I don’t care who the next coach is. Getting Monty out of the locker room and off the bench would do wonders for the confidence of the whole team. He is draining the life and drive out of our guys.
I believe a coaching change is a necessity. Monty did a terrible job last season with this mostly young team. He wants and needs vets, and that just isn't what these Pistons currently are. Get a solid coach and bring in a few starting caliber vets and keep this thing moving forward.
@@Keeb5ter Why is brining in 3 Vets, 2 starters and 1 on the bench a bad idea? How about over 10 years with no playoff wins? is it worse than that? Or trading future picks, for 3 1st round picks in a draft where, neither is a starter, one is out of the league and the other is traded?
Coming into the beginning of last season, I remember the talk that Monty was brought in to bring a more mature style to the young Pistons players. We'll never know the whole story of what the Hell happened, but this year has to be different. If the Pistons aren't improved, I'll toss them aside and hope the Wings are better. Enough of Detroit teams not making the playoffs. The fan base deserves much better.
as much as I hate losing, it's dumb to expect us to be winning in the next 2 years- We have overvalued our young talent. Even at the most optimistic projection for cade, Ivey, duren, AT....this team has VERY little talent. look at teams around the league and you'll see that we have FAR less talent (not to mention talent that complements each other). The rebuild is really just beginning. Yes, some savvy moves could help to improve the team but we just won 14 games. we should be aiming for 25-30 wins. Any SVG moves to try and fast forward this rebuild will blow up in our faces and leave us stuck in mediocrity, Just because the latest regime failed miserably at this rebuild doesn´t mean we should expect a fast turnaround now under this new regime. that is impossible and that mindset will actually force us into making bad decisions. use the cap space to stockpile future 1sts and make moves with the longterm in mind and not just short term.
Why would we want to play against him. I don’t think the prospects were judged fairly this yr. And it’s always some sleepers. But he’s proven. He’s athletic. He played different sports but he grew too tall to play. So he has agility as well. Did I mention endurance? They see Boban. What? I see one of the best big men in a while without trying to be a guard. You can’t stop him . Let’s get this right this time. It’s Zach Edey to the Pistons. If another team doesn’t fool you all and pick him in the top 4
Golden State would score 81 in a half. The Pistons couldn’t even stop Lebron from scoring 25 straight with no one else on his roster and you expect them to stop the warriors.
That wasn’t the 2004 going to work championship winning Detroit Pistons. You’re talking a team a few years from them and they weren’t the same team roster wise by then either. This is about the 2004 Detroit Pistons. Not the 2006-07 team.

Yes you are naive Sir. Your assessment is childish. So add Chris Paul to Detroit, and lets see if we turn everything around. Everything else still has to work. Its childish to think 1 person can just turn around a team with everything else not working. Argument can be Monty saw what was missing and got his man, and turned around a good team that was missing 1 piece to be great.
@@WoodwardPistons I';m also confused, where did I say you did? I clearly made a suggestion since adding Chris Paul is in your examples, the cure all to basketball purgatory for 4 other teams. Dismissing all other additions to those teams. You used the example to discredit Montys impact on the Suns and taking a young team from 19 wins to 34 without Paul, because the following year Chris Paul was added, as if none of the rookies from the previous year developed, or adopted Montys defensive philosophies which improved the defensive ranking from 29th, to 17th to 9th. Im sure at 35, Paul was shutting guys down. Before Chris Paul arrived the Offense already improved from 23rd to 10th. Killian. Josh jackson, Bagley, Wiseman and Harris are not on him.
