and Hulk uses brute strength. Meaning Hulk literally had no chance to win. interesting fight to watch but going 'yeah Fightr X literally, in not universe had any chance to win', just sucked.
From what I've heard, Ben 10 VS Green Lantern is mostly a good episode, even if the conclusion is kinda weak. I mean if I remember correctly, the preanalysis has things that they could've restated in the conclusion to better justify Hal's win, but, they kinda didn't or something. Not that the conclusion was the only problem, but, still a good episode from what I hear. Meanwhile I've seen a LOOOOOT of hate for Thanos VS Darkseid
“Feats, form, abilities, and power” also the way the character acts in a fight or the power they’re stated to have, also speed and iq are very important in a fight

I say this as a long time fan of Death Battle: I don't think they are biased. The showrunners have stated multiple times that sometimes the character they like/root for doesn't win according to their analysis. And they always go with the character they believe would win regardless of whether they like them or not. Case in point: The showrunners have been pretty open about liking both Goku and Ben more than Superman or GL. Both of them lost regardless. I believe the battles which they do get wrong (like Toph vs Gaara, or Yang vs Tifa) are genuine mistakes where they genuinely believe that the loser would win.
Especially when it comes to 2 anime characters from popular shows. Madara vs Aizen and Naruto vs Ichigo I love both shows but some people were upset with the outcome of those battles.
People that worked for death battle have came out and said a lot of the time just pick match ups because they are popular and not because the opponents are close in power

Yeah, pretty much any bat family vs Spiderman related fight is a one sided stomp. The only exception was Terry vs 2099 because his future tech was enough to keep up with Miguel's nerfed spider powers compared to the rest of the superverse. So I get what you are saying here no cap. Sometimes the one sided stomp is still fun to watch, Omniman vs Homelander was a stomp but still fun since Nolan treated Homelander like a spoiled brat and this fight was a spanking.
one death battle tha still kinda pisses me off too this day was obito vs darth vader. they showed all of obitos moves, mentions SOME of the things that vader can do in the comics but DONT MENTION DARK DIMENSION VADER
Death battle is pretty decent. Animation getting better over time, over 10 years only a few outcomes were grossly wrong, and the tribute that they pay a lot of these characters. I absolutely lost it when the got team four star to do Vegeta and alucard.
Eh, they get a stuff wrong pretty often, it just varies how big the fuckups are. The funniest example I can remember is them making Super Saiyan Goku literally HALF as strong as base form instead of 50 times stronger
Green Lantern vs Ben 10’s result was correct (I could go into detail why if you want.), but I *definitely* agree with you. Sometimes their reasonings make me go 🤨. Like why would you address stuff from the Cates run of Venom, but then use none of his feats from said run? Still a fun show though!

During “Zero Hour: Crisis in Time” a Parallax posessed Hal Jordan was able to pull an Alien X and recreate the entire universe. Later on, not only was Hal able to defeat a fully powered Parallax, but he was also able to defeat the Zero Hour version of himself during the Convergence event. Considering the DC universe is 1 billion times larger than ours, (It was calc’d in the Reverse Flash vs Goku Black episode.) and that the Ben 10 universe is the same size as ours, Hal Jordan is *vastly* more powerful than Alien X. Also, he has a hard-counter to Alien X. In the episode “Forge of Creation”, Agregor was going to steal the powers of a baby Celestialsapien. There’s nothing to imply that Celestialsapiens gain immunity to power stealing, in fact the opposite is implied. Agregor wanted a baby Celestialsapien because it didn’t have multiple conciousnesses to hold back its power. Meaning that there was more power to steal from the baby than an adult. The point in that fight is the ring is a better weapon, and with Hals infinite will he's beaten gods and defied reality and to my knowledge X can't time travel.
One of the things I love about death battle is that they managed to make complete stops, even matchups, and even matchup, and even matchups they get wrong, EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING. Like Naruto versus Ichigo for example. In hindsight, yes, this fight is wrong, but it’s so I was considered to be one of the best battles in the shows history. Another one is Thor versus Vegeta. EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM knew that vegeta was gonna take another L, and in the phone animation, they still manage to keep us hype and second guess who would win or not. That’s good writing. When they miss they miss. But when they hat they hit.

I watch Death Battle mainly for how they portray the characters and how they would react to each other in a fight. Reverse Flash vs. Goku Black is one my favorites for this reason: just watching these two ridiculously petty, (near) unkillable time travelers kill each other over and over again was the highlight of that season for me.

