My chinchilla will come to the sides of the cage eagerly whenever I go to him, but as soon as I open it he shoots the other side of the cage and literally SPAZ if I try to even put my hand in. I want to take him out and let him roam/play , but I also don’t want to terrify him. What can I do?
@@PlanetChinchilla I’m going to buy one tomorrow. I have him in a 1/2 bedroom. Which is soooo small I thought that maybe it would work to just let him roam in with me but he just doesn’t want anything to do with that. 😩🤦🏽♀️ but I’m going to keep trying. I’ve watched MANY videos and patience seems to be the key here. ❤️ I just want him to be happy and healthy.

Have you tried using a playpen?
You can use the dust bath to move your chinchilla from cage to playpen
