4 Danley TH-118s use to bring down lighting fixtures, HVAC vents and ceiling dust tiles in 60% of the venues I played in. They had amazing sound, were musical, and I got complements every time I used them. The bass sound also carried nicely and the crowds never had to crowd my subs just to feel the bass. I sold them to downsize in favor of a pair of BassBoss SSP118 subs + DV12 tops. I drove the Danley’s with a Crown MA12000i + two EV CP3000s amps. I loved the portability of them as well as I could easily lean + lift/push method them into an SUV with ease (solo).
At Masters Of Hardcore in Manchester, there was a row of 8 in front of the small stage. I'm not sure how far it was cranked but was definitely giving me a gut and chest massage right back by the bar. Wasn't the best room or music to evaluate sound quality. It was sounding quite shrieky and harsh. Other speakers I think were some of the Go2 range - maybe 12CX or 8CX for distribution speakers. Mains I think were the J7 and also some SM80 behind the DJ booth. It was LOUD but I can't imagine the J7s were up all the way... The other rig on the main stage was some L'Acoustics line array, and some L'Acoustics subwoofers in end fire, and I think that rig sounded nicer but the room was way better (not an echoey long tunnel of a room with pillars like the other one) and it wasn't up as loud. I spent most of the time in that room to avoid having my earholes blasted out. Probably could have cranked it a bit more actually. The other DJ stage was drowning it out when I was in the corridor between rooms.
Hi, are you running the subs and sm80 on separate channels? I'm in the UK and a friend of mine has acquired 2 th118, 2 sm80 and a dna20k4 pro, long story. Trying to get them to run properly- do you have an email address I could send a few questions too?
What is u "best" pa set up for that size room (you say this the good set up). My church is looking to get new pa speakers and subs what would you recommend?
@@PortableSoundSolutionMelbourne thanks for the response. Have you tried bass boss products. How would a bass boss ssp118 compare to these? I am in Canada edmonton. I believe you leave in US correct?
@@w00dpile1 I was thinking a JTR orbit shifter might get a bit louder using its higher power handling (it has some crazy car audio style driver in a horn) but don't know for sure or on a watt for watt basis the TH118 might be slightly more efficient.
@@PortableSoundSolutionMelbourne most of how "musical" a sub is the room. A bad room can turn tight accurate bass into a slow echoey rumbly mess. I have two ported subs that sound nice in my room and then I put them in the corner in a village hall and kick drums just went rumble rumble rumble rumble.

tell me if it is necessary to reverse the phase on this subwoofer due to the fact that the speaker is located with a magnet outside

I believe you use both speakers , thanks
Very good speakers. I have a little favour I'm embarrassed you guys are so smart. Could you make a test with classical music thank you .
On our next video we will try to do more then one genre of music.

For DJ events my best is Danley J3 and BC415. I work a lot with churches on Danley designs. Call me to discuss. 321-345-9032

@@jack3400 No I have not.
How good this sub can kick, how good the bass quality is?
Yes. Best single 18 on the market. Will out run most double 18. Dollar to SPL then add on the fact it is a very musical then it's hard to beat.
@@PortableSoundSolutionMelbourne Danley is great. But really dont think 1 TH118, will beat l'acoustic KS28. Would be sick tho.

Where do get Danley pricing?
call me 321-345-9032
Their single unpowered 18s are more than double most powered dual 18s price.
A lot of money in those speakers, and the recording done on an iPhone.. sigh.
That's what happens when you blow all your $$$ on audio gear and can't afford $100 external sound mic for the iPhone lol
Tapped horns are awful
