Repairing Century Old Anvil / derusting , resurfacing and painting

I have the anvil for like 10 years and it is in fact century old. The anvil underwent some serious abuse and it's time to re-estabilish flatness and restore it back to an excellent state. The first step is derusting followed by refacing and painting. So sit down relax and enjoy :).

How long did you work on this anvil ? I would do the same on my anvil 🤔

Hello and thank you :). The prepping took me approximately 3 hours and milling itself well... way longer than I would expect, probably 2 hours. I had to turn the cutting edge of octa-carbide insert quite often. So it took some 5 hours to the point of painting, but with bigger milling machine it could be significantly reduced. I really hate to torture my milling machine, so i took only shallow depth of cuts with slow feeding speed.
