  • The plaintiff is an Uber driver, and the defendant arranged for a pickup. The plaintiff claims the defendant smashed his door into a metal garbage can, damaging it, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant says the plaintiff refused to take him to his destination. When he got out of the car, the defendant gently opened the door. The defendant admits he lightly scratched the door but nothing more. The defendant is countersuing for counseling and lost wages.

Unfortunately, its the truth about Uber. I learned that when I was booking a trip to an airport that was an hour away. The person came, I sat in the car, and then she asked me if I had put in the right address. It was too far for her.

As a ex-uber driver. Judge you're incorrect. Uber drivers don't see final destination until they've picked up the passenger. I've done multiple pick-ups at the LAX airport and it takes me to a location in San Diego county which is almost 2 hrs away. I take em because I'm stuck and have integrity to fulfill my duty. But hated those rides. Because then the ride back? Was empty. I'm driving for free technically

This case serves as a prime example of how biases, intentional or unintentional "seep" to the surface in all people, regardless of position or authority. It's shameful the way this defendant was coddled throughout the entire testimony, despite him having admittedly caused the damage, then purposely ignored requests for payment to make things right. Then, the audacity to file a counter claim comprised of absolute nonsense, all the result of his own actions. We even witnessed the "softer side " of Doug post case, with the defendant. Ridiculous
