      I no 13" wheel look better on f1 cars. But Low profile tyres is lot better because car will have better performance and less pitch roll in corner and less chances tyres blow out like in sliverstone or contact from another car and now nearly all wec & fia racing is all 17"/18" with different width depending on car size.

      I think part of the new regulations allow for in season loop closures to take place. IIRC currently it takes a unanimous vote by teams to change something, going forward I think it is 8/10 teams. With the budget restrictions throwing money at something that would just end up being shut down after a race or two seems counterproductive.

      I disagree. The current power units have a power output around the same as the old v10s, while being lighter and most importantly more fuel efficient. Hybrid technology and smaller ices are here to stay, primarily because without a return to refueling, which is never ever gonna happen, they're necessary. Also, with their power to weight ratio, its likely that even without regulation the teams would still use a similar if not identical power unit to the current ones because they're just genuinely really good.

  • @PlaySA
    @PlaySA 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Going back to using more ground effect for downforce is super smart because it creates downforce but much less turbulent air than the current setup, allowing the cars to be just as fast but pass more closely. Hopefully that's the actual end result! It's not going to equalize the field though, there will still be plenty of room for manufacturers to ensure their cars are the fastest and that work has already begun

In the good old times, they drove flat out trought they race if they needed to. You can build more realible V10 its just about the rules. I think they're developing the theory on which they can base the new set of rules on. So none of the cars will look exactly like that. I.e. the wing has to be within certain dimensions, dimensions of which are based on the model they're developing

    • @arbiter1
      @arbiter1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes and no. reason overtakes is hard now and reason they have DRS is when you close you lose so much downforce car just doesn't turn in corners. if they only lose so little means they will be able to be much closer in turns so makes possible straight passes without DRS on top of out brakeing buy in front. Even with DRS might not even be able to make up the gap as it is on a straight without risk of destroying your tires.