The worst part was they had actual good arguments for Green Lantern winning like how he has defeated enemies who are similar in power to Alien X and has survived Alien X's Greatest attacks and then they didn't show any of it until their podcast. I admit, yeah they had some that were good arguments, but ben was still able to continue those feats as well, and they haven't considered other aliens like jet ray, who was faster than xlr8, and can match hal's speed, and with planet outcome, he didn't just create his universe, it was a bit of the opposite, yeah he rebuild it, but that didn't mean he remade his universe, it was more of an agreement with what Ben's personality traits were doing and decided, they really need to revive it not create a new one. It's confusing, but if you look at the right theory, having ben having his arm cut off by scissors, was just plain stupid, Ben's omnitrix is way faster than that, and can find an alien that can nolify his arm from cutting off, like goop, diamond head, chromostone, and maybe Gravittack. And I understand that another green lantern like Hal,was able to hold out the big bang, same can apply here with ben with his omnitrix, but that's my opinion, everyone is entitled to their own opinions

Honestly, my favourite so far has been Sun Wukong VS Heracles.
Well researched, and a very believable result. A match up of two stupidly powerful characters, both technically immortal. But the Monkey King has multiple layers of bullshi-I mean immortality, and so wins.
Sun Wukong has immortality raised to the third power, it's fucking ridiculous but also highly entertaining.

No, he's literally a god. He was born a demigod but later ascended to godhood after the death of Ares and took his place, even Hercules was jealous that Kratos ascended to godhood before him. So Kratos has been a genuine god since the end of God of war 1, even 2018 and Ragnarok reminds us that he's a god, he literally says he's a god in 2018 and Ragnarok showed they needed the blood of a god to form his new weapon, which was his very own blood.

The Death Battle that annoyed me the most was Dracula vs Ganon. In Dracula’s case they were including things from the show, which is completely separate from the games. Mathias and Vlad are not the same person. There’s just some pretty major, contradictory differences between the Show’s universe and the Game’s universe that shouldn’t mix.
umm, they used the game story, they're just using the show for visuals. None of the feats shown were from the show (except the dodging arrows part).
Matthias and Vlad ARE the same person, just probably not the same guy as the one in the show.

Mathias from the games and Vlad from the show are practically two different characters, beyond that, the lore from the show is separate from the lore of the games, given that they take place in two completely different universes. The Show Vlad has just a small fraction of Mathias’ backstory, which is simply his marriage to Lisa and not Elisabetha back when he was Mathias. And again, we know Elisabetha didn’t exist in the show due to Vlad straight up telling his army of night creatures to “kill for the only woman he’s ever loved”. So while they share a name, they’re not the same people. Much like how the Trevors, Syphas and Alucards are different. I’d include Grant in there but apparently Ellis decided to make him into a moron who put wheels on a rowboat, despite the fact that Grant wasn’t even a landlocked pirate to begin with.
Funny enough, one of my favorite episodes is Weiss vs Mitsuru, which while one character can basically nope the other characters main weapon, is one the best choreographed fights on the show.
I personally hated that one. I will fully admit (as my PFP gives away), I am a huge fan of Weiss.
Do I think she should have won? No, best girl sucks in 1v1’s. Love her to death, it’s not happening.
But the fact that they pit the Ice Queen against someone completely immune to ice pissed me off. It wasn’t even close to a fair matchup in my eyes.

On top of that, now it would be completely unfair with the introduction of codices which allow venom to use specific abilities from previous hosts for a short time, and even bring its strongest bonded host back to life at will.
They also completely left out eddie being able to form an all black blade (super powerful weapon) which he had done at least once before the episode released. they even referenced it, and just called it a normal sword, even though its one of the most powerful weapons in marvel lol

At the time I was like "yeah" Yang would win cause I was bias to RWBY but then after playing FF-7 (Remake) I looked back at the battle and thought yeah this is Yang from like Volume 2 at best and was like "Yang definitely should not have won that fight whatsoever"

My take on this was to face palm bc they used footage from Advent Children clearly showing her do stuff then saying she couldn't and at the end of AC Tifa says she is no where near peak game Tifa which is the stats they used during the matchup. I didnt know enough about Yang at the time to say she would win/lose but misrepresenting Tifa's power stopped me from taking DB seriously anymore.

Just like how they failed with the first Link Vs Cloud match and then decided to flip it for the rematch. First time they should have either given each the starter gear and fight it out (I.E. Link gets only the gear up to getting the Master Sword in OOT) or give them endgame gear, stats, and items.
Heck, I still remember when they put pokemon up against Digimon while forgetting that MOST Digimon are digital walking nukes once they hit a few evolutions while Pokemon has under 50 that would be on that level.

It was kinda obvious who would win and I’m guessing the only reason death battle does lopsided battles like that is because there’s some kind of perceived connection or rivalry between the characters or franchises.

For me, when it comes to Matchups, I really like the Connections first before anything, it's why we want these characters to go up against eachother and see them interact because of how Similar they are. And alot if the times, Connections come with Contrasts, which usually helps make a matchup more interesting, it's how we get alot of Hero vs Villain Matchups
I mean, older death battle stuff was good too and admittedly was (dare I say) less biased, though my personal favorite was Deathstroke vs deadpool

One of my favorite death battles had to be between Metal Sonic and zero both created by an evil genius both rebelled against their creators but the greater of the two evils triumphed (zero)
I'm surprised no one has touched up on this, but my BIGGEST problem with how death battle scales everything in EVERY video they churn out, is hoe they use TNT as an analogy to compare feats.
They quite literally make up outrageous numbers for everyone with the use of TNT.

