  • Millie is back in the garage for the season. I had to do a few modifications so she fits but she’s snuggled in and ready for some finish work.

Congratulations on a great season, 700 miles!? That’s awesome!!
It has to be a proud moment to be out there with so many boats. Just knowing that you’ve built that boat with your hands and skills. She’ a beautiful vessel.

Oh heck! If I said hours I meant miles! I’ll go look. Thanks for the kind words. It’s been a great journey. Now I’ll be prepping for the Inside Passage in the spring. 700 miles each way. That will be an adventure!

Thank you! Fun build. Nice to have (most of) it behind me. Time to paint the house and do some yard work!

    Hi Randy,
I have watched your videos from the beginning and I have really enjoyed following your journey.
You truly have built a magnificent vessel.
With regard to your "trailer scuffs", I would suggest when retrieving that you do not reverse you trailer quite so far into the water, so that when your boat comes up on the rollers, the aft end is not floating and this will eliminate the problem you were discussing - hope this makes sense?

That does make sense. If only I had rollers and not bunks! I have a friend with the same boat and he uses silicone on the bunks and cranks it up, so same concept. Thanks for the suggestion and the kind words.

My hull is similar The trailer has bunks but topped with plastic guides that allow the boat to ride up to the bow crank. my trailer is never more than half in water when retrieving the boat. Always cranking the last 3 feet up. works for me.

@@jamesboatbuild Yes, I think I’ll be adding the bunk slides next season. I’m also going to build the guides to keep the boat over the trailer while loading as more poor wife has to hold it steady while I pull forward. Thanks for the tip.

Hey Randy. I can't remember if we had each others number or we contacted each other through TH-cam. One of these days I need to stop by and check your boat out. I'm getting ready to pull the plug on the plywood and stock up on material and get this project started finally.
