Chicken Wire Empire began as a 4 piece traditional bluegrass band. The band honed its traditional sound, encapsulating it in 2014 with their debut album Chicken Wire Empire. With half of the group rooted in bluegrass, and the other half steeped in jamband music, a change occurred when CWE performed an Old & In The Way tribute show. With the addition of Jon Peik (banjo), Ernest Brusubardis IV (fiddle), and Greg Brundage (guitar), a new sound was found in Milwaukee, and Chicken Wire Empire joined the roster of high energy jamgrass.
Hear Here Presents is a unique live music video series based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that focuses on high quality audio mixes and top notch filmmaking to create a multi-dimensional, intimate viewing experience for all music lovers, no matter their location.

Saw them in July 2019 at Pierce Hill Performing Arts in Viroqua WI. They rocked the barn for three hours!! Fantastic. Highly recommended.

Like the contemporary & traditional feel I get from this high-energy bluegrass band especially on their long tracks because they can really get into a lot of intertwined picking between band members. I believe they will be around for a long time.