Vs battle is honestly subjective, so im not exactly miffed when someone disagreees with death battle, they just came to a different conclusion, like i AGREE with them having GL beat Ben 10, i don't agree with how they made it happen, and i dont think theyre biased towards any series or media, theyve onky really ever done 3 spite matches, two were some of the worst episodes, one involving a salty animator purposely making the final prpduct bad, and the 3rd one was a dpite match on purpose
I would agree if they didn't straight up ignore feats of some characters, exagerasted feats of other characters and straight up made things up somethimes, at that point is not just a subjective interpretation, it is a manipulation of the information to fit the Result they want
Prolly the worst offender I remember was aang vs Edward elric. Aang was basically a demigod, of course he would beat a double amputee in a fight.
He mentioned Thor vs wonderwoman and how it was 'Wonder Woman could only be killed by a piercing weapon' and well Thor uses a hammer.
It was also the same with Hulk vs Doomsday. Doomsday has previously died to brute strength so cant die to it again. and Hulk uses brute strength. Meaning Hulk literally had no chance to win.

From what I've heard, Ben 10 VS Green Lantern is mostly a good episode, even if the conclusion is kinda weak.
I mean if I remember correctly, the preanalysis has things that they could've restated in the conclusion to better justify Hal's win, but, they kinda didn't or something.
Not that the conclusion was the only problem, but, still a good episode from what I hear.

For me I look for six things:
Feats

Abilities

Weaponry
And Experience.

I say this as a long time fan of Death Battle: I don't think they are biased. The showrunners have stated multiple times that sometimes the character they like/root for doesn't win according to their analysis. And they always go with the character they believe would win regardless of whether they like them or not.
Case in point: The showrunners have been pretty open about liking both Goku and Ben more than Superman or GL. Both of them lost regardless. I believe the battles which they do get wrong (like Toph vs Gaara, or Yang vs Tifa) are genuine mistakes where they genuinely believe that the loser would win.

Yeah, pretty much any bat family vs Spiderman related fight is a one sided stomp. The only exception was Terry vs 2099 because his future tech was enough to keep up with Miguel's nerfed spider powers compared to the rest of the superverse. So I get what you are saying here no cap. Sometimes the one sided stomp is still fun to watch, Omniman vs Homelander was a stomp but still fun since Nolan treated Homelander like a spoiled brat and this fight was a spanking.

Death battle is pretty decent. Animation getting better over time, over 10 years only a few outcomes were grossly wrong, and the tribute that they pay a lot of these characters. I absolutely lost it when the got team four star to do Vegeta and alucard.
Eh, they get a stuff wrong pretty often, it just varies how big the fuckups are.
The funniest example I can remember is them making Super Saiyan Goku literally HALF as strong as base form instead of 50 times stronger

Hal’s fought beings on par with Alien X and stronger.
During “Zero Hour: Crisis in Time” a Parallax posessed Hal Jordan was able to pull an Alien X and recreate the entire universe. Later on, not only was Hal able to defeat a fully powered Parallax, but he was also able to defeat the Zero Hour version of himself during the Convergence event.
Considering the DC universe is 1 billion times larger than ours, (It was calc’d in the Reverse Flash vs Goku Black episode.) and that the Ben 10 universe is the same size as ours, Hal Jordan is *vastly* more powerful than Alien X.
Also, he has a hard-counter to Alien X. In the episode “Forge of Creation”, Agregor was going to steal the powers of a baby Celestialsapien. There’s nothing to imply that Celestialsapiens gain immunity to power stealing, in fact the opposite is implied. Agregor wanted a baby Celestialsapien because it didn’t have multiple conciousnesses to hold back its power. Meaning that there was more power to steal from the baby than an adult.

The point in that fight is the ring is a better weapon, and with Hals infinite will he's beaten gods and defied reality and to my knowledge X can't time travel.
One of the things I love about death battle is that they managed to make complete stops, even matchups, and even matchup, and even matchups they get wrong, EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING. Like Naruto versus Ichigo for example. In hindsight, yes, this fight is wrong, but it’s so I was considered to be one of the best battles in the shows history. Another one is Thor versus Vegeta. EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM knew that vegeta was gonna take another L, and in the phone animation, they still manage to keep us hype and second guess who would win or not. That’s good writing. When they miss they miss. But when they hat they hit.
Green Lantern probably wins in all actuality, he has some Multiversal feats in his day. It's just the way they explained it was really bad.

I watch Death Battle mainly for how they portray the characters and how they would react to each other in a fight. Reverse Flash vs. Goku Black is one my favorites for this reason: just watching these two ridiculously petty, (near) unkillable time travelers kill each other over and over again was the highlight of that season for me.
